The Bond 23 Thread

Surely the major factor in "License to Kill"s muted reception is the fact it was released at the same time as "Batman", against which it looked old hat.

OK we get it you dont like Dalton, but some of us around here do....

I was just responding to posts aimed at me. I don't get upset when people around here diss Brosnan even though I liked his Bond (though not necessarily his Bond movies).Just responding to questions and posts. :)

Yes, I think as an ally or villain would work nicely.

He could play the Kerim Bey/Valentine Zachovsky/Malick role quite well. I like it when Reno doesn't play a villain or complete d-bags. He can be quite sympathetic.

He's actually very likeable when he's a good guy. Even when he died in Mission Impossible I felt bad for him. He just got mixed up in the wrong crowd.

He had a sweet knife though.

He killed fellow IMF agents

He wanted a cut of the money

He willingly went with Phelps in the chopper

I would love to see.......

Jean Reno

as a Bond villain.

Why should ze french always be villains :oldrazz:

Reno's played a villain in a spy movie before in M:I and he's played a member of the French Secret Service in Godzilla.

So he's prepared, either way. :D

Fox Pursues James Bond
The X-Men studio reportedly wants to distribute Bond 23.

Now that Bond 23 has been officially announced with filming slated to begin this fall for a November 2012 release, all eyes are on which studio will come aboard to distribute the MGM-financed picture.

It was recently reported that Paramount and Sony were pursuing the sequel, and now comes word that 20th Century Fox has 007 in their sights as well.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, MGM management "listened to a pitch from top Fox executives [last Friday], who argue that their studio would do the best job exploiting Bond, as well as other future MGM films. They also believe they could wring the most out of the MGM library. Fox has had a longstanding deal to distribute MGM movies on DVD and its films overseas, though that pact is set to expire in September."

The trade says the matter of a distributor for Bond 23 will be settled in a few weeks.
Oh boy...

I doubt fox would end up with distrubiton rights for bond. Since sony has done it last few films I would think eon would like to keep them around. Or paramount which has also been talked about going for bond too. And if it isn't sony paramount is a good distrubtor plus has ties to mgm new owners.

I hope they decide to continue working with Sony for the distributing the films or if not Paramount. Reading from that pitch though, Fox is doing a great job of persuading MGM.

Fox has one of the best marketing departments in the business, as long as distributing is all they do I don't see a problem.

well i think sony/paramount is a little better with most of there films over fox at times. But ya if its just for distrubuting if it went with fox that is all i want them to have control over. Since they have been crap on production side of things for vast majority of films like book/comic adaptions.

I'm just glad this movie is finally getting back on track. I doubt Fox will have much creative control. As long as they just distribute I'm fine with that.

Agreed. This seems to be a negotiation for distribution, not production.

Eon wont let anyone stick their noses into the production of their "baby", people are worrying over nothing..............i hope.

Distribution yes, Production no. I could give two **** who distributes the film as long as it's good and retains all the essential Bond parts

Didn't Sony have a say in casting and rebooting the franchise sorta? I thought part of the direction of Casino Royale was their idea.

I just don't like the idea of Fox getting their hands on this and having their say in any way.

They are already do a poor job of X-men. It's already January and we've not seen anything really. No clips or trailers, nothing.

Ya at least its only for releasing film. But still I rather stick with sony or go with paramount over fox. If it isn't sony probably will be paramount due to mgm owners connection to them and all.

As long as they only do distribution and marketing, fine.

Their marketing is pretty damn great. Avatar's was brilliant.
