Has to be.What am I looking at here? Stand-ins?
This cowl completely ends the white eye discourse for me. The way Pattinson was able to express himself with his eyes was masterful.
Pattinson's performance is so heavily based around how expressive his eyes are that there's no way they'd ever cover them up. There are movies where white eyes would work, this absolutely is not one of them.Using an in-universe rationale, he's already wearing contact lenses--why not make them all-white? It would just add to the supernatural effect Batman goes for with the costume motif. The only problem would be Pattinson's comfort level (he probably wears corrective contacts but I don't know if cosplay-style gimmicky lenses are different). I wouldn't want it to hinder his performance. But I like to mull the 'what if.'

Also the contacts can't be any more visible than regular contacts or the sequence where Selina uses them wouldn't make sense.
Imagine still wanting the white eyes on movie Batman after seeing what Pattinson did with his eyes in The Batman.
I dont even know why to have a Rubber suit so big.
Affleck is tall as heck and he was on a great shape.
No need for Batman to have a Hulk body-type and he was an old Man, goddamn.
A slim BvS' batsuit would be so great.
Imagine thinking I want it more than I'm trying to just think of a way it could still work. It's a discussion thread; I'm finding something to discuss. It doesn't all have to be a big circlewank.
Doesn't have to be mutually exclusive. An oft repeated suggestion is to utilize it for when he's in "detective" mode or in need of night-vision. Much like the Arkham games.I was not directing this to you or anyone in particular, but OK I'll bite. Nothing of what you wrote seems convincing to me, it reads like trying to force something just to be comicbook acurate, not everything can be translated with the same results as in the pages, and. Again, Pattinson's performane pretty much has cemented that to me..like that scene were he thinks Riddler knows his identity..with some sort of contacts? Not for me really

The use of actual contact lenses in-universe is just one step away from that idea coming to fruition.

Please no. That does nothing for me. Riddick worked because Diesel isn't exactly the most emotive actor and you aren't losing a ton by doing that.Doesn't have to be mutually exclusive. By Rob's own admission, it's not the eyes doing the acting. It's everything else around his eyes (like the brows) which limited his ability to emote in the way he wanted to.Please no. However, this is a totally different situation. Pattinson is so incredibly effective with his eyes, including during action sequences. We would be losing too much even with the whole detective vision thing. The white eyes in the comics work because they are drawn with the full range of human expression and emotion. It works within the medium.
But there is so many more interesting and subtle things going on with real human eyes in live action. Any lens, contact or otherwise, are a no go for me and hopefully for Reeves.
You can take away Battinson's eyes over my dead body!![]()
If Rob said his eyes aren’t doing any acting, he’s wrong about his own performance.By Rob's own admission, it's not the eyes doing the acting. It's everything else around his eyes (like the brows) which limited his ability to emote in the way he wanted to.
Obviously he worked his way around it.
But nothing about the contact lenses (at least the way I've proposed it) hinders anything Rob did in this movie. All it literally does is change the color of the iris and pupil. Now if you're going to argue those are essential to the performance, that's when I'll call BS.
He's not though. If Rob said his eyes aren’t doing any acting, he’s wrong about his own performance.
First off, I've seen several actors in heavy prosthetics in the past complain about colour contacts bother their eyes and interfering with their performance. In particular, the sort of contacts you are mentioning interfere with an actor's vision and as we all know how much actors complain about green screen acting, being able to take in the set and other actors affects the performance.By Rob's own admission, it's not the eyes doing the acting.
