Infinity War The Black Order

I don't see them being taken out easily, but nerfed to a certain extent so fights against them can be believable? I think that is very possible. Remember, Nebula and Gamora effectively were in this same group, and are not OP characters. I expect these guys to be a little above them, but not OP.

I would care. It would really take away any tension/fear we feel for the heroes.

That can be reserved for Thanos. He's the only one who should be able to kill any of the Avengers/Guardians.

I wonder how many scenes the order gets. From the looks of it they appear to be in the film for the bulk of the runtime.

I just hope we don't have BW kicking the ass out of 1 of them. It should be taking like Falcon, Hawkeye, BW, Cap, Spiderman all doing their best to take out just 1.

The problem is there are so many superheroes already. And some of them need their endings addressed cos they might be gone after this wave. And then you need time to build up Thanos as well. When you factor all that in, there really isn't time to develop the black order other than them being Thanos's henchmen.

I seriously doubt the movie would have enough time to delve into any backstory or character development of the black order.

I'm really surprised they've managed to keep the voice actors a secret. It's 2 weeks before release. You would have thought we'd have an idea who it is...

I read that even Ebony Maw is a heavy hitter. I think we'll be pleasantly surprised how NOT Nerfed they are.

I get the feeling Cumberbatch is voicing one of them, like he did for Dormammu.

Each member should be "main villain" level. Not only would that raise the tension and stakes for our heroes... but it'd also help show that Thanos really is a next level threat we haven't seen in these films before.

Did you also read that
he got taken out by freaking Spider-Man?
:funny:

You say that like Spiderman is some weak *****. One of the heroes has to beat Maw and Spiderman is super strong, has super reflexes, and has super senses.

I didn't know that re. Cumberbatch voicing Dormammu!

I did wonder when Feige said they'd be recognisable voices, he didn't mean that they were easily recognisable famous voices (like Jeremy Irons for example) and that he actually meant they were using actors within the Avengers cast to voice them. I mean, why not? It worked for John Rhys Davies in Lord of the Rings.

For me he is the only who should be able to kill all of the Avengers together. The Black Order 1 on 1 should be capable of taking the majority of the Avengers out while the Outrider army should only be a threat to the weaker Avengers in huge numbers.

You are talking about from the 20 minute footage right? I mean I haven't read the full thing in detail, but I doubt they would show Ebony Maw getting killed considering that would be very spoilery and from what I have heard they were careful to avoid any big spoilers this early. Anyways, I do expect Spider-Man to be a problem in this movie, especially considering he's getting a substantial power upgrade with the Iron Spider suit.

The Russo Bros talk about the Black Order and other new characters a bit.

Whaaa? Logically, every one of these guys/gal should be able to take out all of the human & enhanced-but-basically-human Avengers. Not the big Hulk/Thor/Strange (and I'd even argue Maw's probably overall going to outpower current relative-newbie Strange, that scene's probably not just a one-off), but the rest? Yeah.

Won't play out that way of course, we basically know Natasha takes down Proxima, but probably with help from Steve/Sam/Wanda. But still, the Order are going to be individually a bigger deal than pretty much any of the villains we've seen so far, Ultron and maybe Abomination aside.

I think Wanda kills Proxima later on. Corvus is the first to die. Followed by Ebony Maw. And the last one left will be Cull who will probably be killed during the Battle of Wakanda.

Poor guys. I want them to hang around a while.

Yeah, but in the general scheme of the MCU their not all too important, irreplaceable or in the context of the MCu, hard to bring back in the future. Especially considering their other worldly origins.

So I wouldn't mind them dying in IW at all tbh.

I would have liked for them to make it into Avengers 4, and if not, at least the final battle of IW.

We don't actually KNOW they don't do we? It's all just guess work at this point based on some cleverly edited clips and some somewhat suspect Reddit "I've seen the movie!" spoilers. I too want them to stick around. I figured they'd obviously be defeated but skulk away.

Of course the Black Order has the capability to kill most of the Avengers. When I said that only Thanos should kill them, I meant that from a story perspective. I wouldn't want to see a character who's been around for multiple movies that we've grown to know and love killed by one of four minor new characters that frankly, probably won't survive Infinity War. If any of the Avengers/Guardians die, I'd rather see Thanos do it himself as opposed to one of his errand boys/girl. As it stands, I don't think any of the Black Order kill any established characters in the film except for maybe [BLACKOUT]Loki[/BLACKOUT], just a hunch going by what we've seen in the trailers.

Sometimes voice actors for these movies aren't revealed until a few days before release, and maybe not even then. We didn't know that Jennifer Connelly was the voice of Peter's suit (aka Karen) in Spider-Man: Homecoming until a day or two before that came out. I hope that we find out who's voicing them before release, because that would be the type of thing bugging me while watching the movie, trying to figure out who's voicing them.

No. I’m just going off bits and pieces in the thread without putting things together too clearly so it can still stay vague enough for when I see it lol. I don’t mind what happens during Avengers 4 but given how cool they are I wouldn’t want to lose any of them in the first half of IW.
