"So much about this world that I won't miss. These people and their illusions...." Ultima says as he approaches Icon, who again falls to his knees.
Ultima kneels down with him an begins carressing the side of Icons head.
"Didja know, that I was in love once. And boy she was she beautiful. She was my one and only. We were gonna get married and I was going to have the happy life my mother and father never had, complete with a white picket fence and a miniature poodle. Then she hurt me. Baaad. Got with my best friend while I was in the Army. Boy, I felt so hurt...I felt soooo....human. But then I left this world, changed, and had a different perspective on love and life in general. Love is just a chemical inbalance, something that happens to a human brain, it's self medication, you see. And it goes far beyond love. Every feeling, every emotion, is routed in a human beings own selfishness. I mean, say for example, I kill that beatiful little Jenny of your that you kept eyeballing on that bus a few nights ago..."

"You bastard..."

Ultima stands up, and steps back.

"You see, If I kill her, and she is dead and gone, you would hurt. But not because you care about her well being, but because you would miss her. The slow, intense pain she would feel wouldn't be what kept you up at night, it would simply be the fact she is gone, That would never see her face or hear her voice, EVER again. That's pretty selfish, Icon..."

"You...you know nothing about the human race, or the strength that lies in our compassion..."

"Still clinging on to your ideals, I see. You remind me of myself when I was human. Optimistic and stupid..."

"And you remind me of ever other super villain I ever come across. The maniacal twist with too much power who monolouges when he should be aware of his surroundings. You are a walking cliche..." Icon says as The Survivor spears Ultima out of nowhere.

"It's about damn time..."
As Ultima staggers to the side from the Survivor's blow, Adam skillfully flipped over his shoulder and delivered the hardest right cross he had ever thrown, cracking loudly against the villain's face. Ignoring the feeling of his knuckles being blown apart from the force of his own punch, and piecing themselves back together again a second later, the Survivor crouched low and swung his leg around, sweeping the legs out from under the surprised Ultima. The Survivor knew that if this monster could go hit for hit with Icon, then he was beyond Adam's own level of sheer strength, which meant that his skills and the element of surprise would have to be the strengths to play to in this fight.

"You sick little ****," growled Adam as a blast of energy was about to be set loose from his eyes, but a great force knocked the Survivor back at the last moment. Telekinesis. Right, he thought.

"C'mon, big guy! Let's see how you do against someone who's trained to fight, and can take everything you've got and still keep coming!" Watching Ultima take his time getting up, a smug smile on his face, Adam saw a small trickle of inhuman blood going down from his mouth. At least I drew first blood. That's a good sign, right? Icon, man, now would be a great time to get your second wind.

Goddess turns to look at Kensei, a face showing signs of hurt, "I did not aim for him, besides..." Goddess looked around, teeming masses of aliens still out and about, "It really looks like you COULD use help, even just a little bit," making the tiny gesture with her right thumb and index finger.

A large alien attack from her right is met with the same defense she used before, only this time, she pointed her good ol' fashioned pointing stance while not looking, "Duchet," resulting in a large, single body explosion, supplemented by the screaming and cracking, screeching sounds of breaking metal.

"So let's play nice," her tone a slight bit darker, ending with a little hiss. As much as she was trying to hide it, she was slightly enjoying getting to dole out some destruction, given her frustrations since waking up.

Before Kensei could reply, a siren began to blare on the massive machine indicating the countdown process was getting close to ending.

"This isn't over", Kensei said through gritted teeth as he ran up the pathway towards the machine's controls.
The Swordsman had faced down countless monsters and demons, creatures that would make even the bravest of men go insane with fear. But Kensei stood and looked helplessly at the controls of the alien device.

He had problems enough with technology, but alien tech? That was another level of frustration all together.

"Dammit", he cursed as he stared helplessly at the control panel.
"I wish you were here right now, Hideyoshi."

Kensei fumbled about trying to figure out what to do, hoping that somebody with more technical knowledge would arrive to help.

Light blurs and becomes a gray blob as I go faster and faster.

