Age of Ultron The Black Widow Thread

Well Im sort of tied down in my story where she still has feelings for Barton but on one hand, has a little something in it for Rogers...I mean who doesn't? After all, he's saved her butt a few times in TWS and if it were the other way around, she would have saved his. Although, I think I'm leaning more towards Rogers due to his interaction with Natasha because, let's face it, they work so well together. I loved the dynamic between the two. Barton on the other hand, we haven't really seen too too much of his relationship with Natasha...just bits here and there. All we know is that when he was sent to kill her, he had a change of heart when he realized he couldn't bring himself to kill her...therefore it led to him falling for her.

As for Banner...not so sure. I like their interactions in the Avengers but its not enough to warrant Natasha to have feelings for him.

Out of curiosity, with rumors existing about the possibility of Black Widow and Bruce Banner being a "thing" in this film and how some have expressed their dislike at that idea, I'm just curious...out of three main male Avengers that we've seen Natasha interact with the most, along with being paired up with the most by fans of the MCU, who would you guys prefer for Black Widow to be romantically linked to in the MCU IF she had to have a romantic partnership with one of her Avengers' teammates between...

1. Hawkeye/Clint Barton

2. Steve Rogers/Captain America

3. Bruce Banner/The Hulk

And more importantly, why as well?
Hawkeye for similarity of character and common experiences. I'd prefer Cap start something with Sharon Carter and Banner eventually end up with Betty.

I won't lie and say that I'm actually not disappointed that they chose to potentially go for a Banner/Widow pairing as opposed to continuing off the relationship between Widow and Rogers.

I mean, maybe it's just me, but they seemed to be more than just partners/friends in TWS. Heck, even if Widow was a male character, they would have still received the same amount of slash fiction that Frodo and Sam received online.lol

If they wanted to pair Banner up with someone, they could have just gone with the Korean Actress, who for all intentional purposes, seemingly plays a character with a position similar to Betty Ross's one.

I'm all for Barton/Romanoff to be honest...it makes sense cause of their history.

Though it makes me wonder if we'll see the continuation partners/friends thing between Rogers/Romanoff in AOU.... Doesn't Romanoff have a bigger role in this one alongside Barton?

All we know for sure from set pics and collectibles is that Tasha shares face-time with Steve, and drives his bike. Now, I know some of you are still vehemently opposed to CapWidow 'shipping, but let's be honest here: *no* red-blooded American would let *any* woman drive his Harley unless he was getting a little somethin' on the side. Tru dat. :word:

Interesting...

On another note, have Chris and Scarlett been in any movies together before the Avengers?

Yep; they were in one called the "Nanny Diaries", where they were portrayed as love interests there.

And I know that they were in another film together before this one, way early into their careers.

I saw those gifs while I was searching for Black Widow/Cap gifs. lol. I thought it was funny to come across them.

Evans and Scarjo have also been very close friends IRL for years.

From set pics, and rumors and such, I think it appears that at some point in the film, Cap and Widow are in S.Korea, Hulk and IM are in S.Africa and Hawkeye the twins and possibly Thor are in Sokovia.

Their first movie together was The Perfect Score, at ages 17 and 20.

Playing around BTS.

Cap and Widow. Just love their chemistry in TWS. I love how vulnerable she becomes with him. It felt like Cap was the first to really crack the ice and get to her true feelings.

I'm pretty sure that's HER bike she is riding...she does transport his shield on it but its her bike. There was some article posted about the new bike she had in the movie and its designed in her color scheme of black and red.

I have said this before, but I honestly think the romantic relationship in Age of Ultron will be Black Widow and Hawkeye. I can't imagine her wearing that necklace just for a friend, even best friend. I think she will have some special moments with Bruce, but not romantic.

Still, she's literally Captain America's shield bearer/shield maiden in AOU. We don't see or hear of her carrying Hawkeye's quiver, or a stretchy pair of purple pants for Bruce. She's still shown to be intimately tied to Steve's story, so the safe money is still on them --- if there's any couplehood going on at all anywhere.

The arrow necklace is just fanwishery. The Russos never drew attention to it, even non-verbally, in CATWS. In fact, Widow never mentions Hawkeye at all in CATWS, and you'd think there'd be at least a nod towards that if she harbored any feelings for him. They have a past together, yes; but that past was clearly already past even before the events of The Avengers.

I think the shield is a call back to TWS, but Nat will be "dating" Hulk this time around. But I'd love to be wrong. I love Widow and Cap together.

I agree, their relationship is fantastic in TWS and they are the classic opposites attract couple, they both are better together than apart.

Is it possible we'll see Black Widow holding Cap's shield? That would be cool to see you know, her protecting Steve with the shield when something goes wrong...

We shall see. ;)

I didn't realize they were in movies with each other in the past before the Marvel films. No wonder they have such great chemistry.

It's disappointing to see all the people here who want Steve and Natasha together

My absolute favorite part about their relationship in TWS was that it was COMPLETELY PLATONIC
They were great friends, and one of the best partner duos we've gotten in any CBM to date

there was literally zero romantic tension between them, and I loved that
that's how you do feminism right: you make them equals... not bf and gf

I'd prefer she was no ones love interest. Flirt fine, that's part of her training.

I agree. I really liked that they had a sibling like relationship (with Natasha as the older, jaded sister and Steve as the younger, optimistic brother).

In terms of any love interest for Black Widow, well I'd prefer if there was none. But, I guess I would choose Clint because I think their shared experiences would provide a suitable bond for them to be together.

I personally don't understand the rationale for a Natasha and Bruce relationship. I guess they're both damaged goods, but Natasha doesn't really seem to share any of the same characteristics as Betty Ross and I'm not really sure that Natasha would appreciate Bruce's "Science Guy" persona. Still, both Natasha and Bruce are being played by respected actors, so IF (as rumoured) there is a love-story between them, I expect that they will be able to sell it on the big screen.

Been working on my story for the past two days since I started it but having a hard time where to take it... if anyone has any ideas, let me know. I'm open to any ideas that can help me. :)

I've got lots of platonic friends, and I've never tongue-kissed a single one of them; not even to distract enemy agents chasing us down. (How does that "everybody hates a PDA" theory work, anyway? IRL, it's the total opposite: you see a couple making out in the middle of a crowd, and EVERYBODY looks; even if they're disgusted.)

The car ride immediately after the kiss sets up PLENTY of romantic and sexual tension between Cap and Natasha. That's the whole purpose of that dialogue. Especially the last lines of that scene:

Steve: You know, it's kinda hard to trust someone when you don't know who that someone really is.
Natasha: (eyes grow cold; then soften) Yeah...Who do you want me to be?
Steve (hesitates): How 'bout a friend?
Natasha: (smirks; then the coldness returns): There's a chance you might be in the wrong business, Rogers. (wistful smile goes away; they exchange a look)

That's the kind of sexual and emotional tension you can cut with a knife.

I can also go on about how the majority of Black Widow's scenes in The Avengers features Cap as her personal knight in shining armor, and again, how she's paired up with Cap in Seoul in AOU while carrying his shield, but you'd probably go into denial about all that, too. :oldrazz:
