The BATSUIT Thread

Doesn’t look fat or bloated here.
Yes he does LOL not to mention the obvious overly designed inner musculature. It’s not meant to be surface level armor which just makes it all the more ridiculous looking

i like it. It actually does look like a prototype kind of suit that could eventually get updated across films or whatever. Reminds me of a samurai. The gauntlets are kinda absurd, but i Imagine they're gonna be used for something, and the ears and top of the head are quite funny looking, very bulbous. I'm not in the "this is awful and its not what i want so its bad" crew, but I don't love it either. It's fine. I'm much more interested in other stuff than how much I like or dislike the suit.

This actually seems to put some people off from the movie as a whole and that's insane to me.

I figured out what was what was bothering me.

The shoulder pads look more like kneepads for kneeling in construction than shoulder pads!!

Also, no one has commented on the belt.
It's ok. I like the iron buckle.

Somehow to me the Batman Returns suit was perfection. It just looks so so damn fantastic!!

the current suit I think really borrows a lot from Miller’s JL Mortal Batman suit with the much more mechanical, pistons, springs, clasps and locks approach, which I mentioned that they probably would sometime back in prior posts. I suspect he will get a new sleeker suit if rumors are to be believed.

I get a sense from the film that Batman will get royally emotionally screwed over. Like something will drive him to the point of questioning everything he’s doing before becoming even harder, more brutal and tougher. I get a sense that this 2 years in Batman will still be a little naive but brilliant.

No. He looks buff as Hell! Kinda like this guy. View attachment 32147

Sorry but to me he looks like a guy in a fake buff suit. No material in the world conforms to muscles this way, so it just seems like in-universe Bruce Wayne went out of his way to glue foam muscles into his suit. If you put Brock Lesnar in a spandex suit, he wouldn't look like Batfleck.

The Man of Steel suit had accentuated muscles but did so in a way that looked natural. The Snyder Batman and Superman suits that came after that went muscle-crazy to the point of absurdity.

Oh I think they grasp the opinion of the overwhelming majority.

Still waiting to see how it will look in camera test.
I don’t think they’re too worried about reactions to a stunt version of their suit in set pictures. :funny:

What’s bothering me is the bug eyes, and I’m assuming the lenses are just for the stunt guy. Hopefully.

Because that’s a terrible look, just like the Oakley sunglasses on the stupid justice league suit.

But mainly what looks so goofy is those years. They really look like damn antennas. On a bug. In combination with the big lenses and round eyes. It didn’t look like that in the screen test.

I was really hoping we would get a Bob Kane 1939 type mask and ears. This is more like years zero. But they’re just so thin.

Hopefully they only look all this flimsy and antenna like on the stunt cowl.

I was really hoping we’d get a mask and ears akin to that Mezco One 12 figure that modernized the original OG Bob Kane 1939 look.

Ding, ding

Man of steel was more naturalistic, trying to emulate Christopher Nolan. It also makes sense because he was a more hands-on producer for that film.

The Man of Steel suit looks literally perfect.

Then like you said, Zack Snyder was unleashed and BAM homoerotic levels of sexualizing the male anatomy. Just as he did in 300 and Watchmen. Etc.

There is no way that I could realistically buy a fictional billionaire would make a mask so cheap looking.

How is it even possible that the design was given final approval?

Say what you will about Ben's Batman but most would agree that his costume looked great from top to bottom.

I like it.

It's an interesting mix of different versions of the suit. As noted, there's some hints of the Bill Finger's work and the Adam West suit. Also the obvious hints of the more modern takes we've seen in the Arkham games. It's not too surprising that the suit calls back to all that stuff.

I really like the music and vibes it's giving off. A quiet darkness, fury, aggressiveness, etc. that I've assumed was how Reeves and Pattinson with their more detective approach to the character.

The red tone was giving me some Beware the Batman opening theme sequence vibes. Still feel that show was lowkey underrated.

Still wish we got the good ol' gray and blue, yellow oval, and trunks. :argh:

Dat skrong chin, tho. :o
My feelings on the new pic are a mix of indifference (since it’s a stunt suit) and...

He didn’t buy it. He probably made it.

Even for a billionaire, I could realistically see aspects to the bat suit that are completely handmade. The stuff you can’t just go buy.

Like the mask. He had to piece it together in Begins as well. Granted his mask was made of graphite.

The Affleck mask I assumed was rubber, and then it was shown that there was an under layer of armor underneath it

No you can have your opinion LOL nobody’s taking that away from you. Just saying it sucks.

I’m sorry am I not allowed to have my opinion on other peoples terrible opinions?

I mean there are some idiot generation Z kids that think LeBron James is better than Michael Jordan. That’s their opinion, and it’s rooted and nothing factual, and is a horrendous take. That’s quite ill informed.

Same diff here.
Yes....you are allowed to have your opinion on other people's opinions....but you are NOT allowed to insult them for having them. Be more civil in your postings.
