Making Batman 40+ was not a problem. it was actually a great approach, which opened a potential of already established rogues gallery and rich history, akin to that we see in comics all the time (and something we never got in live-action before). Only problem is inability of some people, executives or directors, to recognize this potential.

As for preferring Talia over Selina...

:funny:

What can I say? I gotta thing for Chinese-Arab Dark Action Girls.

She's also the Bats' baby moms. How many Bond Girls are both ninjas and mothers? Zero, that's how many!!

:o

depending on the type of history they want to establish Catwoman and Batman had together

I'd think her age relative to him is more important then her age relative to Harley Quinn

if Batman has been active for 20 years, how long into that career did he first meet her? how old was she when they first met? have they already had a romance? how long did that last?

these questions are very relevant when it come to how old to cast her

All of this is so accurate. And if those little hints from the aforementioned actress mean anything, they're sacrificing establishing any real history between the two.

Unfortunately I do not believe for one second that they made Bruce old because they had a story or direction with older Batman. It only happened because Snyder REALLY loved TDKR and that was all there to it.

It's increasingly apparent to me that the upcoming Batverse will be rather normal and wont have much history. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if he meets many of his classic villains for the first time. Heck he was shocked when he realized Diana was almost 100 years old which kinda for now hints that he hasn't met Ra's.

Good point.

I think Zack wanted to do that version and felt that it was different seeing a Batman over 40 who just doesn't stop. He's grizzled and fed up but keeps going.

But maybe just maybe, Bale was in Goyer and Snyder's mind originally too. And after some rough notes, they modified it to fit a new version of Batman. Ben or Christian, i think Snyder was going to show his Miller influence. But it only works if the history is there with older versions of Joker, Catwoman, Two-Face, Penguin, Riddler etc.

I know a bit reason is what you guys have mentioned. But there's also the fact that TDKR was only four years prior to BvS, so redoing Batman was going to feel tiresome for the public. It was the better to call to have an already established batman instead of telling the story all over again.

Haley Bennet could be trolling, BUT, if you look the pics after the "catwoman" one, the one where she has the new hair cut, she imitated the "pointy" breast of the animated Catwoman, and she hasn't that breast in real life...in the picture right after that, there's sushi, and she captioned the photo with "meow"...

just hope this doesn't develop into a Sean Young situation

that would be.....
sad!

Sean Young would have been a great Catwoman back in the day. She blew it.

I can't tell what was exact Snyder's thinking, but the point that this is a veteran Batman, with rich enough history in crime fighting to make him as bitter and cynical as he was in BvS, still stands, hence it provides potential for such stories.

I'm not convinced in this, as Bats already has quite a bit of a history with Joker, and to lesser extent Deadshot, Killer Croc, etc. I don't think there are many classic villains that he's yet about to meet. As for Ra's, I always thought that in shared DC universe, he'd work better as a Justice League villain than Batman one on film. He'd basically be a much more interesting version of Vandal Savage.

Considering how it went for Sean Young, I most genuinely hope it does.

Only difference being that I'd like it if Sean Young actually got the role.

Still in love with Sean Young in blade runner. so perfect.

she would've been good, I agree.

I'll be damned if she doesn't look even younger with that haircut.

well if this happens then some of us can stop asking for a Bruce Timm influenced Batman in the DCEU. Creepy old guy will have been checked off the list.

That haircut doesn't help things, imo. Like KW said, it makes her look even younger. No Bueno.

I mean, I always wanted Darwyn Cooke's brunette Selina with a pixie cut on film, it is the look I will always associate with the character. But in her case, it doesn't help making her appear any more mature, and she looks younger than her age as it is.