I'm pretty sure that the whirlwind I've kicked up as smashed all the soldiers to hell and back, but I keep on going. I can't stop.

archangelbanner1.jpg

There's a sudden force of nature within the city, with such great speed. The massive whirlwind that appears out of seemingly no where catches my attention finally. Odd, I don't recall creating that--

That's when I see a streak of blue and gray. Gotta be none other than the Blue Blur. Man, this guy's really giving it his all isn't he? With his heroic attack, he presses on wiping out several battalions of alien invaders.

Ah crap. I don't think he planned that though.

God help me, I can't stop.

Going faster and faster, until I feel my hamstrings go tight, and something in my legs makes a sickening crack.

"Ahh!!!" I scream out as my body hits the ground and skids for about three miles. My nerve endings scream bloody murder as I start to come back to reality from whatever I just went through.

I'm far away from the battle, but even as I look up into the sky while I fade into unconsciousness, I know that I've done my job.

I've helped saved the world.

Next comes the darkness.

That can't be good. I kick it into high gear, making these angel-fire wings really go to work and chase after the streak of blue and gray that seems to sporadically bounce about the city. The dude is really something, but I know something for sure: he's human just like me. He can only take so much.

"Oh, no."

I finally spot him, practically buried in rubble he created just trying to slow down. There's a streak of blood from his hamstrings down to his ankles, explaining the trail of blood that starts just before I finally descend down to him. I check his pulse, and he luckily has one left, but man is it slow. He's slipped into an unconscious state, and it's not looking too promising right about now.

I take a deep breath, rub my hands together, and close my eyes. One prayer of healing coming up.

"I sure hope it's not God's will you die this day, man. You're a real hero. Not what I'm still trying to figure out. An actual, full blown hero. You can't die. Not now, man. Not like this. Not like this."

Exhaling softly, I place my hands upon him right over his heart. And I pray. Boy do I pray.

Then...

The first time you go invisible...it's so strange. The feeling of being warm and cold at the same time. Once it happened, Kevin was finally allowed to explain everything to me. The gland secrets something they call quicksilver, which bends light around whatever it covers. My skin releases it and it coats my body and clothes, and I become invisible. And because it bends light around me, there's nothing to warm my skin, hence the cold. But quicksilver also insulates me, hence the feeling of warmth.

And once you do it a few times...it's actually pretty cool. Weird, but cool. And the idea of an invisible thief?...

For the next few weeks there are tests and examinations. I'm poked and prodded and drained of various fluids. All to make sure that I'm, and more importantly the gland's, not falling apart.

For hours I stand outside in the sunshine and fresh air, practicing my invisibility. It's the only time I get to be outside, so I play ball and try not to tick anyone off, especially the Director. So, even though I feel ridiculous doing it, I stand out there and meditate, focus on my breathing, and relax to make the gland work when I want, and how I want. Responding to adrenaline is all well and good, but an invisible man who can't control his invisibility isn't worth much. So I spend countless hours turning parts of my body invisible, turning various objects invisible, and seeing how long I can stay that way.

Sometimes it feels like I traded one type of prison for another...

Now...

I think I've been in this place for a few months. I'm only guessing as I really don't have a sense of time, and have lost track of the days. And I'm getting pretty tired of it. Now, if this was a regular prison, I wouldn't have much choice but to put up with it. Luckily, this is a government installation. Which means lots of unnecessary high-tech locks that a certain master thief can pick. It also doesn't hurt that no one will be able to see me doing it.

And so I wait for night, when the lights go out and they expect me to sleep. I wait a few minutes to make sure, and then quietly get up. There's only enough ambient light for me to see to use the bathroom at night. Not nearly enough to pick the door lock by. Luckily, I don't need normal light. You see, when I go invisible, light bends around me, yet I'm not blind. Doesn't make much sense, does it? Kevin told me that while quicksilver bends visible light and even infrared, it doesn't effect the ultraviolet. And the quicksilver shifts my visible spectrum so I see in the ultraviolet. So, instead of being blind, everything becomes a sort of glowy black and white.

Once I think the time is right, I get up to use the bathroom, flush, and while the water is down, reach down the hole and grab the surgical probes I hid there. Gross, I know. But it's the only part of the room they don't search.

