The Dark Knight The Christian Bale/Bruce Wayne thread

He did overreact... But he does have a point. IMO. And it's funny aswell.

"dat-dat-datadah" Hilarious.

I hope that outburst actually gets used in the future JL/World's Finest movie...
With Bats getting all angry at Superman...
I kid you not... this kind of stuff always happens in the comics...

Hey- to play serious rolls like Batman and John Conner, a guy needs to have a passionate/intense side to him. If he is in the middle of a very serious, stressful scene and some schloemoe (the director of photography at that) just wanders around the background... i would be pissed too. they ARE supposed to be professionals and that is very unprofessional. I could see myself doing the same thing Bale did- given the right circumstances.

A topic was made concerning that issue yesterday, and it was deleted. Personally, I'd take that link out of that post if I were you, since links to sites with profane language aren't allowed here as far as I know. As a matter of fact, I think the topic was removed due to that very issue.

Thanks. I was wondering what happened to that thread. I missed all the replies.

Removed the link from the original post. Didn't think I violated a rule by posting a link to the link, but fair is fair.

Looked for the link on his outburst and figured it was deleted. The audio is all the web now though, I actually heard it on the radio this morning.

Hard to know exactly what all the circumstances were, but he went a bit too far with that tirade...I mean I have had moments where I wanted to lay in to people, but man, he just keeps going and going...it's almost amusing. His passion for his craft is obvious, and then some... :woot:

If that dude Shane had said "Christian, Why so serious?" I would've LOL'D!

Yeah, it's on Yahoo's front page now.

Oh, just saw all the previous posts. Is the link not allowed due to language? Well, remove it if it's not.

Anyway, I stand by: what a complete cock. I mean seriously, this guy sounds like a completely spoiled little brat .

Dammit, I'm gonna be mad if this little outburst kicks Bale off of Batman 3.

(Probably wouldn't happen, but it would be a shame if we didn't get the same actor playing Batman for three movies in a row :( .)

On the contrary... this proves Bale is the ONLY person of truly portraying Batman
I hope he has a cuss fight with Bane....

LOL no way that's happening. I think this will increase Bale's profile. Hollywood's a very bizarre place. Bale has been low profile up until last year's domestic incident. This will only boost his notoriety. And if this is the worst Bale can ever do, which I think it is since he's not the Downey Jr. coke and hooker type, he's gonna be fine.

Bale did the right thing, that guy is an amateur...

Seriously, if your boss did that to you in front of all your boys at work, you'd be glad he did it?

From what I understand, Bale and Nolan are quite close, so if he gets kicked off, it won't be Nolan's decision. And if Bale goes, I doubt Nolan will want to do another Batman, so WB would do well to just overlook this.

How close? Close as in they're boys, or close as in its a full blown bro-mance?

So technically Bale is literally the post powerful actor is Hollywood right now?
Absolutely nothing can touch him?

Why does this seem like a comic book story all of a sudden...

He overreacted. He went berserk for about 5 minutes! There is no excuse. I dont think that he would have acted like this to Michael Caine, no matter what he did.

^ That may be respect for your elders thing... then again the DP could have been his father's age...

It seems partially justified. Being angry is okay but going medieval like that?

The actual response was ok. It seems the guy had done it before and it wasn't something you're supposed to do while actors are filming. But the reaction was out of line. He just kept going on and on and wouldn't let it go. There's no excuse for that. I don't care how method-acty he is. Dude needs some serious balance in his life.

Well, Nolan hasn't done that many movies, but Bale's starred in three of them, so that should tell you somethin'. :oldrazz:

I don't think Michael Caine would have ever given him a reason to act like that. Still, none of us were there that day, so it's hard to say if Bale was justified in being angry with him. No matter what the case, I think people here are overreacting to Bale's... overreacting. :oldrazz: What he did was inappropriate, yes, but was it unusual? No. People lose their temper all the time. It happens. Everyone here has done or said something embarrassing while angry that they wish they could take back. Bale was just unlucky enough to do it while a tape was rolling.

But Bale acting out the way he did is professional?

I don't care who you are, but you don't yell at people like that, and if you do, prepare for a swift kick to the nuts!

Hmmmmmmmmm... I heard that recording few minutes ago... what I can say, he was really angry... for vocabulary, hm, that guy (director of photography) did something very bad if Chris made very mad...
Walking into an actor's sightline while they're shooting is a HUGE no-no, even for a lowly gaffer. This guy was the director of photography, (the guy IN CHARGE of the cameras and lighting, like Wally Pfister on TDK) and really should have known better.

That said, this entire situation could have been handled better from everyone - McG should have had control of his set, the DP shouldn't have been walking around, Bale should have conveyed in his feelings in a more professional manner, etc etc.

Naomi Campbell is lucky that her tantrums (and incidents of assault) aren't recorded. Bale had a tantrum and didn't hit anyone, it's really NOT that unusual on a movie set. At least I'm not all that surprised. :funny:

This was from June, so it's shortly before the Dark Knight premiere & alleged incident with his mom & sister. Not to excuse the guy (a tantrum is a tantrum), but he was probably stressed the frak out. I saw him at a talk with Nolan the week of the premiere and he looked really tired.

My guess is that stuff probably happens plenty on sets, just to a lesser degree.
(What an awesome business!)

And the remix is pretty great.
