There you have it folks. Most overpowered team EVER.![]()

Say, Thing......Two members are leaving the FF....Maybe Thing can be on these Champions...That would also fit in with the Slott theory.
Dread said:I personally would want the lineup to still be "simular" to the old one, otherwise why bother calling them THE CHAMPIONS and instead give them a new name? I hate it when franchises relaunch and the only thing that is the same is the name. Just ask people who read SHAZAM right now. Teams are a dime a dozen and you can always think of a new name. Relaunching a team in name only is a waste. Just give 'em a new name. Even a "non team" like the Defenders had a few "core" members (Dr. Strange, Namor, Hulk, Nighthawk, Valkyre).
As stated previously, in some ways it is fortunate that even if you took the remaining members that live, 1-2 slots on the team need to be filled. Plus, as Black Widow is pro SHRA and Iceman, Angel, and Hercules are likely "anti", that sort of nixes her on the team. Plus, she's due for MIGHTY AVENGERS anyway. So that leaves your old "core members" at Iceman, Angel, Hercules, and Ghost Rider. Teams typically have 7 members and considering they're all males, you'd probably want those next three slots to go to female characters.
Tigra is interesting but she's also pro SHRA (and as she's a cop, it makes sense for her to be).
Firestar just retired in FRONTLINE and I suppose an old 80's kid would enjoy seeing Iceman & Firestar on the same team, but I'd rather see her show up in the next incarnation of NEW WARRIORS, being a founder and all.
Invisible Woman is possible, if this "break up the Four for a while" kick lasts. Although that may make things awkward as Marvel seems to hate any romantic pairing that happened before Joe Q's watch but lack the balls to outright divorce anyone. Which, considering that out divorce rate is over 50%, is much more "realistic" than having a supervillian blow her up or whatever hackneyed idea they usually come up with (yes, the "MJ died in an explosion/whoops, not really" thing was only maybe 5 years ago). If you're going to be "edgy" enough to whine about a couple, Joe Q, then have some balls and do it proper, and act like you mean it. Otherwise, don't bother, really.
She-Hulk is also possible; she's one of those characters like Beast who've been on 3-4 teams.
As for tone, I wouldn't mind something a little "light" but I wouldn't want it to be an irrelivent MAD spoof-athon that means nothing like NEXTWAVE. I'd like to actually take the cast seriously and have them develop. Punchlines aren't development.
Darkstar's death (drawn by Igor Kordy, and slain by Fantomex after she was brainwashed, I believe during Morrison's run on X-Men but I could be mistaken) was a bit random and pointless but I'm not sure a revival would be the best option. If they wanted a "powerful Russkie female" there, they could finally have Starlight shake off her passive-aggressive devotion to loser villian Presence and try to make her heroic again. She could take Black Widow's place as an "ex Commie trying to go good", and she was a stable heroine before that Presence stuff (from the Gerber days on DEFENDERS in the 70's). The radiation powers and whatnot could make her "damaged goods" for PR...but couldn't you say the same for Ghost Rider? Or even Hercules (a demigod with a history of alcoholism is almost a PR nightmare in waiting; Stark at least quit, Herc revels in his)?CaptainStacy said:Agreed. Keep Hercules, Angel, Iceman, and Ghost Rider...bring (or re-vamp) Darkstar back....
Other possible members:
Cloak & Dagger, MoonKnight, or DarkHawk.

Darkhawk's part of Excelsior/The Loners and I'm content with him there.
Moon Knight's a possibility but usually on a team of 7 you want a good 2-3 slots to be females and with Angel, Iceman, Ghost Rider & Hercules available on the "old team", those slots are rather filled.
I would have recommended Julia Carpenter, but she'll be on Omega Flight, so that's out.
Anyway, with Johnny Blaze back from Hell, I think the Champions could be a good way for him to "readjust" to life again. He's going through some rough patches and an oddpall collection of allies and friends to at least talk to who aren't "afraid" of him and (sort of) accept him could be beneficial.
How about Valkyrie?
deemar325 said:Not at all. I'd really like Thing and Herc to be on a team together.
Me too. I bet BKV could do Defenders well, that is if he won't do a DR. STRANGE ongoing. It would be nice to get a good Defenders run again, as back in their day they did have some decent runs, at least before their roster and stories got a bit wacked out. A Dr. Suess world? Really!? I mean they have amung the most powerful rosters you can get on a team that isn't the Infinity Watch. And you had to give Dr. Strange credit for at least keeping most of them from levelling cities, or each other.CaptainStacy said:Valkyrie would work (although im holding out for Defenders revival one day, by a writer who WON'T treat it as a comedy)...
How about Thundra or Sabra?
