he may have been mean, but then the DP was also an idiot for doing something out of protocol. also if you bother to listen to the tirade carefully it wasnt 4 minutes of ranting non-stop, it was about 2 or 3 outbursts over the course of 4 minutes. his 1st outburst lasted only about a minute. then someone said something to set him off. and just as he was settling down, something set him off AGAIN.A bit??? Bale insulted the guy 4 minutes, like if he was an animal. In front of all the staff that was shooting the film. That was just mean.
i would have the same respect for anybody who would own up to a mistake, regardless if they are celebrities or not. Most of the people here are acting like Bale is the best man in the world for accepting he made a mistake. Of course he had to apologize, his manager and the studio probably told him to do that. Its bad promotion for the Terminator movie. I wonder if you guys would defend a George Clooney or Val Kilmer the same way.![]()
and let me tell you this about Christian Bale-- that is one man that will not be pressured to do anything he doesnt want to do careerwise. he means what he says and does what he says. believe me when i say he's no studio puppet. if it was the studio or whomever pressuring him to apologize as a PR act all he could've done was have his agent send a letter to the press. but no. he took the time to call in and go on record and apologized and gave a complete perspective of what went down. truth to be told he didnt even have to apologize, all he couldve done was downplay the whole thing by saying it was 6 months ago and that the spat between him the DP has been resolved long before. but he didnt downplay. he didnt even blame the DP (even when obviously the DP wasnt exactly guiltless in all this). he even praised and defended the DP's work on Terminator. what kind of self-centered pr*ck would do that?
