I do think there's more potential in making a solid 90-minute Cat in the Hat animated movie. There are at least two books for them to pull material from. It's basically what could have been done with the live action Mike Myers movie before a bunch of peanut-brained executives started chiming in with stupid ideas like, "Let's put Paris Hilton in the movie", "Let's have the Cat call a garden hoe a "dirty hoe"", "Let's have a Beatles cover by Smash Mouth on the soundtrack", etc.

I still haven't watched the mike myers version, i bought it on dvd as i was a fan of the books when i was a child, and thought it might be good to watch stoned, but everytime i put it on i put it off after a couple of minutes as knew i was just wasting a good high on such a terrible looking movie.
hopefully they will nail an animated movie.
