That was 5 years ago, clearly things have changed and Fox doesn't want to give the media rights to the Kingpin character.
Well how has it changed? How was MTV able to do this with their series?
What you think is irrelevant, its what copy right lawyers think that matters. Marvel has no control over the media rights once they give them away, why should sony allow the rights to Spidey to appear else where, what's in it for them. Marvel doesn't want their piece of the pie to shrink by paying Sony for character who would appear in maybe one episode.
It's ridiculous if you have all these characters appearing together in video games, but you can't have a cameo in an animated series. Why does Sony allow Spider-man to appear in video games with tons of other Marvel characters? Money and merchandising. Same with this series. It's more exposure and play for the character on a kids' show and network.
Irrelevant, Sony has the cartoon rights to Spider-Man, they determine which cartoons he appears in, not Marvel.
Does Sony even have anything to do with the current Spider-man series? They aren't listed as a producer on IMDB.
