The Dark Knight The Christian Bale/Bruce Wayne thread

First he beats his mother and sister and now he treats this guy like if he was an animal. I like Bale as an actor but as a human being not so much. He clearly has issues.

he didn't beat his mother and sister. he was accused of verbal assault

Haven´t you heard/read anything ?? Bale apologized to the DP that VERY SAME DAY and they´ve been working together ever since till recently....

Jeezzz people....:whatever:

Polux

"You and me are reconciled... professionally"

:joker:

Sounds like the man owned up to his mistake. Doesnt excuse his actions, but it shows he isnt what the media is projecting him to be.

With all the remixes and seemingly sincere apology, Bale could come out pretty well from all this after all. As long as he's conveys he knows he acted like a dick, which it appears he has, he can come away from this appearing both humble and yet serious about his work.

Well, good to see he's apologized. I'd say this response is about exactly what I'd expected. He lost his temper a bit, and afterwards realized he'd made a mistake. There was no reason to do what he did, but he's human and humans make mistakes.

What's funny is all the people in this thread who excused his behavior, not as a mistake, but as something that he was right to do. The people who are like "so what, the guy deserved it". I guess a lot of the people in this thread are bigger *******s than Bale.

no need to attack people because of their opinions

my hats off to bale
kudos to him for setting things right..... then apologizing

Whatever people's opinions, by default the pressure on T4 being a success has increased. As a fan of course I hope it is amazing. But Bale's allure from studios and directors *could* be harmed if it bombs. Bale will be ok though and continue. I only mean his appeal could be diminished. I hope that never happens. And I agree with hatebox ref the perspective that Bale can come out ahead from this. Now ppl understand this is a serious guy, an intense guy, who demands perfection from himself and those around him. Dedication usually ends up in quality work. Glad he apologized. Good man.

If you think you've pissed me off you couldn't be more wrong. I've been laughing my ass off at you. You were the one who drove into a thread telling others they should all behave as you think they should. I find that behavior amusing, just like all the people saying they won't go see the next Batman movie because Bale is an ass. And if you think this has hurt Bale, well, let's just say I'm sure he'll be the one laughing all the way to the bank. :hehe:

And by the way, I wasn't the only one who replied to your comment to the contrary. :cwink: (but keep telling yourself that it only takes one person to argue, I'll just laugh harder in response.) :oldrazz:

There are dummys on US Magazine saying they hope Terminator 3 flops :whatever: :funny:

I think a lot of people were saying, and what I tried to get across with my comments on the subject, was that while his behavior during his tirade may not be excusable, people should, as humans, admit they have had moments where we have acted pretty much in a similarly inexcusable way, and that maybe someone shouldn't be judged based on 3-4 minutes of their life, most especially when those moments occurred when none of us were present and were taken out of context.

Many people came forth (in the industry) that said the DP had made a mistake, and we all know Bale made a mistake, and well, we all have made mistakes before. Bale apologized, they moved on and continued to work together. Pretty much the end of the story in my book.

It's the people now ranting on that his apology was insincere and he is an actor and everything he said was a lie are the ones that are making me sick. It's like some people won't be happy until they have his head on a platter, and really, they need to take a long, deep look inside themselves before passing off judgements like that.

Terminator 3?? Well there ya go. Consider the source. :p

That's obviously reasonable. What got me was the people who were like "Yeah, this rant makes me like Bale more. Go Bale!"

maybe people did mean this. and i can't speak for everyone, but i don't think that was what the "bale-supporters" were really talking about

Most of the people here are acting like Bale is the best man in the world for accepting he made a mistake. Of course he had to apologize, his manager and the studio probably told him to do that. Its bad promotion for the Terminator movie. I wonder if you guys would defend a George Clooney or Val Kilmer the same way. :whatever:

A bit??? Bale insulted the guy 4 minutes, like if he was an animal. In front of all the staff that was shooting the film. That was just mean.

no need to stir up trouble, mate. If Bale apologizes, he means it. He's not one to even appear on most talk shows to promote his films. In that aspect( and amongst many others), he is very much like Heath ( just hated that side of the industry). he goes out on a limb when he needs to, and doesn't waste his words. and i think he's sincere in his apology.

Okay, just for the sake of argument, what do you think should happen to the man if an apology to the DP, the entire crew, and now the entire world is not enough for you?

(and do some research on the long list of celebs who have acted this way and worse, actually being jailed, and doing time and such for actual, physical assault.)

So that excuses Bale???? That other celebs have done the same???? He and those other celebs should get professional help. So now if someone steals a house or murders someone it's ok because a lot of people do it????

I hope he really meant that he is sorry. But what surprises me, is that you people still have respect for a guy who insults and humiliates people the way Bale did.

You didn't answer my question.

Since you want to stir it up with a stick, tell me what you, in your sense of justice, feel that a grown man who swore and screamed at another grown man for less than four minutes deserves as punishment AFTER he publicly apologized and took ownership of what he did and was forgiven SIX MONTHS AGO by the person who the comments were aimed at.

The important thing to me is that all seemed to be forgiven on the set the same day, and in my opinion if Shane can forgive on the same day, then no one has the right to still be up in arms about this. Nobody. He has now even apologized to us now, so you know what, move on, really. This is not about excuses and what not, the bigger people move on, the bigger people forgive, so move on.

very well said!

yawn

so we should simply condemn him forever then?

I find it incredibly ignorant that people are up in arms over the work conditions of an industry which exists in its own little bubble and has absolutely NOTHING to do with the general public, aside from the few hours of entertainment when the project is done.

While say, we consider it completely normal for doctors, nurses, and medical residents to have 30-hour shifts. :whatever:

If you can't take being chewed out on a regular basis, don't work in Hollywood. It's not a big deal. If only everyone could escape the mess that is our medical system that easily, but we can't. I mean, I didn't go to medical school, but I'm going to have to see a doctor SOMEtime.
