I'm obviously not a fan of Smallville's Flash, but I have to say I wouldn't mind if they'd incorporate some of their design choices into the new Flash suit.

Like making the Torso a lighter red, and adding some piping on the sides and shoulders, to break the colors up a bit.

I didn't even think about the Impulse suit. I actually never realized it was two different shades of red too. If they made it a full body suit, it might've not looked that bad too.

Not at all.

If I had to rate them, I'd give Smallville a 4/10.

I'd give MoS a 6.5/10.


I enjoyed Hartley's Green Arrow for a few episodes, but they ruined the character once he became a regular. Part of the reason Hartley's GA had so much appeal was that Smallville's real lead, Tom Welling, sucked in the role. He was upstaged by everyone.

Plus some fanboys were delusional and thought he would play the movie Superman, or at the very least don the suit and become Superman on the series...

That show could have been awesome if he turned into Superman in like season 3.

Maybe not though, every comic character we got on that show aside from Lex was completely half assed

I just started a rewatch of the 1990 Flash series. 10 minutes in and I am already going, "Why did they cancels this?"

(Yes I know why high budget & not so hot ratings but JWS was an awesome Barry and Flash)

And even Lex was half-assed.

Everyone praises Rosenbaum's performance but not how Lex was written. I hated how they ruined Lex in the series finale.

But I commend Rosenbaum for making the best of some really bad material. He was a good Flash too.

Smallville handled their big bad guys with considerably more competence than everyone else.

For all the crud episodes Lex got, he still had plenty of winners. Doomsday was very good until the finale. Zod managed to earn his spot as the show's number 2 nemesis, and Callum Blue had the perfect amount of hamminess for the show. And Lionel Luthor was so awesome I remember going ballistic when they brought him back for the final season.

It's why I'm curious just how the CW will handle a villain as relatable yet banal as cold or as frightening as Zoom for the Flash.

Its not for the CW to handle. its the writers.

Yes CBS admitted they killed the show:

The following year when I was at the Tonys in New York, Howard Stringer who was with CBS at that point said "We killed that show with our scheduling."

watching the ep I had forgotten what a terrible gf Iris was. 2 days after Barry was struck by lightning and she wouldn't pick him up when he got stuck at the beach. Sure he couldn't explain but she could at least pick him up and then chew him out on the way back. t:

Had a friend come over to play video games. Turned this on in the background - he rolled his eyes, commented about how cheesy it was.

Halfway through the first episode we watched, he had shut down his laptop and sat there, just watching and enjoying...he nearly crapped himself when he saw Hamill as the Trickster.

Every line, every laugh, he was like 'Dude! I can totally hear the Joker voice in this!'

Well they had Colleen Atwood (three time Oscar winner) design Arrow's costume for the pilot. And considering The Flash's pilot has so many of the same players, I see no reason to think they can't aim high, costume-wise.

^ yep, I don't think we will see another smallville costume. Since he will most likely get his suit in the pilot, which has a higher budget I'm sure we will get a good suit.

Cant keep it in any longer, I think this casting is truly awful - the guy looks about 12 and have you seen him act? so bad (wooden)

and his voice sounds like walter white jr

and to think , they auditioned so many actors for the role and gave it to this guy, in my head like the opposite of barry allen

this even makes the affleck casting look good - at least he has the frame...

sort it out, CW (I hope I'm proved wrong)

- and the old flash tv series was pretty cool , i was so jealous of dawson for having the flash for a dad

I'm still giving him a chance. I want to see how he does in the two episodes, before judging him. And to your "at least he has the frame" comment, I'm actually glad they got someone a bit leaner. Yes, Flash has over the top superhero proportions like everyone else, but he really shouldn't have. He's a runner. They are generally slimmer.
