Aloha,
Your bro is a true collector. There is a variant version of this HC for about $30
This book collects some of Millers work on Spidey. For the price they're asking you would think that there would be more stories. It's good but only true fanatics would buy the $99 version instead of the $30.I got mine for $45 on ebay
Spidey rules

BTW-here is a list of all of Millers Spidey work
Spectacular Spider-man #27, 28,46, 48,50-52,54-57, & 60
•Amazing Spider-man #203, 218 & 219,
•Amazing Spider-man Annual #14 & 15,
•Marvel Team Up # 95, 99, 100 Co-plot, 102 & 106
•Marvel Team Up Annual #4

I had no idea Frank Miller ever even wrote Spider-Man.

I cringe whenever I think of what it would be like to read a Frank Miller penned Spidey. Especially after All-Star Batman & Robin!

Hey All Star Batman is an awesome book. Its supposed to be crazy cuz its set in the DKR universe.

It is awesome...except fo the part where it is totally NOT awesome.

Batman slapping kids who were just orphaned and telling them he's the GD Batman isn't isn't good for a Batman parody. Also, the part where the Batmobile flew into the air, frying a few police officers to a crisp, that was just about as bad.

Didn't it take for issue for them to finally make it to the Batcave? Sorry, as far as the All Star line goes, All Star Superman is the only one that matters.

Still, to each his own.:yay:

The Complete Frank Miller Spider-Man is mostly his art. There are some things that he did write, such as Marvel Team-Up Annual #4, but even the things he did not write are worth reading; excellent, excellent stories.

Like you said to each his own. The very reasons you hate it are the same reasons why I love it lol. Would have you received it better if it was titled something to the effect of The Dark Knight Begins, since its takes place years before DKR? Or are you not a fan of DKR either lol?

Actually Miller has said that it doesn't take place in the DKR universe. It's a combination of them both throwing things in (quite a few of the visual ones if not all, were Jim Lee's) and Miller writing the characters similarly. DKR and All-Star are both parodies of comics in their respective decades mainly, I think. The only book within the same universe as DKR is DKSB. Plus it makes no sense for DKR to be in the same universe as All-Star, but this is a whole different topic completely.

I've read some of the Spider-Man Miller stories and the ones I read were pretty interesting. My favorite was a story in which Spider-Man is temporarily blind and daredevil helps him around. I'd advocate picking up the book but certainly not for that high price.

Riiigght......except it does indeed take place in the same DKR universe.
In his recent interviews, Miller has been quite clear that the All-Star Batman and Robin stories are part of what he calls his "Dark Knight universe."

Frank Miller has also stated that All Star Batman & Robin does exist in the same continuity as the other storylines in his "Dark Knight Universe". This consists of Miller's Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, its sequel Batman: The Dark Knight Strikes Again, Batman: Year One, the upcoming Holy Terror, Batman!, and the Frank Miller / Todd McFarlane collaboration on Spawn/Batman. Of these, only Year One is considered canonical to the mainstream DC Universe.[5] In 2007, Frank Miller's "Dark Knight Universe" was officially designated as Earth-31 within the new DC Comics Multiverse comprised of 52 alternate universes.[6]

Well, DKR was awesome, and relevant. It reflected the times in which it tok place, much like Watchmen. The characters were all very well-rounded, and we got an introspective look at the conflicts Bruce has faced....

All-Star Batman, 3 issue into it, featured Robin's parents getting killed, Vicky Vale repeating that she had a date with Bruce Wayne a hundred or so times, Batman killing cops and abusing an orphan, and pretty much has no real meaning below the surface value of pretty visuals (Jim Lee DOES rock) and over-the-top violence, I haven't seen anything that made me think, "Wow, I have to buy this! This is Batman!"

Also, if it's in the DKR universe, then you should know that Batman fires Robin for incompetence and then Robin becomes a genetic freak and the second Joker who has the ability to regenerate.

Personally, I think the fact that Miller hasn't produced a good Batman story in the DKR universe sicne DKR is a good sign that he should leave it alone.

For me ASBatman is The Batman. I'm pretty sure it explains why he killed the (crooked)cops and why he hit robin. I mean wasn't the cops gonna kill Robin?

this has all of a sudden become a FM thread...

so is the complete frank miller spiderman just him doing ART or writing too ????

Well alright cool, I apologize. I thought I had read an article somewhere in which Miller said it was not, but I guess I misremembered. Although I just can't see the characterization of Bruce changing from year one to this...And then there's the whole time period mix up....oh well.

No worries. Also All Star is supposed to take place in Year 3, so something big must have happened between Y1 and Y3 to make him snap.
