That's the point of the chase, to show Bruce pushing the limit to almost killing. That is his arc throughout the story. It's a year two Batman so he will make a lot of mistakes. What are your likes and dislikes about The Batman so far ?

The tone from I've seen.
Robert Pattinson Batman/Bruce Wayne/costume from what I've seen so far.
Jeffrey Wright Jim Gordon from I've seen so far.
Paul Danos Riddler dialogue and costume from what I've seen so far.
A possible more grey interpretation of the Wayne's.
Zoe Kravitz Selina Kyle from I've seen so far
Cinmeatogrphy fight scenes.
Batmobile.
Dislikes.
Batman hanging out in the GCPD like a regular cop.
Batman being very reckless in the car chase despite having the no kill rule. As badass and phenomenaly shot as that car flip was I do have to wonder how Bruce knew Oswald would survive that.

Everything except for Batman being a rage-a-holic.
I especially like the Se7en atmosphere and detective story.
Only remember it said once.Only real dislike is the amount of times everyone says Jesus. Seriously, on multiple viewings it becomes grating. Everything else is just minor nitpicks for me.
Rob was in better shape than Keaton so that’s a strange thing to say. Atrocious acting? Huh? Same vibe as the Gotham show? Huh? I’m so confused. Also Oz is the one who caused the deaths by his crazy stunt he pulled on the highway. If a cop chases a criminal onto a highway, is it their fault if the criminal kills ppl? He’s not pancaking cars like Bale and ppl are fine with that.Just watched it on Max.
it's... ok.

The old style VO like in the Watchmen and old detective dramas.

Pattinson - who I didn't buy as a BATMAN for a minute. They should never have let him take off his shirt! He is less convincing to me as a capable fighter than Keaton and that's saying something. His acting, while not his fault entirely ( I have seen him in other things that he was good) was atrocious and unconvincing. He is simply not imposing at all. Just my opinion of course.
The hypocrisy I read in other threads about how great this Batman was handled vs Snyder's.
This guy continued a car chase KNOWING he was causing dozens of fatal crashes without a smidge of remorse. No I don't mind this in a movie but the same people that hated when Snyder's Batman killed or allowed to be killed are praising this one. Also the super excessive beatings. I guess he needed to punch these guys so many times because he can't hit that hard? ; )
How isn't this "Gotham" the TV show? Same vibe and quality IMO.
I get what they were going for but they didn't get there IMO.
I guess Pattinson is the "young" peoples Batman?
Not very special to me anyway. Nolan's Begins is still great.
I am happy people liked it.
Oh well...

Ahah, it absolutely didn't bother me at all but I noticed it too. It's actually Gordon who say it the most, at least 5 or 6 times. I just see it as a character's language tic and a little something that helps personalize it. I actually like that little touch.

It reminds me of the Spider-Man: Homecoming trilogy. Fans were disappointed it felt like Iron Man Jr, and we never get a mention of Uncle Ben or “with great responsibility…”. But then NWH comes out and we do get the line and it feels more earned than if we had got it in the first movie. And he has the classical suit at the end, and has grown into the Spider-Man we know.Guess I’m in the minority who likes this Batmobile. I think the design suits this younger, Year two Batman who’s more low-tech compared to other versions. Personally I think it suits this gear-head take that doesn’t have a Lucius Fox that he can ask to recolor military vehicles black for him. So Bruce repurposing a sports car into something that he uses to fight crime with works for me. I think it’s a lot more believable that it looks like a regular-esque car as I think it works in the context of the experience level and nature of this interpretation, at least for where he is now in story.
I think over the course of the trilogy, much like with the batsuit, they’ll evolve the design towards a more traditional Batmobile look in order to mirror this Batman’s growing maturation into the traditional Batman. So it’s fairly clear they went with such an understated and basic design for a reason. What matters most is not how cool it should look, what matters most is it’s purpose in the story and how it serves this particular take on the character. And judging from what I’ve seen so far I think this batmobile(which, given the grounded tone, most likely won’t be called a “batmobile”) works fine for what it is.
I respect your opinion.
Better shape yes. But not imposing.
Rob just didn't convince me in the slightest that he could overpower a group of thugs let alone one.
He not only brooded but was depressing in his tone. Believe me, I get it all. I get what they were going for. Just didn't do it for me.
Bale was pumped for Begins AND the LOS training myth, learning to be a "ninja" shadow vigilante sold the fact that he could fight a group of men.
Batfleck was just the huge semi-sane brawler that you believe could overpower thugs like in the new Reacher series.
For me Rob is all sizzle and no steak. Just my opinion. Twilight with a cowl.
BTW, when cops chase a criminal it IS their fault if they are reckless. Their duty is to defuse the situation and follow... safely until there is a safe opportunity to stop the car. Not to chase the criminal so hard that he kills dozens of people.
Rob kept hittin the gas... blowing up a tanker etc. No difference in the indifference IMO.
Again, I don't mind the damage and violence since it is pretend but there is NO difference in outcome between all the BATMAN portrayals of violence. Just would like people to use the same standards for all films. But that's just me. ; )
BTW...
You know what happens when Bruce Lee hits Andre the Giant...
Nothing...
; )
As for the car chase, sure, Batman was reckless and obsessive in that scene. Reeves himself even says that and explains why
But to say that Battinson continuing to chase Penguin and Penguin doing something borderline suicidal is in any way even comparable to Batfleck literally turning people into mince meat with miniguns on the Batmobile and Batwing is flat out silly.
We are using the same standards for all films. And it's not even comparable.
You might be shocked to learn that most people are not 7 foot tall and 500 pounds.
Not finding Pattinson intimidating is fine. I'm just telling you that expecting beefier muscles to equal more viability in combat is just not correct.
