Age of Ultron The Black Widow Thread

If we don't see her feet all that often, it'd be nice if they were just an off-screen thing. I *get* the function of them when filming. I just don't like them being part of the character. It makes sense that if Nat's not in disguise (playing the helpless damsel) and is able to do things in her agent gear, she won't limit herself with high heels.

It's the fact that they're prominent in promo art that bugs me. The promo art could have easily given her proper looking combat boots, and that could easily be the canon.
I dunno, it's just, it'd be like if there was promo art of Tony outside of the armor, and they made a point to include RDJ's lifts as though it were a canon part of the character.

Hello, all! I had to jump out of lurking to weigh in on the superheroine wedge heel issue. I first noticed this on Moira MacTaggert in "X-men: First Class" and did a double-take when I saw them. Major pet peeve. The wedge is just...silly.

It's a real wedge issue

badump-tssss

Th only alternative to the wedge issue is to ban the hiring of short actresses or ban the hiring of tall actors. Until then we must all support the wedge!

Or just don't make it part of their costume like RDJ's heels aren't part of Stark's?

Stark's costume is the Iron Man suit that makes him about 6'6 and other times when in scene as Tony Stark he's sometimes wearing heels but not all the time and these are usually talking scenes where feet wouldn't be seen. But even barefoot he's still about half a foot taller than Scarlett. This is all about logistics.

She is short [as in an inch shorter than pre Serum Steve short]. That's just a fact. Not making the wedges officially part of her costume doesn't change the fact that shes wearing them when in costume and performing action scenes etc in them. They don't lessen her in any way or detract from her character. There's no valid reason to have to digitize them out of existence when filming or keep the camera away from them during action scenes. It would be an expensive PITA.

they just look absolutely ridiculous in full body shots, lol
I still feel like they do digitize them out, cuz I never noticed any sort of heel on her in any of her 3 film appearances

She's moving and she all in black including her shoes so there's really no reason to even notice them.

Natasha is given all these upgrades, yet in the final scene of the trailer where the team is being swarmed by hundreds of armored robots, she's shooting them with a pistol. How cute. Seriously? If she's just going to use her gun, she's pretty much useless.

I keep hoping that one day we'll get to see Tony give her bracelets a tech up grade that allows them to do what they do in the comics. But even without them she now has a suit that shocks and those batons so she's not useless.

As for her hair, I find the Joss Bob always looks better on film than in pictures as did her TWS hairdo. I'd like to see thee hair styled like it is in the comics but at this point it's what ever.

Well, it looks like she has these decides on her wrist though, so I don't know what she's doing with pistols.

She's jacking Bobbi's style by using batons. That's Mockingbird's signature weapons, and BW is stealing her thunder!

Natasha and Bobbi maybe cool with each other, and might allow for the use of each other's weapons.

Well...you are all wrong because this was her best hair...it just never made it to screen sadly

her hair in C2 was just way to flat.

Nah, her hair in TWS was better. Well, in my own opinion.

I love the Black Widow character, but it does bother me seeing her shooting the robots with pistols. They could have at least given her explosive bullets like Hawkeye :whatever:

Even the batons seem kind of stupid. Ultron's bots shouldn't be that easy to short circuit. Maybe Days of Future Past just spoiled me with how AWESOME the future sentinels looked fighting the X-Men.

I would personally love to see her arm chopped off by a robot, which could lead to her getting an arm cannon or something for future movies. How badass would that be? I know it won't happen but still, upgrade her weapons already.

I'm really hoping to see more weapons from Black Widow this time. :) I was actually looking for her cool weapons in the first movie because she got me all hyped up with her awesome arsenal in IM1.

Hopefully, we'll see more than just a gun when it comes out. :)

Strange enough Black Widow seems to smile the least in these things. Only bested by Hawkeye who I haven't seen crack a smile since that first trailer when they were trying to lift Thor's Hammer