With probes in hand, and after a quick hand-washing, I concentrate and make my eyes invisible. Suddenly, the world is bathed in a white glow with plenty of UV light to see with. I kneel down at the door lock and start prying it open. I shake my head. A MaxSekure AZ4700. Only a government operation would waste their money on these. They're marketed as being more secure than the AZ4300's, which I know is absolute bull. Somehow having one more digit in the security code warrants double the price. But leave it to the government to pay more for essentially the same thing.

And since I can pick an AZ4300 in about eight seconds...I use a probe to make a connection between two contacts and the locking light turns green. Twelve seconds. Sometimes I even impress myself. I crack the door ever so slightly and listen to make sure no one is coming. The corridor is silent.

It's now or never. I focus for a moment, and then feel the cold warmth spread over my body. I'm down the hallway in no time and at the next security door. Just as I thought, another AZ4700. At least they bought in bulk. I start the task of picking it and am through in no time. A couple more doors later, and I'm almost outside.

Getting past the guards is the hardest part. Sure they can't see me, but quicksilver only makes me invisible, not silent. And it takes five minutes to quietly inch my way by them. With every second I'm waiting for the alarm to go off.

But it doesn't, and I reach the final door. Now comes the hard part: the waiting. Sure I could pick this lock too, but the guards would notice the door open in a second. So I have no choice but to wait for someone to open the door for me. But, during my many practices, I've learned that Bob (the name I've given one of the guards since they won't tell me their real names) always wreaks of smoke. So all I have to do is wait...

"I'll be back in five," Bob says to Jimmy (yeah, another of my given names). Jimmy just nods as Bob walks by me and types in his code. The lock goes green, Bob opens the door, and I slip out right behind him.

Bob lights up a smoke, turns right and starts walking. I turn left and start running. I've memorized the layout of the base. At least the parts of the base I've seen, and have figured the fastest way out. I smile as I run through the cool night air. I look up at the stars that I haven't seen in I don't know how long. I look at the full moon...and stop in my tracks.

The moon floats in the sky, but it's not really the moon anymore. It's three huge chunks of rock that used to be the moon. Around the base, the alarms start blaring, but I can't force myself to keep running. All I can do is look up at the sky as searchlights bend around me.

"What the hell is going on...?"

I find myself covered with what was left of some of the alien’s battle suites. Blur’s last attack was something spectacular, next time I’ll make sure not to be to close to the action.

As I begin to get up I throw the torn piece of armor off of me. Once to my feet I take a quick glance around the area to see everyone else’s situation. Right away I notice the hero known as the Survivor taking on Ultima. My first thought is to run over there and deliver a jaw shattering left hook to Ultima's face. That would feel incredible but I know that’s not what Icon would want from me. Helping the others is what he told me so…

As I look for the others the first thing I see is a samurai at the machines control panel. He seems to be a little frustrated, it obvious he is trying to stop the machine he must have run into a problem. I have read tons of things on computers and lots of different electronics I might be able to help. Wasting no more time I speed off and make it beside the samurai within a blink of an eye. Before I say anything to him I take a quick look at the controls. I then turn my attention to him.

“To bad those sirens going off doesn’t mean it time to pack up and go home.” I say in a joking manner knowing full well this is no time to joke but it is my way of breaking the ice and also a way for me to just get my mind off the fact that we all are probably going to die.

“Is there anyway I can help?”

"Only if you know how to shut this infernal machine down", Kensei growled in frustration.
He was not a fan of technology. You'd think with being alive for hundreds of years, and seeing technology grow from scratch, he would be well versed in the many fields.
But, that was most assuredly not the case.

The Celestial Samurai pulled out the Kusanagi, preparing to begin carving the machine apart.

"Unless you have a better idea, stand back."

"You sick little ****," growled Adam as a blast of energy was about to be set loose from his eyes, but a great force knocked the Survivor back at the last moment. Telekinesis. Right, he thought.

"Survivor, right? Gotta say, I wasn't expecting that..." Ultima says before *BAMF* teleporting into thin air and the reapearing in front of The Survivor, meeting him with an uppercut of epic proportions. The Survivor cant remember the last time he was hit that hard. It was almost dibilatating. Almost.

