The BATSUIT Thread

See to me doing a darker version of the West cowl is neat.
It's neat but it's not necessarily the sorta thing I'd want to see an actor wear for a serious, big budget Hollywood movie. Though I'm not sure this is a takeoff of the Adam West cowl. I'd have to see more of it. From what I can tell, however, it is closer to the West version than the '39 style, which many have been comparing it to.

Because it looks better for it.
But that is the point of my post if you read the whole thing. We DO NOT KNOW that it will actually look better in live action. Just because you can draw something doesn't mean it will work in real life or that you can construct an actual garment to actually look like that.

The closest mouth openings we have had to that (Keaton) had gaping issues when Batman turned and moved his head certain ways. There has to be a reason why Snyder and Wilkinson did not adapt that design for BvS when they were so very literal in adapting the rest of the TDKReturns suit.

It may be that this mouth opening does a better job of approximating the look of the comics opening from all angles in live action. It has the benefit of using the edge of Pattinson's jaw to create a natural edge and presumably keep the cowl edge fixed in place.

I wouldn't be mad if this turned out to be real.

To everyone talking about the Batsymbol - since when has Batman been known for using knives? Enough to justify turning his defining insignia into them? Not to mention we have canon precedent for him using Joe Chill's gun to make his logo. Occam's razor guys.

Occam's razor? You really think the simplest explanation is that Bruce tracked down his parents murder weapon, cut it in half, added pieces that clearly aren't part of a gun, and now wears it on his chest?

No, the simplest explanation is that it's a chest emblem and nothing more, but damned if it doesn't look like two detachable components (hence the batarangs/blade theory).

It’s already been confirmed that it’s a gun, I’m searching the model now..
If you’re thinking about this:

I hope you’re aware that the image on the right isn’t an actual model, it’s just the parts of the batsymbol superimposed onto it.

I’m still personally maintaining the belief that people are getting a taaad carried away with the gun talk. Some are seemingly spouting it as fact. But hey, speculation is speculation. I’m personally not convinced.

No.

I am pointing out that if we're assuming it is something more than just an emblem, then between knives and a gun, there is much more supporting it being the gun. It is the simpler explanation of the two.

I've never disputed the Batarang idea, that was my first thought too.

There is literally zero evidence that it's a gun, while there are clearly knife components and blades. It's most likely batarangs, but the gun theory is based on nothing more than conjecture.

I'm shocked goons don't try and grab him by the ears during fights. Or him constantly hitting the top of door frame when he enters a room. :hehe:

To me that look reminds me instantly early 90's batman. I have comics of the Kelly Jone's era of comics and loved it as a kid...

Also, to me, it's extremely obvious it's a gun.
Maybe it also works as a batarang now that he cut it in half, but c'mon...

Obviously there are design differences since all guns are different, but it seems pretty clear to me that all the pieces are there.
Perhaps it'd be easier if we could find the exact model of the gun... anyone know a good gun nuts website that can help? :o

After a few days of looking at it, the nose/forehead don’t sit right with me. Batman’s brow should always be furrowed, to give him a serious/menacing look. It’s too expressionless at this point
I think this makes it creepier.
