The BATSUIT Thread

No but logistically speaking the Waynes are probably the only ones murdered by gun who's kid has the financial means and connections to pull off a high tech suit to become Batman.

Logistically i.e cherry picking.

First it's too handmade but now it's ''high tech''. Make your mind up.

Without seeing his ears and seeing the split pistol emblem -- I would almost assume his alternate identity is "2nd Amendment Man" or "Dual Akimbo Pistol Dude"

Other than that, I'm mildly curious on Reeves approach to this new Batman.

I loved Batfleck as much as anyone and am still pissed he’s gone, but I’m excited for this project and I like the vibe of this. We have to see the full suit and see it in action before we can judge.
This is like the reverse of the Affleck casting and reveal. Ppl shat on Affleck's casting, then when that black and white suit reveal came, it was a 180. I totally dug Pattinson's casting, but this suit is making me turn 180. Wtf is the Gotham by Gaslight cowl and high tech armor? Make's no design sense at all.

Lol the cowl looks handmade sure, but in a general sense if the batsuit in total isn't a high tech piece of equipment, then I dunno.

Yeah, it just feels all over the place. I wanna see it in better light, and of course, the full reveal. I wanna see the ears, cape, legs, boots, gloves, etc. I dunno, maybe I'll change my mind when I get a better look at it?

But right now, this Batman looks right at home with Joaquin Phoenix's Joker. :hehe:

I know what you mean, but I guess we'll have to see what/how/why everything plays out.

Personally, I'd like Bruce to be more hands on with his own suit. Less Alfred doing all the work.

It actually makes sense that the more Bat themed aspects to the costume, the mask, the cape, the chest logo, be the only things customized by Bruce himself. The rest high tech body armor from whatever resources he has a billionaire.

That breast plate looks like something someone could totally make in a modest hobbies metal shop. It’s highly armored but I don’t think there’s anything high tech about it. It’s ultra stylized weirdness homebrew stuff. I know a guy in Grand Rapids who makes his own armor; this is a suit that anyone could make. I imagine rumors of the Batmobile are true as well. If anything I think this Batman will take a cue from the Aranofsky take and employ blue collar tech. I think he’ll be a rich guy with a butler, but my guess is no huge fancy cave, and a generally really man-of-the-people approach. You can bet on a bulky utility belt, and I’ll be somewhat shocked if they have grappling guns.

The neck was extremely mobile on Affleck's suit.
No it wasn’t LOL BvS neck was basically like Batman Begins made in 2003 and used for filming in 2004.

The most mobile neck was still TDK / TDKR suit.

In JL, 2 1/2 years after BvS production, somehow they reverted all the way back to the Burton era neck where it’s totally rigid and not movable at all.

You can see it in his horrible stiff performance. He literally can’t turn his head at all in the justice league mask.

A Bat emblem without bat ears? Come on.

Although I do like the seemingly Arkham Knight inspiration.

When I first saw Batflleck I was blown away. This reveal hasn't had the same affect on my unfortunately.

I don't hate it, I like it.

I guess I was just hoping for a more traditional grey/blue with the oval.

No ears on emblem isn't a new thing either.

So far the suit is a solid 7.8 for me.

Grade may change in the near future.

(Get it? cause we haven't seen the ears in the cowl??? :oldrazz:)

What's this Batmobile rumor? And doesn't Aranofsky's script have him losing his fortune after his parent's death? If that's the route taken, that might explain the hand-stitched-ness of the cowl.

I'll withhold any real judgement but as a general direction, I'm disappointed to see them leaning towards armor again. It's a weird clash with the stitched cowl. I like the collar/cape.

See to me this is the exact opposite of the Ben Affleck Batman reveal, particularly in the black and white, with the sad depressed look.

I was just like whatever. It was just a lazy literal translation of TDK returns suit, complete with the bulbous fat bat symbol, only given real world texture ... and removal of the stupid diapers.

This actually looks inspired. And unique. Thus more interesting as an adaptation.

In combination with a more inspired casting of an actor in the suit, and the guy who to be frank is a way better actor than Ben Affleck.

Now watch months go by before we get a full look. :funny:

I don't disagree with your post. Just different opinions regarding the 14 reveal and the 2020 reveal.