The Survivor shakes it off, knowing good and well whats at stake. He rushes towards Ultima and riddles the villain with a barage of punches, each one seeming to take just as much out of The Survivor as it does Ultima.
Ultima falls backwards on his ass, laughing like a hyena the whole time.

"I don't know who the hell you are, but I won't let you take my planet..."

"Well then..." Ultima says as he gets back up and dusts himself off.
"You are more than welcome to try to stop me. I have killed so many people today, that even if you did kill me dead right now, I still win."

"If you think you scare me in the slightest bit, you are dead wrong..."

"You are the 3rd hero to confront me in the past 10 minutes... And look at the other two, they are practically dead!"

Icon begins to pull himself back off the ground but but Ultima teleports to him and kicks hiim in the stomache, ensuring he doesn't get up.

"SEE?!? That's ICON himself for Christs sake Who the hell are you?!"

Survivor smirks as his eyes begin to glow brighter than before....

"I am the guy thats about to shuts your loud *****ing mouth for good. If anything I should at least get a medal for that"

Survivor an Ultima run towards eachother, each one with their fists cocked back. As they begin to collide, Icon finally pulls himself up. He tries to yell out to the Survivor but he doesn't even have the strength to project his voice.

"He's...distracting you. You have to stop....

The Eradicator..."

Before Kensei could begin slicing away at the machine I step in front of him.

"Now wait, if you was a intelligent alien race from another planet and you came to this planet to destroy it. Would you build a machine like this that has so much destructive power that all you would have to do is slice it up to stop it? I'm guessing if you do that, chances are it is going to still be active and do what it was built to do. Just give me a chance to try and stop it. I seen a lot of these aliens at work with the computer aspect of their battle suits and i know a lot about computers and other types of technology. With my decisive memory, any encounter with the aliens and all the books i read i can access it in my mind like i just learn it right now. Along side my super speed i can work at a very fast rate. If all else fail we can do it your way and i'll help you demolish the thing."

Kensei sheathed his sword and nodded in agreement.

"Hurry, we don't have much time."

As both opponents fists crashed into the other's face, the hero and villain were both sent back from the force of the hits. Getting up, Ultima appeared to have nothing more serious than a fresh stream of blood coming from his nose, while the Survivor had to gag for several moments before beginning to struggle to his feet.

At this rate, this is gonna take a while.

Staggering to stand upright, anyone watching could see that Adam's head was very noticably off-center. A closer examination would show that his neck had been severely broken by the force of Ultima's punch to his head. However, it was a matter instantly remedied as his neck gave a loud CRACK! when it shifted itself back into its proper postion and mended the internal damage.

Rolling his neck to shake off any stiffness, the Survivor crouched down into a fighting stance again. "It'll take more than that to keep me down, freakshow. Have I told you about the time when I blew my own brains out?" Charging up his fists with energy, he charged at Ultima again, ready to fight until backup could arrive.

archangelbanner1.jpg

"Nah, I think I just worked a miracle for you; your not dead. Oh, and...believe me, if that were the case this responsibility of mine would be much easier to handle."

He's about to get up; your natural reaction I'd say. But I stop him beforehand because my work's not done yet. He nods, and I get up, only to walk down over to his legs where the other damage is done.

"Man, you were really bookin'. How fast do you think that was?"

I rub my hands together, and place them one below his leg on his hamstring, and other on the same leg's kneecap. He winces a bit, but I can see that it quickly becomes soothing for him as the healing process begins. Doesn't take too long before I'm already working on the other leg.

"My advice? Try not to go that fast again."

The work done, I help him up and I can see the sensation in his face as he is able to freely move his legs again. He looks at me like I'm some God...ironic, eh?

"Think nothing of it, dude. You helped me stop that villain Night Fox from stealing that painting of mine. Consider us even."

Dr. Harrison walks into his office where Dylan is watching out the window.

Harrsion says, "Mr. Chambers."

Dylan turns around and the Doctor continues, "She made it through surgery and is resting now, but you should know that she lost a lot of blood and suffered massive internal traumas we'll do everything we can. You can see her for a few minutes in room 422 if you like for only a few minutes though."

Dylan says, "I want the truth Doctor."

