Two points here. My ideal suit would be as close to this as realistically possible, modern materials and all that. But also, it's about time we get a batsuit on screen where Bruce can pull the cowl back like a hood. It's one of my favorite Batman images and it would be awesome to see in a movie.

That would be pretty cool
But I think it would require a mostly fabric cowl to pull off, and I don't see that happening with Bats

This
It would have to be made out of something that doesn’t look protective at all and one or two shots of him with his cowl pulled back just aren’t worth that.

I also just don’t like the idea of the cowl seeming like it could be easily pulled back.
You don’t want that if you’re trying to hide your identity:o

In reality you're totally right, but they can use a mostly rigid cowl like they always have and just cut to him pulling back a cowl specifically designed to do that one thing in that one shot. Nite Owl in the Watchmen movie has a pretty traditional Batman-esque cowl and they were able to pull this off.

The Flash also does it. And what's wrong with a fabric cowl? His cowl has always been made out of the same material as his cape. They can easily put some pseudo-tech explanation for why it hardens when he pulls it over his face

Eh, the Bale and Affleck versions both have moments of him pulling the cowl off easily (not to mention Keaton peeling his off like it's made of fruit roll up). You just need a Dark Knight moment showing a security measure, a crook or a cop trying to unmask a downed Batman and either getting zapped or just commenting that he can't get it off and we'll buy it.

The problem with a fabric cowl is that it would look like **** :o

I think the blue outfit is gonna have a comeback.

I would totally be down for that.

I would prefer they stick with the gray and black cloth based similar to BvS but the blue would be really cool. Best run in my eyes, O'Neal and Adams.

I really don't think Reeves is gonna be using the blue because blue isn't exactly the first color to come to mind when thinking about noir.

I'm not sure of the technique, probably a lot of CG, but as far as a suit that could believably represent a kind of high tech armor while also giving us that skin tight, vaguely anatomical look to approximate the comics, what about something like what Johansson has on in that awful Ghost in the Shell flick?

It certainly could be incongruous. Depends on the lens Reeves filters the concept of noir through. As another poster noted, a neo-noir, Blade Runner aesthetic could support a blue/grey/yellow suit very well.

I could see something like that with some modular armor pieces ala the JL batsuit.

What do you guys think about the 1939/First Appearance suit? I know that it might look a bit ridiculous for modern day standard, but I've always been curious and wanted to see it adapted for the screen. It is one of his most iconic suits after all.

I wouldn’t mind it as an Easter egg in the cave, but I wouldn’t like him wearing it full time.

Wasn't it rumored that matt reeves was planning on using white eyes for the film?

If true that would be amazing if done right.

Part of me wants them to bring back the yellow bat symbol on his chest but for the most part I think they should leave that as Keaton's...for now.
