The BATSUIT Thread

I see it as the opposite. I see it as a more unsuccessful take on TDK armor. I would take that suit over this any day, and I'm not a fan of that suit.

The legs, midsection, symbol, and general cowl shape of this suit dunk on the TDK suit all day for me. Doesn’t really mean anything until I see Pattinson lit and moving in it, granted.

Great point about small details. The Nolan suit was just too refined given what it was. This seems to have a lot of details and things and idk seems to have really cool design elements. More of a fan the more I look at it. I think it will grow on people.

New 52 was black / grey classic comic take on Nolan’s refined technological body armor seen in TDK trilogy.

This suit is literally live action Year Zero. No purple gloves.

Down to ear length and shape. Looking slightly baggier or extra ruggedly tactical and unrefined.

When I first saw the twitter pic I was.... Ehhhhh...

These are a bit more flattering and yes, it is a stunt suit, and yes the actual process of getting it on film will make it look better no doubt.

I think it's a bit weird and clunky-looking, and I'm distracted by the darts (?) on his arms, but I need better pics/context than just a stunt double doing rehearsals.

Ugly as hell. Bloody hideous. Looks like he ordered some tactical armor and put a cheap cowl and bat symbol on it.

That's the critique it's been hit with since the reveal video, something we can all agree on.

I acknowledge that this is a stuntman in a stuntsuit and unofficial pics. And that everything will likely look better when it's actually Pattionson in his own suit, with official pics and story context etc.

But just so far, this thing is horrendous.

the goofy undefined floppy ears

the bulbous yet undefined cowl

the giant BUG eyes

the overly busy forearm guards

the floppy scallops on the gauntlets looking like possible straps.

Without proper theatrical or atmospheric lighting. Plus no cape.

Not every Bat suit can be the TDK/TDKR suit where it looks damn imposing in broad daylight or harsh lighting.

It’s a stunt suit. After the blurry, dark red screen test tease ... Reeve’s should’ve known better and released a traditional Burton / Nolan / Snyder style atmospheric promotional shot to circumvent the potential irrational quick first judgments.

I agree, you can tell the freaking cowl doesn't fit right on this stunt guy. Frustrating that our first full look of the suit is the stunt double and not Robert.

As far as a "first full look" goes, this is pretty much worse case scenario. I dig it because I can imagine how it'll actually look like, but this is really not the sort of thing you want people to see online and spread as a first full look, it's kinda horrible for a first full look.

Because I find every aspect of the thing (except the symbol, which is pretty nice) extremely ugly. The head shape, the overly clunky armour and straps, the damn collar, certainly the ridiculous ears.

Again, Pattinson/hero suit and official images and most importantly story context could at least make me respect it, but so far... it's just as ugly as that Gotham show thing.

It’s funny how so many people are getting worked up on a suit that will eventually change in this Trilogy. Batman isn’t going to even wear this suit the entire time throughout three films.