Harrison replies, "I give her about a 30% chance at best. We are doing all that we can but the injuries were just so extensive. If she gets through the night she might have a 45% chance. Not to mention even if she does recover she might have extensive brain-damage only time will tell."

Dylan nods and says, "Thank you doctor continue treating her. Use any means at your disposal ethical or not."

Harrison nods and leaves.

Dylan then leaves the office and walks to Brenda's room

He sees her laying in her bed with tubes and IV-s sitcking out of her body. A bandage engulfs her skull and the beeping of machines fills the air. Dylan sits next to her bed he holds her hand and for the first time in his life...Dylan weeps.

There might be something I can do...I have never done this before but I have to try.

He says, "Brenda your mind will heal your body. Your mind will begin to heal you. You will suffer no ill effects."

Dylan notices that some of the brusing is subsiding and her scars are slowly healing. He then sees Brenda slowly open her eyes. She looks right at him and says in a very rapsy voice, "Dylan"

He smiles and wipes his tears away.

Dylan now turns his attention back to the image of the burning city outside the window.

Those so called-heroes brought this invasion upon us, and as a result they almost cost me the only person I have ever....loved. They will pay for this I swear to you Brenda...they will pay.

As Survivor engages Ultima, Icon tries to get himself together. He struggles to get to his feet, his legs feel like spaghetti and he isn't sure if they will support him. But he has to try, he knows that the fate of not only Lost Haven, but the entire world depends on what happens tonight.

Icon takes a step toward Ultima and Survivor and stumbles, almost falling flat on his face, but something, or someone grabbed him at the last instant, holdinghim up.

"Looks like you could use a hand."

Icon turns toward the familiar voice, surprised to see Blacklight standing there with a look of determination that he hadn't seen on the young hero's face before."

"I'd say. We have to shut down the Eradicator...If that thing goes off it's game over." Icon says as he motions toward monsterous machine.

Before the two heroes can do anything, they see that Ultima has gained the upper had on The Survivor. Without missing a beat, Blacklight attacks Ultima with Icon right behind him.

Kensei sheathed his sword and nodded in agreement.

I have been through every possible command a thousands time, literality. Still nothing is working. Even though I don’t fully understand this alien language I understand enough to at least shut this machine down.

As I’m about to call it quits, something pops up on the monitor. I can’t make out all of it but I can’t make out enough to know this isn’t good.

“I think we are in trouble, if I’m translating this correctly there is no way to stop this machine. I think we need to go to plan B.”I say turning towards the samurai’s direction. If he could only see my face through this mask he would know that right about now I’m scared out my mind.

Françoise frowned as the god-sent warrior left to go deal with other things, and in frustration, she simply blew up a few more of the minions, and then used their bodies to build a wall to slow them down some.

"Venomous monstrosities. I'd sooner have you decaying in my stocks, than serving my divine self," her tone of pure disgust and arrogance, the black voids in her masque giving nothing away, her shoulders rolled back, her lips in a sneer.

Done with that task, she turned to look at the gigantic machine which everybody seemed to be gathering around, stopping to note another battle happening in the area. One she had no interest in, despite the enormous magical power ongoing that direction. She was confident it wouldn't be snuffed out, so her focus was on what everybody was tense about.

Françoise approached the god-sent warrior again, with his friend, just as he was describing some form of secondary plan.

"Plan B? And just what is this monstrosity? Some form of earth troll? It fills me with disgust. Tell me it's something to destroy. Erm... Well, I mean, it's what we do right?" Françoise temporarily forgetting to mask her voice with the sweeter tone, she quickly fixes it on the last sentence.

Lisa Thomas sits in the living room of the Morse home, watching the seemingly endless news coverage of the battle in Lost Haven. She has been sitting there for hours, watching as the news cameras each jockey for the best possible position to broadcast from.

The voyeuristic nature of the coverage makes her sick, yet she couldn't pull herself away from the television even if her life depended on it. She watches the broadcast with a knot in her stomach, not just because of the epic scale of the battle, or even because the fate of the world hangs in the balance....but because the man that she loves is right in the thick of it.

