The Batman Spoiler Discussion Thread

Is there actually a full plot leak out there? I wanna reveal some stuff but not if everyone knows everything already lol

Supposedly, a 4-page summary exists. That said, it's not been posted here. Are you willing to DM a full plot leak to me, and/ or post it in this spoilers thread? Would love to read it.

I don’t actually know the full plot, but definitely a lot of stuff that I think most people don’t know. I intentionally refrained from getting the biggest twist spoiler

I’d rather do Q&A stuff and answer what I do know but here’s some random stuff:

-Alfred opens a letter to Bruce from the riddler that he just throws away but it’s a bomb and he gets caught in it, becoming unconscious and going to the hospital for a bit

-Gordon slips Batman the key to escape the GCPD (kinda obvious) the guy also said that seeing Batman full on sprint here is kinda funny but scary at the same time

-The guy that Batman is beating up while cat woman looks on is NOT the riddler

-The last shot is Batman and Catwoman riding their motorcycles in opposite ways with Bats looks back at her

-something in the way actually plays in the movie, while Bruce rides his motorcycle

-Savage drops an F bomb early on

-Batman does an “over dramatic” dive into the water before the flare scene, which my friend thought was strange

-first shot is a binocular view from riddler, of the mayor playing with his son, then the next few minutes is a montage of criminals reacting to the bat symbol while Bruce narrates
I know this doesn’t reveal much but again, I didn’t want to get spoiled lol
Did your friend tell you something about which rogues gallery members were referenced? I mean, besides the ones in the movie of course

No, sadly

btw, did Shauner delete most of his posts in this thread regarding the 4 page summary?

would love to know what he told you guys

^ Great stuff. Some of it, I've read. Some of it, I have not read. Some other questions:

-What audience rating does your friend think the film will get (in its current state)? R, PG-13?
-How does the film compare to The Dark Knight?
-What review rating would your friend give the film, out of 10? Ex. 9/10, etc.
-Any other random info you're willing to share? Ex. your post about when the Something in the Way music plays, is the first I've read about it.

Gonna be a hard PG-13

My friend doesn’t really like The Dark Knight but he said he didn’t get Nolan vibes at all from it. The movie he compared it to the most was Klute, while saying it was dripping with Year One vibes

Right now he has it at a 8.5/10, potentially higher if they fix the third act

can’t remember that much else worth noting but I’ll probably talk to him more over the course of these next few weeks.

-Gordon’s the funniest character
-there’s a scene similar to the grave scene in MOTP where you see how pathetic Bruce is
-riddler’s lair is disgusting and claustrophobic
-This is actually one I’m shocked I didn’t remember earlier, but Alfred trained Bruce
Alfred trained Bruce? Well, i hope he was not his only coach

Its hard to believe Alfred trained Bruce tbh, based on what we saw from the trailer, it seems that he does not support what Bruce is doing

Hey guys, so I guess some of you noticed that I went back and deleted all of the spoilers I posted since last Wednesday. I also asked a mod to help with that. Why? I was paid a visit on Twitter (DM) and was asked very nicely by somebody who knows a crew member to stop spoiling the whole movie lol. It didn't bother me because he said he didn't want some ppl possibly getting canned. Even though it was actually a dude who attended the test screening who leaked the summary via a Reddit DM. I won't be sharing more here but that's okay cuz i see it like a few days of sharing info with some cool peeps. And the ones who read it got a treat and whatever you remember should be good enough to keep you going until March. I think you're actually all better off reading it once and then forgetting fragments that way you're not obsessing over the info.

But I will say that this new info from @Robbypattypats is really cool to read because it fills some blanks from my summary. I wanna know more about the opening montage with those criminals. Alfred training Bruce wasn't in my summary so that's sweet! Are you saying Bruce or Batman visits his parents' grave?

My summary was a big plot breakdown so i understand ppl getting nervous. RobbyPats I'd stick to smaller character stuff like the ones you mentioned, if you're gonna spoil stuff here. Don't talk about the ending or plot twists. Gordon being the funniest (I heard Penguin's the funniest) so that's nice to hear!

