I'm curious to see where the idea in-show for the classic Flash costume (the showrunners have confirmed that he'll wear it) comes from, since superhero movies/TV shows these days like to provide explanations for that kind of stuff.

Isn't he an Arrow fan? So we have an explanation why he'd don a suit and use his powers to help people. But why go with the colors yellow and red? Maybe he just got inspired by something, like a comic that was lying around.

I don't think that needs to be explained. If they have to do it, they can just have him say that green isn't his color or something.

Because translated directly to live action, it would look like this..

Looks fine in the comics, but I think most of the DC costumes need drastic reinvention for a live action medium.

That's actually one of the better cosplays I've seen, but I disagree. Just use those basic patterns but make them out of cool material, like what the Spider-Man movie suits were made out of or even the Fantastic Four suits or heck even MOS...maybe not JUST like that but you get the idea. Doesn't have to be cheap or cheesy looking but can still look like The Flash but not bulky and armored or robotic, neither of which make sense for The Flash.

I mean I definitely don't want a crappy cosplay looking thing, I don't think anyone does - but if they can make all these other characters outfits work and if even the 90s TV show did a pretty good job with the suit then there's no reason why they can't today. And as for the "eye coverings", those are unnecessary for The Flash as well because his powers have a protective aura around him that prevents things like that from hurting him. His eyes could maybe light up when he goes into Speed Mode but otherwise I don't see why it's necessary to have his eyes covered like Spider-Man's.

Very happy they've at least confirmed he will be called The Flash and wear an actual costume and not some hoodie piece of crap thing.