To the world, he is Icon. One of the greatest heroes that the world has ever seen. But to her, he is just Scott. Her lover, confidant, and best friend. And he is in trouble. She has watched as he battled what seemed like an endless number of alien battle suits fighter aircrafts. She couldn't take her eyes away from the television set as the news crews reported on the giant alien weapon that was erected in the middle of Central Island, and Icon's attempt to stop it. And she watched as he has been beaten nearly into unconsciousness by a familiar enemy...the super villain known as Ultima, the same madman who had attacked the bus that Jenny was on when the attack first happened.

Now other heroes have joined the fight, but it might be too late. Scott has been beaten so badly that he can barely stand, but he keeps trying. She has never seen him more determined. Unfortunately, no matter how determined he is, no matter how many times he gets back up, Ultima just beats him back down.

She takes a deep breath and quivers as she watches her lover continue to take a beating. And it is now that she remembers that she is not alone, that Scott's family...his mother and father, and his sister Jenny are watching with her, just as transfixed on the television as she is. She fights the urge to get up and take her keys and return to what's left of Lost Haven. She remembers that Scott had sent her here with Jenny to keep them safe. But that's the thing, no place is safe. If the invasion force wins in Lost Haven, the entire planet is doomed.

And if she is going to die, she'd rather die at his side.

Lisa gets up from her seat on the sofa and heads over to her purse, grabbing her keys she heads for the front door.

"Where are you going Lisa?" Scott's father Jacob asks, already knowing what she is planning.

"I have to go back Jacob. I have to be with him."

"Listen to me Lisa, you can't go back, it isn't safe for you there. Scott sent the two of you here because he can't do his job if he has to worry about where you are too. You need to stay here with us until this is over."

"I know, but this just doesn't feel right. I really..."

"Dad's right Lisa. If we go back we'll just end up getting Scott killed."

"Have you been watching? He might get himself killed regardless. I can't just sit here..." Her sentence trails off as she begins to sob.

Elizabeth, Jenny and Scott's mother puts her arm around Lisa and forces a smile. She has had a hard time watching her youngest son put his life on the line time after time, and the current crisis is no exception. Though, something about this invasion seems different...she doesn't know if anything that her son, or anyone else does is going to be enough. Deep down Elizabeth Morse feels that we are going to lose this war.

"Listen sweetheart, they're right. Nobody knows what's going to happen, but we have to have faith. And right now, we should be with family. So you are right were you belong....with your family." She says with a sincere, yet forced smile.

With that, Lisa sets her bag down and returns to the sofa to watch helplessly as Scott continues to take a beating at the hands of Ultima.

Later

Lisa gets out of her bed, being careful not to wake Jenny, she quickly gets dressed and sneaks out of the room that the two had been sharing. Moving silently through the dark house, she makes her way down the stairs. Her heart jumps as one of the steps creaks loudly, and she stands there completely still. When she is sure that no one heard her, she continues down the stairs.

Finally, she reaches the front door. She grabs her purse and searches for her keys, once she finds them she carefully opens the front door, making certain that she doesn't make a sound. She gently closes the door and tiptoes to her car. She has mixed emotions as she puts the keys into the ignition and starts the car. On one hand, she feels guilty for sneaking away from the Morses like this, but on the other hand she just has to get back to Lost Haven. She doesn't know how this war is going to end, but she needs to be there...with Scott when it does.

Introduces The Youngster's SC
Daughterofthunder.jpg

The citizens that were left in Iowa run for their lives hoping just like everyone else in the world that they will survive this brutal attack taking place. Most if not all pubic and residential areas have been obliterated leaving the area to look some what like a waste land. At first glance no one would realize that the pavement you would call a road was mix with crushed vehicles, debris of buildings and human bodies. A sufficient amount of the area has been totally whipped out but one. This one spot hasn’t been attack by the aliens because of one warrior. Just one warrior has been holding back a great amount of these uninvited guests. If any try to pass her she strikes them down with the same ruthless aggression they have showed mankind. If you would gaze upon her you wouldn’t know just how great of a warrior she is, her beauty alone would distract you. But if you were fortunate enough to witness the carnage she has dealt to the aliens you wouldn’t dear judge a book by its cover again.

