The Batman Spoiler Discussion Thread

Him helping the citizens in the flood and in the aftermath was definitely very moving. Nice to see Batman be a bonafide hero.

That was definitely a moving scene - especially when they were hesitant at first to grab his hand, they were unsure what to think of him or trust him, but that was his transformation into a HERO.

Personally I love it when we as the viewer are essentially put in the shoes of whatever thug or villain Batman is about to get the drop on and almost feel the same fear that they do. Reeves and Pattinson really delivered that in spades on a level I don't think has really been seen in live action since the first Burton movie.

It seems like a Matt Reeves trademark.

In Let Me In you pretty much have a scene where Riddler is in Colson's car and the car crash with Penguin.

And there's also a pov shot from Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.

Seeing how Reeves shot a scene with Joker actually in it its pretty likely the design is finalized and we could potentially see It in the art book right?

Also, no one has mentioned that Riddler reveal in the shadows... holy ****. That was a Hereditary ceiling shot vibe, with a lot of Halloween vibes.

Heck, the whole Colson attack was like Annie/Michael in Halloween.
100%. I also loved how in the Colson attack in the car, they lingered in the blur to show Riddler attaching the bomb around hsi neck.

OMG, his intro when he approached the goons in that train station was INCREDIBLE. The tension, the sound design, I literally was getting anxiety myself as you heard him steadily approaching and his theme was swelling and swelling. That was masterful filmmaking right there and an excellent way to bring in this Batman.
This opening was perfect. I wouldn't change anything. 10/10.

Again going back to the "eye acting" I posted earlier, you can see the hate in his eyes as the Mayor was talking on the phone.

The way Reeves/Fraser thought and put care into every frame, using specific lenses... the rain/fog, etc. to present this claustrophobic atmosphere. It's just so damn stunning.

...really lends to the GCPD show trying to capture a murderer who probably carves up his victims / Ed Gein-style meets Jack The Ripper. Cops trying to beat the Bat to the punch ala Gotham Central's first arc.

All the while the finale has both Barry and Robert in it, Pattinson cameoing. Barry could be sparsely used throughout the 6-8 episodes ala Mindhunter's BTK.

Yeah, I just personally don't want sleeveless Batman with a bow & arrow in overgrown post apolcalyptic Gotham City, just doesn't feel like Batman to me, but we'll see what happens. I trust Matt Reeves though, seems like his sensibilities are just perfect for this character.

I mean...now I kind of do :cwink: :funny::o:o:o

This is the way.

Given how deliberately the final scene avoids showing too much of Joker it wouldn’t amaze me if the deleted scene is a bit cagey about a full reveal as well.

Yeah, I suspect he’s shrouded in shadow in that first conversation. Maybe a hint of a green hair & a grotesque smile.

I could see how having a Joker cameo in the middle of the proceedings could be distracting though. Love that it’s implied he and Bats already had their encounter—my head canon is crafting something similar to Brubaker’s The Man Who Laughs.

I didn't like the wingsuit and parachute when he glided. Gliding with the cape is just better. If they did the grapplegun then they should have done the cape as well.
