Yea thats one thing Ive been wandering is what is the connection between V-world and the future. Is it just a way of showing how reliant Caprican society became on technology or is there a bigger connection? And how the hell is the timeslot messing it up for you guys??? It has the EXACT same timeslot that BSG did?!? What the frak?!?!

BSG had more guns, explosions and action. It was more exciting... meaning the late slot was not an issue. But Caprica lacks that completely. It's a very interesting show, but it's certainly not as exciting as BSG. That coupled with the lack of clear direction at the moment, lets me doze off during the commercials... then I've got to DL the thing the next morning (early seasons of Lost were like this too) . Internet Piracy as a result of a poor timeslot (reminds me of BSG season 1, where the show was being DL'd so much because it had aired in the UK 8 months earlier than in north america, and Moore and Eick were moaning about the piracy, which in essence, was a result of their poor decisions)

IMO, they should put Caprica in SGU's timeslot, and throw SGU in the giant trash heap behind the SIFi building.

For me, what Caprica really needs is that episode that clinches the series for me. In BSG, that was Hand of God. In DS9, it was Way of the Warrior. Lost: through the looking glass. That episode which kind of sends the series off in a definate direction.

I have to agree with everything you just said. While the show is super interesting and well acted it seems like it's missing something and it certainly doesn't have that BSG feel to it. I'm definitely not going to stop watching anytime soon but I am expecting more.

I dunno I see what you guys are saying but I dont whole-heartedly agree. For one Im not in this for lots of action and big dogfights and all that. Im into this for the compelling and intrigueing character dynamics and the idea of the first real family drama just set in a sci/fi atmosphere. Plus all the complex themes of the implications of AI and technology run amok. The transcendent almost intrinsic atmosphere and tone of the show. Thats what is making this show so great for me. I see things like this and say "Wow this is the future of science fiction" And I get really excited about something like this coming along and changing the face of popular sci/fi television shows

OMG I love it...

don't get me wrong, I love the atmosphere, and am very interested to see where it all goes. It's just a little slow. I'm not looking for action. I'm not expecting it. I just want to see the plot start moving forward a little bit faster.

I like the speed that the plot is moving at right now. Especially with the last 2 eps it has started to build up steam and is getting to that point where something pivotal and definate is about to happen. You can see it coming and theres just so many things I cant wait to see go down ie Daniel finding out about Zoe, Clarice and all the crazy **** going on with her, Lacy and Keon although somewhat my least favorite part so far is only going to get better once they meet with Barnabus Greely. Also after seeing lil Willie step up and beat the **** outta that kid twice his size was insane, a friend was watching with me and when we saw that part we were both like "Oh snap!!!" Lol it was actually kinda funny. I dunno I just find this series to be a breath of fresh air on a channel like SyFy

rewatching Daybreak... when Bill breaks down, and decides that the cushy job is not worth it... I'm sure they'll link that up somewhere. As he was being questioned about stealing money.

Apotheosis was the beginning before the beginning: one of the hybrids spit that out at some point. I wonder if it links with Clarice's conversation in Vworld.

That was a fantastic episode. Not much happened... but I find myself very much more interested in seeing where this will go. The Tauron stuff is beginning to be entertaining... and make more sense as to why they were bombarding us with so much Tauron culture over the last few episodes.

I really like Tomas whathisface... he seems like a really interesting new character. This show has been lacking some sort of antagonist... and in this episode we got introduced to 2.

looking forward to future episodes

I've really been enjoying the show so far. I don't understand the constant griping of "slow" I hear about it. Why did everyone want action, dogfights, etc. when we were told from the getgo that we weren't getting that? Why watch it at all then?

I'm a little tired of seeing Patton Oswalt every week(I like him, but come on..every week?) and Adama's daughter's situation is interesting but I don't want to spend a billion episodes of her in V-world roleplaying like last week. I like where it could lead but I don't want to see her have "adventures" there.

I do love all this Tauron culture stuff though.

Question for the board: what do you think of the actress who plays Zoe..physically? I ask because I hear a lot of people on other forums call her(get this)..FAT. To me, that's insane. If she's fat, WHAT is thin? Anybody else think that's nuts?

