Ok so when i heard about this i spazed out, as The Chronicles of Riddick : Escape from Butcher Bay was one of the best, if not THE best game i played on the Xbox. It was almost perfect.

Now unfortunately this game isn't a whole new chapter, its actually a remake of "Escape from Butcher Bay" with, of course, new visuals and gameplay elements. Gamespot says that there is 40% more single player content and that it'll have some type of multiplayer. I dont know about any of you, but ill deff be keeping an eye out for this.

Sweet! Now games are doing the remake thing! Awesome. The sooner originality, & creativity die. The better off we shall all be. God this makes me so happy!

overreact much?

i personally think this is a great idea... there are more than a few games that could use this same idea, games that came out too early, or were buggy, rushed, etc, and could use a fresh coat of paint to make them better games. matrix: path of neo comes to mind... great game with a few glitches that needed to be worked out before shipping.

I see what Carnage is saying, but it doesn't apply here. Games like The Chronicles of Riddick and Resident Evil were such good games that they deserve a remake on a much more powerful system. I rather have a new chapter in the Riddick series, but Escape from Butcher Bay is one of my all time favs so im not complaining, at all. Plus, there is gonna be alot of new content, and multiplayer.

Here is a crazy idea. How about just make a sequel to the game. Add all the stuff that you would add to the remake into the sequel, but that is crazy talk. I mean god forbid we ask the game creators to develope something new.

All games that were great were great for there time. Let them stay that way. Move forward, & stop looking behind.

Well, with this, itd be hard to make a true "new" sequel. After Butcher Bay there was Pitch Black and then The Chronicles of Riddick. I mean i guess you could make a game based on events in between Pitch Black and the Chronicles of Riddick.

It doesn't matter tho, the devs are going with this and its gonna be fantastic. It was a great game then and it'll be a fantastic game now.

As you know, when the poo-headed Activision dumped several games when they merged with Blizzard, two of gems got rescued by Atari: Ghost Busters, and Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. The latter is a sequel to the hit Xbox / PC first person action game "Escape from Butcher Bay," however in addition to a brand new scenario, you'll also be treated to a full next-gen remake of the original Chronicles of Riddick game. Both the Butcher Bay and Dark Athena scenarios will be available to the player upon starting the game, so if you've already had your fill of Butcher Bay then you don't have to play it again. But if you're one of the many who hasn't yet gotten to experience it, or you just want to see how awesome it looks in HD, it'll be right there, waiting for you.

The plot picks up shortly after Escape from Butcher Bay, and takes place before the movies. After escaping from the infamous triple-max prison for space-faring convicts, the titular "most wanted man alive," Richard B. Riddick, finds himself on a starship called the Dark Athena, and I don't really know much beyond that except that the game's antagonist is the ship's tough-as-nails female captain, and that there is some history between her and Riddick prior to his imprisonment. Like the PC version of EFBB, there will also be a multiplayer mode in there somewhere. And of course, Vin Diesel will once again be lending his mug and iconic gravely voice to the title character.

Oh yeah, and one last thing: ZOMG, Saber Claws! :applaud

The Chronicles of Riddick was one of, if not the best game on the Xbox and im stoked to see they are bringing it to the 360. I cant wait. I dont care if its the exact same game with nothing added, im dropping 60 on this.

This has the original game & the sequel ? :shock

Escape from Butcher Bay is the only thing I like about the Riddick series.

Thats because he actually acts like Richard B Riddick in that title. Pitch Black wasnt horrible, but after playing Escape, i deff wanted to see a much more hard ass Riddick.

I want this game. Now. Projectpat, make it so.
