For the sequel, do you want to see a new Batsuit? If so, would you prefer subtle changes or a dramatic overhaul?

For me personally, if they go with the same look, I’m fine with it. The suit looked great. But I would tweak two things. First, the nose piece was a little weird. It looked like it wasn’t part or the mask and was added later. I would also remove the collar. I know his suit only mildly resembles a bat but the collar kind of ruins the “bat silhouette” concept.

Now, if we’re talking more radical changes… it’s interesting that they had a blue and gray suit in the initial concept art. Could we see him finally don his classic colors on film? It’s not something I necessarily NEED to see but… the prospect of it intrigues me.

This, but with the movie cowl and collar, keep everything else as is in the concept art. That way, you get the perfect upgraded suit.

I agree that the lenses maybe don't work for Pattinson's* take on the character, since Reeves made it a point to empathize his eyes.

But the past iterations could've easily gotten away with having them, esp Affleck

I’d be willing to accept certain changes (very rarely does exactly the same suit carry over from one film to the next), but at this point I’m willing to physically fight anyone who says to get rid of the collar.

Oh absolutely, anybody that so much as touches the collar...will have to throw hands with me.
As for changes, i assume we get more high tech looking since he will use the wayne money...which im all here for.

I do hope for dramatic effect we get at least a few scenes with a cape that wraps around him...i need him to be more Mysterious and stealthy.

But in general im letting them surprise me, they definitly hit the right notes with the suit so far to me, so i have faith that they come up with good changes.

Yeah. Affleck just never had the combination of intensity and borderline insanity that you need to pull off Batman IMO. And that suit did him no favors. It was so bulky that (other than the warehouse scene) he looked like he could barely move.

I'm completely in love with this suit but if I had to change anything it would be something simpler and less bulky for the gauntlets. The popping grappling hook can stay but I'd lose all the darts on the forearm. The other thing would be to add the scallops on the cape. I'd like them to be rough looking, like if that thing had been through hell. I just want Batman to stay with that "noir punk" aesthetic.

I don't have a problem with the nose on the cowl at all, and I hope it stays the same. It's a nice reminder of the past but almost looks like a band-aid, like for a boxer. And it's already iconic to me, I could sketch this mask quickly on paper, with this square shape for the nose and it would be immediately identifiable. I love design choices like this, simple yet unique.

Either way, if things are to change, I just hope the suit doesn't go in a more armored direction. I'm just tired of these over-designed robotic looks, I honestly think it's already outdated but more importantly, it just misses the point for Batman. His roots are in the "roman noir", the "hard-boiled novel". To me, Reeves finds the perfect balance by limiting that kind of techy protection to the torso, keeping it simple in design, while opting for something more homemade looking for the rest.
I've always wanted something in the spirit of Batman Year 100, and I feel like what the movie gave us shares some DNA with it, so I'm completely happy as it is!

Did he ever use the darts on the gauntlets? I don’t remember that happening. If not, then I might lose them unless they actually serve a purpose in the next film. I don’t have a problem with them but if we never actually get to see what they can do then maybe they don’t need to be there?

Even if I liked Affleck in the role I completely agree with this, to me the actor they choose for Bruce/Batman has to have a certain intensity in the eyes, so far the only actors that IMO did not fit that criteria were Clooney and Affleck; for that and many more reasons Pattinson is a perfect pick for my money.

Thats why I never wanted Armie Hammer in the role, I mean waaaay before his real life controversy, I never saw that in his eyes (ironic, I know).

Every Batman has had a decked-out utility belt with compartments and tools that we never actually see used, but because we know the utilitarian nature of the character we know those things have a purpose and function, especially so with this Batman.

Having said that, it would've been nice to see the darts used. In part just to clarify what they were. There was evidence based on a toy that they were grapple-gun ammunition, but recent concept art called them bo-shuriken. Given how noticeable they are in the design it I wish there had been a moment to showcase them, same for whatever he had in the side-holster.

They were used but not blatantly. It was used when he grappled up to riddler’s apartment. That huge grapple went up through the window and brought him up before kicking down the door. He probably used both the long dart grapple and the leg grappled gun there.

I'd like to see slight upgrades, but the only thing I'd add are the wrist "blades" or wings or what do you call them? I didn't miss them when I watch the movie, but it'd be nice to see them and could still fit into the utilitarian philosophy of this suit.

Yeah, this is pretty close to the enhancements I would want over the current suit in a sequel. Keep as much of it as possible the same, just tweak the cowl, neck and cape attachment slightly to give a sense of some refinement and upgrades between the two films. A fully encompassing cape with a scalloped hem would be great and give the sense of greater refinement.

Make the utility belt a little more compact by getting rid of the leg holster as shown here. I would really love them to change the colour of the belt to a brown leather. I think the addition of a tertiary colour is especially important with a primary black, grey colour scheme. It risks looking monotonous. Brown leather looks equally grounded and functional, but breaks up the black and grey in the same way as the traditional yellow/gold utility belt.

Last, maybe give the gauntlets real blades for added functionality.

Then, for Part III, after Bruce has adopted Dick, maybe switch to a navy blue/black colour for the cowl and cape to show Bruce's evolution to being more well-rounded.

I'm not so sure that was a different grapple than the wrist-mounted one. I don't think it looked any different or any larger.

I don't care wether is realistic or not, you NEVER want to hide that jawline, keep the mouth opening as is for the sequels.

Agreed. The belt wouldn't need to be more advanced per se, but I think switching to a brown leather would do a wonderful job breaking up the black and grey of the rest of the suit.

I wouldn't mind some minor tweaks to the ears and nose to make the cowl look slightly more like Neal Adams Batman. It is so bloody close already, that I wouldn't mind them perfecting it. The reinforced squared off nose is mean to make him look like a rough and tumble brawler as well as serve as a nod to Adam West. A more pointed nose would make this Batman look more refined and experienced. Similarly, widening the ears a little from the side would prevent those antenna criticisms from some folks.

Adding scallops to the cape would also be nice and would fit with Bruce upgrading from wingsuit to more traditional cape gliding.

However, if the choice is between the current suit and a whole new suit, I would prefer they stick with this one. I don't want a repeat of what happened between Begins and The Dark Knight where we went from a generally well liked suit, that we wanted minor tweaks of, to a completely new suit that was horrendously ugly.

A failed attempt at translating The Dark Knight Returns, the movie Zack Snyder really wanted to make and probably should've, which could've prevented a lot of this nonsense.

This suit is great and the best we've had so far by a country mile!

Ever since I was a kid the fact that from Batman 89 onwards all the suits have been rubber has always bugged me. I just don't get it, I've mentioned before that I'm not personally an MCU fan, but when it comes to the suits they more often than not get it right.

DC costume designers have a wierd fixation with rubber! I just don't get it!

Any argument that it's for "realism" to show some type of armour is nonsensical. I'm just as happy to believe a suit like the winter soldier suit is made of kevlar and essentially bullet proof.

It's crazy that batman movies have held themselves to this weird standard. Just watch any bond or mission impossible movie, they have completely outlandish tech and gadgets but the audience can believe its still something that exists in the "real" world that's been presented in those films, but a batman movie all of a sudden can't have these elements because it's too unbelievable!

I just hope moving forward we get a suit that looks the part ut doesn't give the actor PTSD!