Yeah I actually don’t know any huge twists aside from that Alfred bomb thing

As for that scene you mentioned, I don’t know if he actually visits the grave. The source said it’s not the same scene beat for beat and is actually tonally different but that Bruce was “pathetic” and it almost made him cry

I’ll probably delete most of this in the morning, btw, don’t want people running with it to Twitter or reddit

Only thing I wanna know is

- How is the detective aspect handled

- is Bruce mentally ill in this film, and if so, how is that aspect handled?

Appreciate anyone who can answer

Maybe it's petty of me, but I'm a little miffed that yet again, we're not getting a Wayne Manor + BatCave combo. It's one of my favourite aesthetic aspects of Batman.

We haven't had a live action Batman routinely functioning out of Wayne Manor that sits above a fully functional BatCave since 1997. That's 24 years.

(Nolan's "BatCave" in Rises doesn't really count, here. It had a computer and a closet - not really the fully functional BatCave I'm getting at, here. And he used it for 2 brief scenes.)

Not having Wayne Manor + BatCave is one thing the last 3 Batman directors seem to be in agreeance on.

Nolan and Snyder also really loved the idea of a burnt down Wayne Manor.
I totally get that perspective and it is one of my tiny nagging nitpicks for me as well. I'm hoping that Bruce living in Wayne Tower and operating out of the Wayne Terminus cave is maybe just an early Batman thing. He wants to be close to his mission and is not very interested in being Bruce Wayne, so it would make sense that he is not based at the Manor currently. Perhaps Reeves intends to use the third act flood destroying the Terminus cave along with Bruce's reconnection with his non-Batman identity as the basis for introducing the Manor and Batcave in part 2 of the trilogy.

**** I missed this, my bad

Batman isn’t a genius, he still shows clear signs of inexperience, but still makes some really smart deductions in the film. The movie is a detective/mystery story first and foremost, with the biggest twist being something that apparently nobody has guessed yet

And yes, Bruce’s mental illness comes directly from his mother who spent time in a mental institution, which was covered up by Thomas Wayne who was running for mayor

Not much new information if you’ve been keeping up with people like VA and BigScreenLeaks but that’s all I got :/

So kind of like Daniel Craig's version of James Bond in Casino Royale? It's a strong balance of depicting Bruce's innate talents and skill as Batman and his lack of proper experience?

What did your friend think of the performances in the movie especially Pattinson?

does the movie end in a way that teases what's to come in the sequels?

What does Joker look like

Does Riddler get locked up in Arkham for a long stretch of the movie?

What did they think was the best action sequence?

How is Gotham like? does it feel like it's own character?

Where would your friend rank this movie in terms of the other Batman movies?

Adored Pattinson’s performance. Easily his favorite live action portrayal. He’s not really a Bale guy due to that performance being kinda stoic and wasting Bale’s potential but he called Pattinson phenomenal here

Yes, the movie does end that way
while the city’s flooded, Batman and Selina ride off on opposite directions on their motorcycles, Bruce looks back at Selina, Selina never turns around

you can’t see joker, just scarred skin. Can’t even tell if it’s white

AFAIK riddler gets locked up in the second act and escapes fairly quickly

seemed like the GCDP escape was the most thrilling sequence

We’ve “seen nothing yet” when it comes to Gotham. The underbelly is apparently very Year One influenced (as well as the whole movie). And yes Gotham is both treated and shot like it’s own character

He has this as easily his favorite live action film, although idk if he likes it better than Phantasm (probably does). Also thinks it’s Reeve’s best film

Thank you for answering, I have a few more question's

What did they think about Catwoman, Riddler and Penguin in the movie?

What did they think about the length of the film, did it feel long or did time seem to fly by?

What was the deal with Drops? do they focus on it or is it something in the background

How Many people does Riddler kill in the movie overall

Does Batman narrate the movie often?
