The Congressman Paul Ryan Thread

Have you guys heard of Ryan's fake photo op at a soup kitchen? Apparently he showed up for 15 minutes, and cleaned dishes they'd left for them once all the patrons had gone, without permission from the people who run the place. Nice work. :hehe:

Wasn't he also informed he couldn't do the photo op and still did it? :hehe:

Ya, apparently no politicians are allowed to use that place for photo-ops, and they did it anyways.... Impressive stuff, it's hard to make volunteer work against you.

You mean the one where the president of the overall association banned photo ops, but the woman at that site agreed to let Ryan in for the photo? Funny how little pieces of the story are conveniently left out by some folks.

If the president of that food kitchen association really has an issue with this, he should remove the woman at the site who allowed Ryan in. This isn't a Ryan issue, it's a personnel issue.

I think it's a case it shows how incredibly fake photo ops are, Ryan just got caught

Much like Romney getting caught trying to make up a few of his "stories on the road of people he met"

I don't see how that little tidbit of information changes the story.

My understanding is that ANY political association could cause the kitchen to lose valuable private donations, which are conditional on not getting involved with any election.

You can point a finger at the woman who allowed Ryan in, but really, was she going to be able to stop him? A VP nominee with Secret Service, handlers, assistants, and media surrounding him?

Ryan bullied his way into a photo op. And for the record, I would say the same thing about ANY political candidate in this situation.

I consider Paul Ryan the typical fraud. The guy approved a ton of spending during the Bush administration but as soon as the GOP lost power he and the rest of the hypocrites suddenly got "conservative" all of a sudden. GTFOH.

Plus, even if you could blame the women more than Ryan, does that even matter? That's not even the point. He barged into a soup kitchen, where they are strictly A-political, and could lose donors for doing so. Took a few photos, pretending to do work, then left.

It would have been an entirely different deal if he went in there, did actual work (not just washing dishes, or pretending to), and did so because he cared about that organization, and was trying to raise awareness. Imagine if Obama did the exact same thing.

Ryan Says Obama Policies Threaten ‘Judeo-Christian’ Values

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. — Representative Paul D. Ryan accused President Obama on Sunday of taking the country down a path that compromised Judeo-Christian values and the traditions of Western civilization.

The remarks came in a conference call with evangelical Christians, sandwiched between public rallies in which he often spoke of the Romney-Ryan ticket’s promise to bridge partisan divides if elected.

How can you bridge partisan divides if you don't respect their religious beliefs?
