BvS The Batsuit Thread - - - Part 19

I just woke up, then remembered that we finally have an awesome Batsuit. What a start to the day!

Yes.. This new cowl on Ben seems to be a one piece cowl and neck. Every person to ever wear one of these things has always said the same thing.. turning the head has ALWAYS been an issue. Never technically solved.. Bale complained so much, that the design and materials were altered in such a way to avoid the issue. But the technical aspect of it was still yet to be solved. Which brings us to this new cowl. Many mention the "Nightowl" cowl as an example.. But in truth? The neck on that design was very thin, which would make turning the head much easier. The hard thing about that design? Getting the thin neck over the actors head when dressing him.. To which, the larger mouth opening area did help.. The designs of the Batman cowl usually has much more girth around the neck area as compared to, let's say "Nightowl".. So getting the big thing over the head is still an issue. The thickness of the neck area and the firmness of the material is what fights against the mobility. Let's hope that they have sorted something out.. Finally... It would be pretty cool..

fantastic analysis there dude i've been staring at the Batfleck suit for so long that i cant help but think they didnt really fix the cowl issue at all. maybe they used a softer type of rubber since the days of Keaton and Bale's BB suit, but unless this Batfleck does nothing but stare at monitors and relay info to Supes and Wondy they're gonna get the "rubber folds" problem when using a softer type rubber material. so yeah... color me interested how Snyder and gang are gonna tackle that perennial Bat-filming problem.

damn the more i look at it, the more i appreciate how beautiful the suit is. i just can't understand the haters.

this might have one upped the spidey suit from ASM2 as my favorite ever super hero costume. i need to see more of it and in color/motion.

if they changed that logo to one of the more traditional symbols (been manipped here) it would be just about perfection.

I miss yellow belt.

Snyder has already minimized the yellow color in Superman's costume, now this, he has turned Batman's yellow utility belt Black.

He could have retained a dark metallic yellow color.

I like the large and proud logo. I also like how it appears to just be on his chest. I don't like when it's on his belt too. Unnecessary IMO. I think a bigger symbol enhances the broad look of the chest.

Yeah i agree, I think the bigger logo makes the chest look wider.
One of the problem with Routh's Superman was that for an ectomorph body type they went for a small S whereas if you see the video of him trying the different suits the suit with the larger S made him more Superman-like and not some kid in cosplay.

what? to my knowledge, it very well may still be yellow...the shot was in all black and white so we can't tell for sure.

Wow those Schumacher suits are sh**! The Batman Returns suit is pretty bad too.

I didn't hate TDK suit but I thought it missed the purpose of dressing up like a bat. TDK suit, with it's plates and armor, looks like a guy in a suit.

The point of the suit was KNIGHT. Nolan took the literal idea of being a knight and applied to the suit for KNIGHT and RISES. The only Batman aesthetic was the cowl.

And I think it's completely on point with the thematic and character aspects of what Nolan was going for in the last two pictures.

Clearly, Nolan didn't miss the purpose of dressing like a bat in BEGINS.

Okay, lets start from the top shall we.
The Cowl - amazing, I love the small amount of detail on the expression. I can't really say if I love the ears because it's from an odd angle but I was expecting short ears so yeah, fine with me! The mouth piece is near perfect, just wished it was wider, other than that it's perfection.

The BatNeck - Perfect. I love the hint at the front of the definition of the neck (if that makes any sense..you know, the two lines on the front?) Love the "panther" neck, I'am sure he can move it and if he can't..meh..not a huge deal to me, I actually kind of like the "bat turn".

Dat Cape - ...Nuff said. haha no but I like how where it meets at the front of the neck and how it kind of drapes over the shoulders. I just hope that he can drape it over him completely!

Logo - I really like it, it seems like it will be bulletproof and can be a target like previous ones. Loving the scratches on it too. Batman ain't got time to make a new suit!

Suit's texture - I absolutly adore this. The way it looks like he's been out fighting, come home, alfred's done his best to fix it and on his way again. Someone mentioned it looks very much like actual bat skin and now...I can't see it any other way!

The Gauntlets - Really like them too, glad they don't look like separate from the gloves. But I did want them to be a bit techy like Arkham.

The Belt - Love the different pockets...that's all I can really say.

I get what Nolan was trying to do and I even appreciate the idea behind it, but it just didn't look good. I would have preferred the bat theme to be dominant.

i love it, though these are the exact same changes i would have made. i absolutely prefer short ears, but the ears a bit nubbier than i would have liked (i would have ripped jim lee's cowl straight off the pages). still, it's the best suit ever. impressed with the fabric, too!

but i still want lenses.

I prefer longer ears. Partly because I have a model where the ears have been accidentally clipped and I have to look regularly to make sure they're still there. I like Jim Lee Batman though.
