It was a ghastly movie. Grace Jone's impossibly firm buttocks were the only highlight.

I mean, who really wanted to see a fifty year old James Bond making a shepherd's pie?

Goldfinger will always been the king of the Bond movies for me.

Dolph would have made an awesome henchmen. After Dolph kills Felix Leiter, James Bond trains in Siberia while "Hearts on Fire" plays. At the top of the mountain, James Bond yells

"DRAGOOOO!!!!"

I saw that on youtube as well.

I liked "Another Way To Die" but Winehouse offered a much more unique and interesting way to go. Plus it reminded me of the old school Bond songs.

MGM planning year-long 007 celebration in 2012

Release of Bond 23 to coincide with Dr No’s fiftieth anniversary

In their report on the official announcement of Bond 23, trade paper Variety notes that MGM aren’t going to let the James Bond series’ fiftieth anniversary slip by.

The studio have already begun preparing a year-long celebration to mark 50 years since the release of the very first 007 film, Dr No.

Specifics remain unknown, but fans should expect a celebration to top the series’ fortieth birthday held in the lead-up to the release of 2002′s Die Another Day.

Spy blog Double O Section speculates that the celebrations could include anything from theatrical re-releases of classic 007 films, books, toys and the release of the remaining Bond films on Blu-ray Disc.

Bond 23, to be directed by Sam Mendes from a script by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and John Logan, will be released on 9 November 2012. The film will feature Daniel Craig reprising the role of James Bond for the third time.

Sounds painful in most areas. I really couldn't care less about the Moore films. I've only seen LALD as a whole. I should check out The Spy Who Loved me though, since I heard it's one of the better ones. But Moore just sucks as Bond.

There are parts of TSWLM that I love, there are parts that have me cringing. But I definately would recommend that you watch it.

Moore doesn't suck as Bond. He played the part just as seriously as Connery did. They just made him do really silly stuff, and he did it. The Spy Who Loved Me changed my opinion of him. He really pulled off the serious moments there.

Why Dalton doesn't count? I thought his portrayal was mostly seen in good light by Bond fans.

There is an equal number who didn't like him (and the GA generally rejected him). I think Daniel Craig is the Bond that Dalton tried to play. But until Craig, some fans thought Dalton was great because he tried to be dark, gritty and super-cereal. It didn't matter that he failed. I much prefer Connery, Brosnan, Craig and even Moore.

I like Brosnan, but aside from Goldeneye I am very disappointed about rest of his Bond films. And ending his Bond series with Die Another Day is very much like a whimper instead of triumph. I'm just glad to see Craig having the success that he has with 007.

I tend to agree. I thought Brosnan was a terrific Bond that combined some of the darker more humanistic traits that Dalton brought to the role, but kept the witty charm of Connery (without getting too cheeky like Moore could do).

Unfortunately GE is the only great Bond movie he was in. I actually think despite some slow spots, TWINE is a pretty good Bond movie with some refreshing twists on the formula. But it is still middling. His other two...the less said the better.

But I will say who knows how Craig's tenure will go. Like Brosnan he was in a firecracker of a debut film directed by Martin Campbell (GE and CR), followed by a highly anticipated but underwhelmingly average action movie (TND and QOS)...let's hope the pattern does not continue, I must say.

My guess is that the GA wasn't ready for a dark and gritty Bond just coming after 12 years of Moore's tenure, even Craig might have failed in that climate IMO.

Let's hope Craig's third movie is equal to Goldfinger. The third movies are usually when Bond and the actor hit their stride.

How can you say that Dalton failed, even if you didn't like him?

He played the part like a professional who took the job seriously, and he pulled it off.
