The Batman Reboot Casting Thread - Part 4

His time on that show was one of the biggest contributers to him becoming a fan favorite for the role, so I don't agree there.

Madden would be ok, but he's a bit too boyish-looking for Bruce Wayne, imo. I'm still rooting for an older Bruce this time anyway, even though it almost certainly won't happen.
I get that point.

But he's not really a favourite pick. Reaction is mixed.
Some say they can't see him as Batman. But I can't see a good enough reason to agree.
Others say he's too young looking or looking too much like Cavill.

I get all those points.
But I like some others see the potential.
I'm not saying cast him now.
He's 26. He needs more work.

He has the potential. I firmly believe that.
That's why I say, don't dismiss him just yet. Wait and see what comes later with him.

See what a bit of time does, that's all :)

And Charles Dance as Alfred Pennyworth.

Spoiler alert: this Alfred doesn't take any of Bruce's ****. :o:up:
Haha, that would mark the first time I'd find Alfred terrifying.

He's 26. He needs more work.
It's funny, because Jai Courtney's 26 as well, and even when Madden has a beard and a streak of gray hair and Courtney doesn't, Madden still looks like a kid next to him:

That's just an illustration of the boyishness I'm talking about. If we MUST have a young Bruce, I hope they find one who doesn't seem so young.

We'll come back to Madden In 2015/2017...see if he looks any older :o

That's more than fair then :D

I hear he might be playing Prince Charming in Cinderella. ..I don't know if we'll see Batman potential in there, but still :oldrazz:

Doesn't seem like the greatest career choice for him, lol.

And I'm still sticking with Robert Kazinsky on my list.
Ben.jpg

I like the sound of the character he'll be playing in True Blood.

Ben is a handsome, charismatic faerie who travels to Bon Temps to help Sookie
and Jason Stackhouse unravel the mystery of their parents murder. Despite his charm, Ben is an extremely dangerous individual, with a dark, violent flavor to his personality.

Apart from being blonde, Jai Courtney also has that 'village idiot' look. Is he a tremendous actor? Because I can't see him as either Bruce Wayne or Batman.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jamie Lanister) is already 43, and also has the blonde affliction.

 What're you smoking, they look nothing alike.

With that said, Courtney is better suited for Aquaman.

I don't think he knows what team you play for.

Wah? If anything he looks exactly like wrestler Bryan Danielson. :o

A.) I wasn't posting him as a suggestion - merely a comparison to illustrate that getting a young actor for Batman doesn't mean he has to look so young. Though while he's far from my top choice, I don't think he'd be a bad choice, either. B.) Courtney has brown hair, not blonde. C.) I haven't seen him in anything that would require a "tremendous" actor, but he seems like a good actor from what I've seen.

Still 42, and for those who want an older established Batman, that totally works. RDJ was that age when he was cast in Iron Man, and that was an origin story.

and also has the blonde affliction.
It's a shame that nothing can be done about that. :oldrazz:

Whoever plays Batman next time around better sound better then Bale. His Bat-voice suckrd.

How about Matt Cohen for the next Bruce Wayne / Batman? He's 30, height 5' 11½", and is probably best known to sci-fi fans as young John Winchester on Supernatural.

I think having a CW affiliation makes someone automatically ineligible. No offense but CW stars seem to be fan cast for every project out there and i've yet to see any of them cast in a substantial role anywhere?

They don't seem to be taken very seriously by those who aren't fans of the shows their on. I'd say they are probably one rung up on soap-opera actors when it comes to being considered for major projects.

Having a CW affiliation shouldn't make you ineligible and it's elitist bull**** to say it should.

That said, having the only notable work on your resume be a few episodes on a CW show and really nothing more goes to show that they are, almost certainly, not qualified to lead a billion dollar franchise and it's foolish to think that they are, based essentially entirely on looks and a few guest appearances.

My great grandfather was affiliated with the CW...and he died because of it :o

Your great grandfather died so Jane Levy could live. :o
