Leaning on the horror aspects of Batman is something I’d like to see done more.
“Criminals are a cowardly and superstitious lot”.
The Begins port scene is the only sequence on film that really leans into the horror trope, and stands as one of the best because of this.
Give us a suit that reflects this. No bulky WWE wrestler... but a swift, horrific monster.
I think the minute we start to see the suit, predominantly what's under the cape, in light, it loses the appeal - the more secretive it is, the less we see, due to shadows would help that - the cape needs to be draped over and down the chest, sure, the utility belt when called upon can be featured in a close up, but even for the viewer, the suit needs to be a mystery of sorts. The problem with Nolan is he had too many day scenes, once we see it's bruce in a suit, it stops being 'batman'.
Nolan's mouth opening was too small and almost manufactured looking with it's angles - batflecks looks organic - minor details like that.
I could even take Burton's suit with batflecks cowl.