“You wretched creatures will all fall victim to the power of Mjolnir! I shall not show you any sympathy.” Her words are so powerful if it wasn’t for the fact that with her hammer she can control the weather you would have thought that the thunder was sounding just because she spoke.

She threw Mjolnir at one of the near by battle suits. The force of Mjolnir rip right throw the battle suit with ease. She extends her hand out and Mjolnir makes it way back to her hands. She then raises the hammer in the air.

“By the will of Thor!” she shouted as the clouds began to part and that same thunder that was sounding when she was speaking earlier is now more ear shattering than ever. Lightning could be seen within the clouds almost as if it was charging up before striking. She then aims Mjolnir in the direction of the last wave of battle suits. Instantly lightning strike one battle suit then continued like a chain hitting the rest destroying them all within a matter of minutes.

She looks at her handy work and smiles with delight at how easily they fell to the daughter of Thunder. Her moment of satisfaction is cut short as she gets a transmission coming from her two way radio ear piece.

“Thena this is Phoenix do you copy? Thena come in?” The one named Phoenix is a hero who has gathered other heroes over the year’s to handle certain situations. On a mission not to long ago he met the rookie hero Youngster. He and a few others saved his life. Youngster wanted to join but Phoenix at the time felt that he wouldn’t do nothing but get in the way, but that is a story for another time.

“I hear you human, speak.”

“Velocity needs your help in China, he’s gotten way over his head.”

“I have no desire to help the so called speedster with the mouth, send another.”

“You’re the only one who is available, help him NOW!”

Phoenix may be just a human to Thena but he is a human who doesn’t take crap from anyone even if they say they are the daughter of the Mighty Thor.

“Very well.”

Thena then swings Mjolnir wildly into the air and then hurls it into the air and grippes the thong of the shaft, she then is being pulled along by the force she created.

As this new individual join me and the samurai I was going to respond to what she ask but her appearance set me back, she literally had me at a lost for words. I can’t really say I’ve seen anyone look as unique as her. Got to admit the purple butterfly masque is pretty hot. Wait what am I saying? The world is about to end and I’m here judging someone by how they look. I really don’t have any room to talk I am the one here wearing a ski mask after all.

“This monstrosity as you put is called The Eradicator those friendly aliens that lay on the ground dead other there built it. It has enough destructive power to kill every living creature on this planet. I tried my best to stop it but I just don’t know enough to translate the entire alien language. But I know enough to understand that trying to stop it this way is not going to work. So we are going to have to destroy it. That’s plan B.” I say with a smile on my face but with the mask on it conceals my reaction.

I feel my knees pop and crack as I stand up. I stretch my legs, feel my hamstrings tighten up and then ease up as I get loose.

"So, now that we're even Mr. Angel man. Wanna help me kick some alien ass?"

Goddess looks towards the man in the odd head cloth contraption, and for a moment, simply thinks him to be mocking her in style of dress. Pushing it aside though, this was her forte, and a chance to get in just a little bit deeper.

"So all we have to do is destroy this...evil beast... That should be simple enough," the Goddess responds in her prettied up voice, "What are the consequences of destroying it though? I mean, I can destroy it, but if it hurts all the little farmland creatures around here, I couldn't possibly bare to do it," obviously trying to press her innocence, her crimson lips shifting to a frown, and sinking her shoulders.

"Geez, you have to be kidding me..." her cat mutters from beneath her cloak, to which Goddess simply responds to by kicking him.

, Kensei's eyes narrowed.
"I can feel the evil pouring out of you. I allow you here simply because of the situation we are all in. Once we finish with this alien scourge, you are next."

As Icon renews his attack, battering Ultima with thunderous punches so hard that they shatter any windows in the area still intact, causing a veritable "rainstorm" of falling glass...Blacklight takes a moment to check on The Survivor who is on the ground recovering from his fight with the villain.

"I'm fine. Go help Icon, I don't know how much longer he can keep this up." The Survivor tells the younger hero, who nods in acknowledgement and turns back to the fight.

Icon continues his assult on Ultima, each punch sending shockwaves throughout the immediate area. Icon has Ultima down on one knee, barely conscious as the hero continues to attempt to beat him into submission. Suddenly Icon feels a sharp pain in his back as one of the few remaining battle suits attacks from behind.

