if he's a musician he can make it out in the subways for a time. Otherwise it's selling his man-candy in The Village.:o

We may have to petition the mods to change his username from Calvin to "Rough Trade". :o

My studio is up for grabs. Not exactly Brooklyn or Queens. Jersey City. 30 minutes to NYC. Can't beat that s**t.

How much?

Rent's $625/month. Heat and water included. Granted, you don't really need heat right now, cuz it's f**king hot, but it'll come in handy in 3 months time. Trying to get someone to fill the space by August 1st.

Ah, I don't think I can make it up there that quickly.

Ah. Oh well. Anyway, search for places in Jersey City or Hoboken. Less expensive(for the most part) than the boroughs, and just as close to Manhattan.

Do you need to drive yourself, or is it easy to find some sort of public transportation like a bus/metro?

Living in Jersey, it's not necessary at all to have a vehicle. I'm assuming that you're mostly going to be in the city. There's busses, ferries, and trains to take you wherever you need to go. The PATH trains that run from Jersey to NYC run 24/7.

Hey, where's Chelsea? I'm looking at something on Craig's List, and it says the location is Chelsea.

Chelsea is smack in the middle of Manhattan. Madison Square Garden is located The Chelsea. It's not far from the Village, if I remember correctly. Not a bad area at all. A lot of business there. My wife was living in The Chelsea when we met.

Hm, I just applied to a writing job located there, sounded like something my qualifications were easily up for. They didn't list the pay though, so I'd have to find out about that. I gotta say, Craig's list has shown me that if I want to do something in writing, NY is WAY better than Pittsburgh. I don't think I found a single actual writing position available looking at the Pittsburgh employment guide. So again ( I think it was Abaddon?), thanks for the craig's list recommendation.

I already know the answer, I'm just looking for multiple methods of transportation.

Actually, its Penn Station to Tompkins Square Park.

No buses, no taxis.

You are very welcome. When are you planning the pre-move visit?

Well, depends on if they want a personal interview or not. I might consider using up the free plane ticket I have, thought it'd be a shame to use it up on such a short distance. A train's still 100 bucks round trip though, not super cheap.

Well, the counter is up to three now, I'm pacing myself at applying to one job per day. It becomes a lot easier once you've written up that first résumé.

I don't have a job.
I sleep till 1 and watch movies all night

Yeah, I've been doing that a lot. I'd rather have money to go out though.

Are you doing a lot of online applications through services like monster.com and careerbuilder.com?
