The Battlestar Galactica and Caprica Discussion Thread

I just spent the past two weeks going through the BSG series and thanks to it, my biological clock has been thrown out of whack. But it was totally worth it. What a show. Not perfect, but then, what show is?

The filler episodes were tedious and occasionally, it seemed like they were making things up on the fly, not even trying to hide it at times when they just tacked on flashbacks to justify a certain new plot coming out of nowhere. On the whole, however, it was absolutely worth getting into, certain loose ends (read: Kara) notwithstanding; for the awesome comeuppance moments and Adama's grandstanding speeches, of which the show has plenty, if nothing else. Oh, and Brother Cavil's hilarious lines, of course. That man breathes sarcasm.

I'll be getting into Caprica later. Watching lighter shows like Chuck for now, to give my poor and abused brain a rest.

I cant believe it's been over a year since the finale, it really doesnt feel like it's been that long. I miss this damn show... Caprica's good, but it's just not the same.

I love Caprica man. I think it's been great so far and I seriously cant wait for it to return.

Oh, dont get me wrong, I love Caprica too. It just doesnt compare to BSG as far as I'm concerned.

I'm not too hot on Caprica. I'm certainly going to give it a second chance when it comes back on, but the first season did absolutely nothing for me.

Hopefully the new BSG spinoff will have a much stronger opening.

Siffy is working on another spinoff.

The network also is looking to order another “Battlestar”-related project. Details were slim, but Stern said the title would mark a return to the franchise’s space-opera roots.

“We’re looking for other ways to spin off ‘Battlestar’ beyond ‘Caprica,’” he said. “That world is so rich. We’re sitting down with (executive producer) Ron Moore and his team. It would not necessarily be a traditional series.”

Hmm... I hadn't heard that. Anything that keeps them away from making more **** reality shows, I guess.

I want some history. I would like to see the first cylon war or a show about the original thirteen tribes back before the holocaust of the thirteenth tribes home. I just really want a show with the battlestars back. I miss the military aspect of the show.

See thats what I love about Caprica though. It's not your run of the mill sci/fi show because it isn't a space opera. Its really a one of a kind show and theres never been nothing quite like it before, thats why I love Caprica. Don't get me wrong dog-fights in space (when in reality they wouldn't be like that at all) are cool don't get me wrong, and I always loved the militaristic feel of Battlestar but the entire BSG-verse isn't the military.

Yea I am very pissed about the wait. Especially after that EPIC treailer at the end of the winter finale. That trailer made the rest of the season look soooo ****ing epic its beyond words

50 bucks for 10 episodes seems a bit pricey... sure, I know it'll inevitably be on sale everywhere, but still...

I see nothing wrong with the half season sets, but they definitely shouldn't be that high priced.
