Age of Ultron The Black Widow Thread

Just saw Cap2 again and loved Black Widow in it. Hope much of this carries over into AoU.
 
Everytime I rewatch Cap2, I find something else I like.
 
I find about 20 new things I like!
 
Sameee haha. Tbh I've never really cared for Black Widow before Cap 2. Even in the comics, she never interested me. Cap 2 is arguably my favorite comic book movie along with TASM 2 (Don't judge me)
 
Haha, I need to see Cap 2 a few more times before I decide. I think it'll be around the level of the 1st Iron Man for me. But behind TDK for eg. Hopefully AoU storms straight into the undisputed no.1 spot.
 
I like TDK, I just feel its a tad overrated. Just was never that big of a fan of the Nolan series. Never felt Batman to me and sorta took itself to serious which is ironic with the Joker. The Winter Soldier just really did it for me cx It expanded on the mcu set up previously even without all of The Avengers and just felt more human to me idk. I loved the chemistry between Steve and Natasha. They felt like Siblings and it was nice to see. There was a lot of dark stuff, but there was plenty of light hearted scenes that balanced it

Well that's good news for Scarjo cause man, I am really liking her as Black Widow and she has grown on me over the years since Iron Man 2. Liked her in The Avengers, love her in Cap2. Can't wait to see more of her in the next few films, especially AOU and Cap 3

Agreed. I'm just nervous that Whedon will bring her back to being ultra deadpan and having semi super strength rather than how she was portrayed in TWS.

Whedon had to balance the scale of strenght from too many characters to show their differences in a very obvious way, so some of those were reduced and others were increased for doing so.

And concerning the 'deadpan', I think showing an 'apparently' emotionless Natasha, with sass and sarcasm was a good move concerning the character...Even though I loved her TWS portrayal, I always feel she was too open and playful in the film...A little bit is fine, but not that much, IMHO. She needs to keep the mistery!
 
BW has a playful and sassy streak in the comics as well, and it comes across mostly in either a. Her interactions with Bucky, or b. her interactions with her friends. So it was more than appropriate for TWS. She's not uber-serious badass spy-girl all the time, she does have a playfulness, sense of humor to her.
 
Great discussion going on over on the main board re BW's physicality in TWS and especially her fight with the WS.

So I am currently writing a story that takes place between Cap2 and AOU...no idea where to take it honestly...
 
Well I was thinking of some guy who is trying to adjust to everything thats happening in the world but the way I kind of branched off from what I wrote so far by adding a cameo appearance from Nick Fury trying to get Natasha to come with him to Europe, I figured Natasha should be the main character...I dunno ...
 
Congrats to Mrs Johansson... and I am refraining from calling her by the nickname...I read that she doesn't like it :p

Out of curiosity, with rumors existing about the possibility of Black Widow and Bruce Banner being a "thing" in this film and how some have expressed their dislike at that idea, I'm just curious...out of three main male Avengers that we've seen Natasha interact with the most, along with being paired up with the most by fans of the MCU, who would you guys prefer for Black Widow to be romantically linked to in the MCU IF she had to have a romantic partnership with one of her Avengers' teammates between...


1. Hawkeye/Clint Barton

2. Steve Rogers/Captain America

3. Bruce Banner/The Hulk


And more importantly, why as well?
