The BATSUIT Thread

Leaning on the horror aspects of Batman is something I’d like to see done more.

“Criminals are a cowardly and superstitious lot”.

The Begins port scene is the only sequence on film that really leans into the horror trope, and stands as one of the best because of this.

Give us a suit that reflects this. No bulky WWE wrestler... but a swift, horrific monster.

I think the minute we start to see the suit, predominantly what's under the cape, in light, it loses the appeal - the more secretive it is, the less we see, due to shadows would help that - the cape needs to be draped over and down the chest, sure, the utility belt when called upon can be featured in a close up, but even for the viewer, the suit needs to be a mystery of sorts. The problem with Nolan is he had too many day scenes, once we see it's bruce in a suit, it stops being 'batman'.

Nolan's mouth opening was too small and almost manufactured looking with it's angles - batflecks looks organic - minor details like that.

I could even take Burton's suit with batflecks cowl.

I'm all for bringing more of a mystery and horror element to Batman and how they shoot the batsuit. I still think Burton did it best in his first one.

M1ll3r is right. Frankly, the less we see of the actual suit itself, the better. The silhouette is the most important aspect of Batman's iconogography, and that's driven by the cape and cowl. Get those right and you've done 90% of the work.

I don’t think Batman has ever looked cooler than he did here. Perfection. I wouldn’t mind a return to an all black suit so long as we get the yellow oval.

Two things I definitely want for the new suit: longer ears and yellow oval.

One thing I always thought was odd about the '89 suit is the fact that the muscle sculpt ends at his side. Like it's basically a flap of sculpted rubber that they glued onto the front of the suit but didn't bother to sculpt any musculature for his sides or lower abdomen

It's almost like a hockey vest

I think that the purpose was to make Keaton and his stuntmen move better

Since this is early Batman we're talking about..

One can dream...
I actually quite like the second one. I wouldn't mind a suit inspired by Bob Kane/Bill Finger at all. It's fitting considering this is Batman in his early years

(I actually own this figure btw)

I love the cowl and bat symbol on the original design

Ah, I guess this makes more sense. But then again, Begins had a full torso sculpt F5B8NKDI0C8ZQMK.LARGE.jpg

I think it could have also been the fact that his cape envelops his body. Maybe we weren't meant to see the sides or back.

Whoa! That’s amazing!! I wouldn’t complain if the new suit looked like that. I’d shrink the belt a little bit though and tone the color down a bit

Just get the cape right this time. Please.
