I don’t think Jake G. looks old enough to believably play a seasoned Batman (i.e. a version of the character who’s been operating for at least a decade) without makeup, but it wouldn’t be appropriate to portray him as a beginner either. I’d say he’s comfortably in the “Batman: Year Five” wheelhouse.

You don't think Jake can play a Batman who has been operating for a decade? I honestly don't get this mentality. 20 years, I'd agree with you. But 10? Really?

I'm sure time is not an issue anymore. They'll just act like he's been doing this "for a while".

Not without help from hair and makeup. He’s almost 40 and looks a decade younger than that. I can buy him as experienced or established or whatever you want to call it, but not as a veteran crime fighter.

I think right now, without makeup, I'd say he'd pass for a mid 30's Batman just fine. That would make him Batman for about 10 years. That's perfect for me. Affleck was pretty much playing a mid 40's Batman.

I don’t see it. Which isn’t to say he couldn’t pull it off, but just based on his appearance...nah.

Agreed. He didn't have anything to work with to be fair. But i get the feeling we'd just get MORE of that delivery. Which is fine if he's going to be like Pat Hingle, and just pop up every once in a while on a rooftop or whatever. But i want more. It honestly felt like i was watching J.J Jameson with a fedora to be completely honest.

From the sound of things, it looks like they're probably only going to recast Affleck as Bruce. Irons and Simmons will probably stay in place as Alfred and Gordon. If they get recast too, we'll probably know about it around January or so.

Had he not been Batman, I would have loved to see him stretch his acting muscles on Joker.

Ironically he's more of a physical match for Joker than Bats. Look at that nose!
