Let's not forget that Bale is trained in martial arts. When someone is under an enormous amount of stress (such as the premiere of a blockbuster film) and capable of causing extreme pain, it's very easy to snap in a violent manner.

Well, got this from IMDB who got it from Just Jared:

His mom and sister are alcoholics and drug addicts, they showed up at his hotel uninvited and highly intoxicated. they were calling him big shot and that he needs to take care of his own. His mom was yelling that he would be nothing without her and he owed her. His sister was begging for money and when he was pushing her toward the door his mother came from behind and started hitting him on his head and kicking him. He managed to push them both out the door and his mom fell, they called the police and wanted him arrested. I believe that Chirstian is the victim here not his mom or sister

My father works security at the hotel, and he said it was a mess. His mom and sister wanted the front desk worker to let them into his room to wait for him. When they were told no they started cussing and yelling. they sat in front of his door for an hour until he finally arrived.

Not that I'm inclined to believe Just Jared, but this makes more sense than Bale just making a scene without provocation.

If you note his interviews (not that we believe them anyway ), he never talks about his mother, only his father.

If this is true, now I understand why he never mentions his family. With that kind of relatives, I'd also pretend they don't exist.

I always thought Christain Bale just had a daughter.He never mentioned his mother or any other siblings.Might have heard mention his dad.But...hey...Angelina Jolie hasn't spoken to her dad,John Voight in how many years?Not a big deal,those things happen.

If it turns out to be simply "verbal assault" and nothing else, then no big deal. We Americans have a hard time understanding the Orwellian restrictions and punishments inflicted on citizens in places like the UK and Canada (where "hate speech" can get you tossed into jail and/or fined). Whether the tongue-lashing his mum and sis got was justified or not remains to be seen, but arrested for "verbal assault", gimme a break!

Im more inclined to believe that IMDB report, but I'll further await more confirmation. Looking back, I do find it funny that people were in blatant denial of Bale doing anything wrong. C'mon people. Just because he's playing an altruistic character in the movies, doesn't mean he's a complete nice guy in real life. He's obviously a tightly-wounded up guy.

In the end, I think this'll all settle itself. He probably did verbally assault his mom and sis, but most likely in defense. No biggie.
