The BATSUIT Thread

Hahah, he did.

Maybe they could really go towards a classic look. Have the grey parts flocked (much like the Flash in the 80's series) and the black parts leathery.
Like TDK the neck should be seperate but please no bobblehead...make the cape have a thick turtle neck and be the cowl a real helmet?

Having the armor underneath the cloth is a good idea. But the audience must know, or it wouldn't be realistic. It shouldn't make sense of Batman fighting crime in a t-shirt.

I mean, it isn't that hard to show that to the audience. Hell. they basically did in the BvS warehouse fight by having the cowl literally tank a gunshot at point blank range.

Yeah. "Realism" in Batman is overrated. Who wants "realistic"?

The Nolan films weren't realistic either. Just grounded in feel.

It was realistic, that's why the suit was military grade body armor.

Realism is the last thing you should worried about in a comic book movie. You can do a suit without armor plating being visible and still accept the idea that there is armor under. Nobody here is suggesting Batman go out in just spandex and fight crime. But at the same time visible armor plating doesn't need to be obvious.

I concur.

Though I have a friend who's really attached to exposed tactical armor plating, so there is some audience who prefers that look.

And there are some variations of the batsuit with exposed plating that look good. I'm partial to the first batsuit we see in Arkham Knight (before the overly armored one). It's actually an excellent batsuit imo.

I think something like this(Not the mask. Ew)would work really well.
I know it would get a lot of people saying it’s “too busy” I think it would be cool.

Have the suit made out of a mix of fabrics and materials.
You could keep it looking like something a person could actually move in. AND make it look protective.

I also want them to avoid using muscle suits.
Have the actor get into shape and use their actual build.

That's pretty reminiscent of the arkham origins suit. Btw THAT is how you do white eyes on Batman. Not deadpool style.

If we were going off realism, Batman would wear a full on SWAT helmet, with a faceguard that protects his mouth area and probably would've been killed within the first 5 years of being Batman.

Realism is not make or break for a comic book character. Can it be useful? As seen by TDK trilogy and how successful it is, yes. But it isn't essential.

Depends how it is pulled off. Nolan did it awfully, black panther does it really well.

I feel like the Arkham games have the best lenses, if I'm honest. Just have them be over the eye slits. So long as they aren't as massive or as dumb looking as in TDK, it'll look really good. The size of the eyes on Battfleck's cowl I feel would look a lot better with that kinda style.

I don't take what Nolan did with the white lenses as a genuine effort to bring that effect to life.

It would be cool if the white lenses are retractable, like the new Panther suit. So it stays on when he is fighting or interrogating someone and off to help with the acting.

That's still way too "armored" looking for my tastes. And not sure how to describe it, but some of the design aspects seem really "MCU" somehow, looks more like something Marvel might do.

The cowl design/shape is pretty cool though.

Batman is supposed to terrify criminals. He is a beast of the night. More than just a guy in a suit. That's the in universe logic behind the muscle suits. At night in a dark alley a criminal doesn't know it's a muscle suit. They just see the goddamn Batman and that he is built like a tank. That criminal isn't stopping to wonder whether it's a muscle suit. For that reason Ill always support Bruce bulking up his suits. If they cast someone the size of the Rock that can actually get large and ripped then I'd be all right with them ditching the muscle suit. I really dont want the films to return to a skinny Batman like Bale in TDK and TDKR.I

That being said there are good ways to bulk a suit up and poor ways to do it. The old Batman suits were too much like plastic and the muscles looked like a part of the suit rather than the muscles of the person in the suit. BvS finally got it right with the muscles looking like they are beneath the fabric of the suit.

About the white eyes, how would y'all feel about reflective contact lenses? Like a nocturnal predators eyes.

Yeah, man I hope they play up the "shadow monster" thing a bit more this time. That one lone scene in BvS was pretty awesome with the cops (even if it was ruined by the whole branding bullcrap), and it was all awesome in Begins.

Just hate that "SWAT-team-guy-with-ears" vibe to the second and third Nolan films. Go all creature-of-the-night Begins with it again, pleeeaaassse.

Was brought up in another thread 'Batman Noir'. Wonder if they are willing to just a silhouette. You get to see Bruce Wayne obviously, but Batman would be more like the upcoming Spawn movie is touted to do.

If I was making a Batman movie, this is how I'd do it personally. As my plan (if I did Batman in the DCEU) would've been a three arc trilogy with the first being a prequel. But it's in the POV of a few criminals who join one of the gangs of a Rogue and they encounter Batman. Basically, kinda like that Gotham Knightmare fan trailer. I'd be all for them portraying Batman in this way.

I'd be fine with a few sequences like that but not the whole movie
