The BATSUIT Thread

I just find it frustrating that they didn’t continue on the path the Batfleck suits were on. Those suits weren’t perfect but they were on the right track. It felt like we were so close to getting the perfect Batman suit. This suit is too much of a reinvention to be considered a “definitive” Batman suit. Even the staunchest supporters of this suit concede that it works best as a prototype suit.

The “saving things for a sequel” culture has historically not worked well for WB. We’re consoled by the idea that a sequel would promise us a more professional looking suit. A sequel is far from promised to us, why can’t we have an awesome, fully formed suit now?

The armor plating feels like a step back. I would’ve much preferred a more cloth like material similar to the BVS suit. Durable, yet thin enough to be flexible. With another later underneath that is slightly more armored.

These are much more in line with what I wanted:

These are exactly what I was hoping for, but I don't have a problem with the suit as is.

We might these type of suits in the future or upgraded version of this suit.I heard that Matt wants to keep his Batman armored which I don't mind at all.:ybat:

Yeah the cowl is pretty dissapointing and just doesn't scream "Batman" in its lines and design elements (it's more Tick + Daredevil than Batman).

And I've saved a bunch of fanmade concept art of Battinson that I really liked in my computer so I would compare them to the actual suit we'd get and it's really dissapointing that pretty much all of these are better than what we got.

I don’t think it has to do with saving things for a sequel. Definitive is going to mean different things to different people. And even if Reeves’ definition is in line with yours, this story may not call for a definitive bat suit in the first two years of Batman’s career. We know he goes through a transformation in order to arrive at the end of the film, as the world’s greatest detective. So he has a specific story in mind. The suit has to reflect that. You’re basically asking him and every director to come out with the definitive bat suit right out of the gate, just for the sake of it, without thinking about context and story. Which is more important than satisfying the needs of the fan.

idk why everyone is so hung up & assuming there won't be tweaks to this suit in either this film or the next. There's clearly a certain vibe they're going for. It's not like it's Batman in Year 20, it's Year 2. It'd be like looking at Zero Year or Earth One and being angered that it's not a fully developed batsuit. As he progresses his suits will as well, that's exactly why you give him a makeshift suit in the first place.

Liking or disliking the suit itself is one thing and totally fine on its own btw, but acting like the suit doesn't serve a function/purpose is a bit of a disservice.

My little arc with the suit, as someone who was hoping for something else, mostly revolves around embracing the little details I love and having it give a window into the overall vibe of the movie. I'm more excited by the prospect of Reeves getting to make exactly the movie he has in his head rather than the one in mine.

I’m not going to align with your narrow parameters of what is acceptable to say on here. It’s weird how you have an uncontrollable urge to discredit me every time I talk about disliking the suit, it’s not like you designed it yourself. You’re taking it really personally, getting salty that someone doesn’t like the same thing you do. Who cares?

Is calling the cowl inexcusable really that crazy? There is no excuse for the cowl being that ugly when we have had so many wonderful cowls in the past. I find it hideous.

I suggest you sit back and try to relax. Accept the fact that not everyone is going to agree with you. It’s all good.

also this post is incredibly cringe and speaks to your lack of forum experience. I said the Arkham Origins suit is an example of a tactical suit done right and you say this...It’s not necessary for someone to say “IMO” before they state every single opinion they have. You do not understand this. I have encountered this problem with people on here a few times. Why can’t we state our opinions without having to preface it with an “IMO”? Does it not register with you as an opinion unless clearly stated as such?

I tend to be hyperbolic, this whole situation of me having nearly 20k posts about superheroes is inherently ridiculous, I think hyperbole should be encouraged. Do people have to tell you when they’re using hyperbole, lest you not understand and take everything literally? That’s the impression I’m getting here.

Lol i haven't taken anything personally. There's no malice here. Your comments aren't towards me. I just find your vernacular absurd. Again, if anyone is "visibly" irritated it seems to be you. I'm not bothered. You seem to purposefully have ignored the rest of my comment where I said you not liking the suit doesn't bother me. I don't need verification for hyperbolic statements and I don't need for anyone to state that what they post here or there is their opinion. Yours just happen to be absurd sometimes. That's all. You seem more peeved than me.

Second one is so damn perfect. Would've loved that. I think the one we have is okay, the top of the cowl and the apparent bagginess of some parts of the suit are my only gripes, but other than that I like it.

I guess the cowl saves the suit from being completely bad. I understand this is still basically a beginner Batman but I could've gotten behind the design if it was less overdesigned and more minimalistic and sleek. That's sort of the vibe I was getting from that teaser image.

Oh well.. :(

Which teaser image?

Not me. I think this is a perfect realistic practical suit that even a Batman in his prime could wear as the definitive suit.

Well, for me it's more a matter of not caring about this function it supposedly serves.

I don't know, out of all the Batmen, I find that Keaton looked best, and he had to move his whole body to look in a different direction :funny: I just don't care for so called realism like this since it looks so ugly. At least find some common ground.

I agree completely. Imo the best cowl we’ve ever had was the Returns one.

And Kilmer's IMO.
I didn't have a problem with Val's Batman suit at all and the Robin suit wasn't too bad either. I think it's because of Batman & Robin that nobody want to give Batman Forever no props. The movie was silly yes but it has some good moments too. While Batman & Robin had the Alfred moments and Hmmmm well Uma Thurman and Vivica A. Fox was hot!!! That is all oh yeah it had Coolio and the soundtrack had that Bones N Thugs song lol
