Wasn't it Mr. Craig who..interfered with the marriage? Naughty BOND.

I hope australian prog-rockers Karnivool gets the chance to do the theme!

I hope Muse gets to do it one day. Or Radiohead. :)

I still think Quantum of Solace was a missed opportunity for Ms. Amy Winehouse Say what what you will about her personal life, but she's so talented. What a waste.

Muse would be fantastic for Bond!

...
... altough i think first they need to do the score for a Doctor Who episode before anything else!

and yeah, the QoS-theme was ****... maybe dare I say even worse than Madonnas?

Funny thing is that the theme for the QoS game was very good and much more fitting for a Bondfilm, too bad that one didnt make it to the big screen instead :(

Muse's "Undisclosed Desires" from their latest album The Resistance would have been a perfect Bond song.

NO way was it worse than Madonna's. yucko

How 'bout Brokenclaw?

Never read it, but it's a cool title. :woot: Half the time they only use the title, anyway.

Oh, and I see that the Michael Sheen Blofeld rumour has surfaced again here in the U.K - that would be awesome.

Even though...EON doesn't own the rights to the character.

I do share Vile One's concern: What happens if they just dropped Quantum all together? That would suck.

Maybe this is a dumb question, as the whole Blofeld situation has always kinda confused me-

How was Goldeneye Wii able to use Blofeld? I thought any new usage was off limits? Did they get special permission?

Totally agree with this - Die Another Die was hands down the worst Bond theme ever committed to a movie.

And I tell you what, if anyone has a problem with Another Way To Die, they should go get the instrumetal version as that is awesome for all the reasons why we like Bond themes.

I still maintain that "Quantum of Solace" was a feeble title. It contains two words that a lot of people don't understand, and represents a concept that is difficult to associate with the usual expectations of a Bond film.

It could have easily been "A Touch Of Compassion"

I liked the QoS theme, but I felt it was a better pop song than Bond theme.

My favorite Bond song is A View to a Kill. Once again, as much as I love the song, I still wish that wasn't the best part of the movie. :csad:

What are some of your favorite Bond themes? I also love Live and Let Die, and Goldfinger.

I thought AWTD felt very over-priduced an unnecessarily complicated with its arragnement which ruined the overall impression.

I have never heard the intrumental version but will look it up asap :)

Oh gods, haha a simpler question would have been "which bond-themes DONT you like" :cwink: I mean, some (read: most) of them are just pure genius!

Goldfinger, You only live twice, Diamonds are forever, Live and let die (que solo by Slash :metal: ) For your eyes only, A view to a kill, the living daylights, and I have to confess I am quite fond of The World is not enough even top it is, like You Know my name, quite cheep in its ways to "be" a Bond-theme hehe

I have serious problems with choosing "the best" of them, these above, to me, share the number one spot!

To be honest QOS was a completely wasted opportunity. Ever since they failed to properly follow up OHMSS, we've been waiting for a true revenge Bond/Bond on rampage film (Dalton doesn't count). But the movie was trying so hard to be Jason Bourne, it was very distant. Despite having a great Bond, two potentially good Bond girls (played by good actresses, no less!) and a potentially great Bond villain its actor....it just is a lot of noise.

Really the only things that stand out about the movie is the opera scene, the brief role Malick had in it and the final scene where Bond confronts the man who used Vesper. Otherwise it was just a waste.

Oh and yeah, I like Jack White and alicia Keys, but that was the worst Bond theme in decades. CR had a great one and sans Madonna, all of Brosnan's Bond songs were quite good....but oy, the song for QOS--like almost everything else--missed the mark, in my opinion.

P.S. Top Bond themes:

1. Goldfinger
2. Nobody Does it Better (The Spy Who Loved Me)
3. Live and Let Die
4. You Know My Name (Casino Royale)
5. A View to a Kill (best part of that movie)

special mentions for:

6. From Russia With Love
7. The World is Not Enough
8. Tomorrow Never Dies
9. GoldenEye

My two cents.

The Matt Munro song or the instrumental?? In fact, I'd put both in the top tier Bond themes.

I love Quantum. I was a bit underwhelmed when I first saw it in the theater, but I watch it almost everytime it's on cable and it's really, really grown on me.

I love the opening sequence in all its insane frenetic glory. I love the fight with Greene (I love the reckless abandon with which Greene fights; almost reminds me of the Joker).

And the end is awesome. So good to see Craig in a proper gunbarrel. Now let's move it to the beginning of the movie!!!

My top 5 Bond themes:

1. You Only Live Twice
2. Goldfinger
3. You Know My Name
4. A View to a Kill
5. We Have All the Time in the World (even though it's the secondary theme for OHMSS)

To be honest I only watched it once in theaters and once in snippets on cable. But it just doesn't gel for me. For example, the best moments are the final scenes between Bond and Vesper's "boyfriend" and then between him and Q talking about Vesper. Ending on him throwing away her jewel in the snow is tragic and fitting to Bond giving up on his life and burying Vesper (but obviously not forgetting). By choosing to shoehorn the gun barrel was trying to make it a happier ending for Bond fans. But it did not fit at all. Bond getting revenge (kind of) at the end of CR and the Bond theme playing after he says his name worked. But it didn't work in QOS when they tried to force it. The gun barrel should have stayed at the beginning of the movie.