I LOOOOOVE Zoe. Absolutely love that girl she is just adorable. That dance scene with her and the nerdy dude was soooo sexy. Anyone that thinks shes fat is insane and in all probability their eyes arent spaced apart proportionately

Anybody else think "Oh damn Barnabus is Opus Dei!" When it showed him chastising himself. Gotta say he was alot more hardcore with that chain than the albino monk in Da Vinci Code thats for sure with that whole damn thing going up his entire arm. That would be insanely painful

that's not what I was saying... it's just a slower less 'exciting' show... and the reason I was griping a little, was more that the late hour of the show is difficult to survive through, that is all.

as I was complaining a little before, after last night, I'm much happier. There was a lack of direction before... but now with the introduction of the antagonists, the show feels very much more complete. (from what was delivered, and my avoidance of spoilers, I wasn't sure if there were actually going to be antagonists, but rather these groups of people antagonizing themselves, which is what it's felt like up to now). With the introduction of the Tauron billionaire, and Spike, things are more interesting, for me atleast.

I was also finding the STO a bit too mysterious, and a little too confusing. It's much more clear now that there are two cells, one violent, the other insidious.

Ive been nuthin but happy with the show. There creating a pretty unique universe. Its alot different than Caprica just before the fall too. After the Cylon wars did they revert back to simpler technology or something?

before/during the cylon war they reverted, BSG episode 1 explains that.

like you, I've been interested, but not enthralled. But I'm getting there now.

What Im loving is that this isnt a big space-opera. Its essentially a family drama with lots of political, criminal, and cultural intrigue set in a sci/fi setting with deep philisophical themes and symbolism. Thats what I love about it. Its basically the apotheosis of what I look for in a good show ie BSG,Lost, Carnivale all come to mind course with various differences

me too, that's what I like about it... but it was lacking focus until this week IMO... happily cured now

Im still just geeking the hell out over Barnabus. What an awesome introduction to what will be a great character especially since its ****ing Marsters! Loving it

me too, he rules... but I liked the Tauron Billionaire a lot more

Yea who is the guy playing him? The scene at the end with him and Daniel was great. I still dont know what to really think about the whole STO though. They seem pretty antagonistic to me lol But they are making them seem very sympathetic in their cause. And now with Barnabus who knows what were in store for cuz you can tell hes one guy you dont **** with. It sounded almost like Clarice and everyone else were almost scared of him. And I think it was a nice little twist how they revealed Keon actually built the bomb Ben detonated

me too, I guess it was just taking a little too long for the connections to start developing... but I'm far more interested now that those dots are becomeing connected.

So I just finished Battlestar Galactica last night. Holy ****.

Maybe the best show on television in the last several years? Maybe the best show on television ever?

Also, I can't believe so many people thought BSG had a bad finale. Frak those guys. Aside from the whole "Technology is evil and robots are out to get you" bit at the very end, I loved it.

On Caprica: I like the show, but it hasn't grabbed me yet. BSG literally had me hooked within the first ten minutes of the pilot and we're now several episodes into Caprica and it's not really doing anything for me. Yet.

Welcome to the team. How did 'they' expect it to end? It's not like the show didn't follow the almost exact same overall concept of the original. Feel the same 'bout Caprica, hasn't hooked me like BSG did....

But, last night was great. With the primary protagonist finally doing something, the show feels like it has a lot more focus. It was hilarious watching Joseph in NCC. The portrayal of how the different generations regard the technology is fantastic. Especially when he killed his guide... and how the kid whined afterwards, awesome. The number of metaphors that they can pull out of this 'matrix' like alegory for our contemporary internet is endless.

The stuff with Chloe and the Lab Assistant is good too. Kind of love how he's infatuated with both versions of Chloe, without knowing it. It's also hilarious how he keeps getting busted by Graystone doing lude things... but Daniel doesn't know it's with his daughter yet.

The STO stuff is the least interesting bit for me. Prolly because were only seeing the happy and good cell of the organization. It was a little dissappointing we didn't get more bardabus this week. It would also be nice to get around a little. There has been so much focus on Tauron culture, it would be nice if the narrative took us there, likewise for Gemenon. Would also like to see a little more about the religion... as it seems that STO is rebelling against multitheists. It would be nice to see the familiar oracles and the kamala kicked around,,, to contrast against the beliefs of the monotheists

the preview for next week looks off the hook though.
