The BATSUIT Thread

Because with only 2 months of training, it's gonna be one of two things:

A) Mixed reaction because Batman looks too skinny and unimposing.
B) The suit gets mocked for being too padded and Pattinson gets mocked for needing too much padding.

And perhaps some of you guys here might be fine with that... but that doesn't mean the general reaction won't be a mess lol.

Man, Batman has been portrayed with a slimmer figure loads of times in the source material and various forms of media.

Nobody will go into a frenzy because Batman doesn't look like a roided out cage fighter. Pattinson is already in good shape, he's got three months to refine and tone his physique. If he comes out looking like Cox in the first season of Daredevil

I don't see why anybody would be angry. It makes sense for a young Batman to be slim as he relies moreso on speed, stealth, precision and agility as opposed to brute strength like Affleck.

I somewhat disagree.
It'll be a clusterf*** because we comic book fans are fickle, and it's pretty much impossible to make a costume that 100% of everyone will agree with and/or like.

Everything will have haters no matter what, the idea is to not have that many haters, there are plenty of "First image of actor as a superhero" that didn't cause controversy.

I'd still prefer to play it safe and give him 4-5 months so he can be at Batman Begins Bale physique. I don't want the reaction to be more mixed than it already is. Everyone knows how Robert typically looks, for him to be sold as Batman there needs to be a noticeable transformation, Charlie's body in season one looks too much like Pattinson's normal physique.

I would go with the 3rd photo as well as the 2nd

Whatever’s going on from the neck below makes him look like he has terrible posture. Fix that and you’ve got a great suit.

Oh, and the extra padding on the gauntlets has gotta go.

The cowl and cape on the tatical suit look really great here (If you ignore the goggles and the pointless silver and gold bits).

I think it's the cowl & goggles that ruin the tactical Affleck suit, if you slapped the cowl from the standard suit onto the suit it literally looks like Bale/TDK's suit on steroids.. and I like that.

I can't say I'm a big fan of using the tactical suit as a baseline for a new batsuit. It looks way too bulky. It fit for the context it was used in, otherwise? Not a fan.

This is how the fabric Batsuit should look when damaged. Protective underlayment exposed.

See how easy it can work with a form-fitting suit like Spider-Man?

You don't need him to be in 5 inch thick SWAT armor to illustrate that what he's wearing has some protective qualities

I'm really not a big fan of the CW stuff, and I think most of their costumes are aggressively mediocre, but that costume is actually literally perfect. I'm almost taken aback by how aggressively they nailed it. Leaps and bounds the best suit they've made to date, and for my money it stands toe-to-toe with Reeve's and Cavill's (the MoS one, that is). It couldn't scream "Superman" more if it tried.

Routh had the misfortune of being cast a few years too early and by a director with no vision of his own. I've always felt bad for the guy. Happy to see him get another crack at it, and now I kinda need a Brandon Routh Superman show.

Honestly, he wasn't even too early. With a different director, and a different script, he would have been great as Superman. He just had an unsuited director and a dubious script.

Here’s a concept of a Golden Age Batman:

Just get rid of the guns and it would be perfect!

Here’s an idea, instead of black underwear on the outside, how about some black “pants”?