The momentary distraction is all that Ultima needs, hitting Icon with an uppercut that sends the hero crashing into the battle suit, destroying it.

"I have to admit...this has been alot of fun. But enough is enough, now...you die." Ultima says as he brings his arms up over his head, preparing to deliver a fatal blow to Icon.

Over the relatively short time that Icon has been a superhero, he has met numerous foes, each powerful in their own right...but none have ever been a true match for him. Many of them have made the same threats as Ultima, taunting him...telling him that this will be his last day in this world. Each vowing to kill him...But something is different now, there is something different about Ultima. Icon knows without a shadow of a doubt that this madman can make good on his threat.

"Not today scumbag!" Blacklight exclaims as he flies into Ultima's back, sending him reeling over Icon's head, crashing into the side of one the destroyed buildings.

Icon gets to his feet, and together with Blacklight again presses the attack on Ultima. Together, the two heroes are joined by Survivor, and as a team the three heroes are too much for Ultima, who tries to fight back, but every attack is countered by Icon and Blacklight.

Ultima staggers back several feet, trying to get separation from his attackers. As Icon, Survivor and Blacklight move in to finish the fight, Ultima holds up a single finger, beckening them to stop.

The three heroes hesitate, and when they do Ultima does something strange, and unsettling.

He laughs.

"Give it up Ultima, you're beaten. It's over."

"Hahaha...You're right about that hero. It is over. I've won."

"What are you talking about? Your forces are retreating from the island, we've stopped you. Just give it up, no one else needs to die here today."

"You don't understand. All the meddling that your friends have done with the Eradicator has activated the fail safe. All your efforts to disable the machine and save this pitiful world has doomed it. You and your friends have ensured our victory. I want you to think about that as you die."

As Ultima continues to laugh maniacally, Icon, Blacklight, Survivor, and the rest of the beings fighting to save this planet look up as the Eradicator roars to life.

"So, now that we're even Mr. Angel man. Wanna help me kick some alien ass?"

"Well, I suppose there are several options. Looks like these boys came prepared and with diversity. We can tango with several footman, take on an army of battle suits. Oh, my personal favorite is knocking those aliens riding the sky bikes off their own butts. And if you really wanna show off we can make scrap metal out of those big old battle cruisers and--"

My smirk quickly shifts away. Ain't it always the way? You find yourself in the heat of battle, during an alien invasion, and with all the adrenaline coursing through your body you miss the most important darn thing of all.

I've seen more than enough Sci-Fi films to understand that whatever that light show is? It's not good. Knowing my luck and the luck of the world, I'd say that is some big old nasty thing that we don't want to finish doing whatever it's doing. Some great big machine whose sole purpose is to eradicate all life. That...or it is one wicked disco ball and we truly are missing the rest of the party and fun. But my luck isn't ever that good.

"...I'd say our number one priority would be to take down whatever is causing that ever so colorful and intense light show. See you there."

I take to the skies, kicking into high gear, and make these angel-fire wings flap as fast as they possibly can. This seriously seriously seriously...cannot be good.

, Kensei's eyes narrowed.
"I can feel the evil pouring out of you. I allow you here simply because of the situation we are all in. Once we finish with this alien scourge, you are next."

Goddess turns to Kensei, and simply said, "Such harsh words to an innocent merely tainted against her will by demonic forces..." her words carrying a tinge of sadness and hurt to them, and turns back, "I shall prove my intent here," she lied.

At first, she simply just tries a few of her fire bursting spells, yelling "Duchet" over and over, a little louder than the time before, making the explosions a little bigger than before. Unfortunately, none of them even left a scratch. To this, Goddess frowned. Sure, she had some higher eschelon spells, but they were all a slight bit...risky.

"So, gonna have to actually back up your words now, are ya?" the cat purred, "But no demon summoning. They'll catch you. And it seems like you don't have the magical power to rain fire and brimstone anymore, so what to do?"

"Simple, butterflies. Besides, I don't think I even have any of those left..." was her only answer, and seemingly to noone in particular.

"Wait wait. No. You -just- woke up,"

"Shut up," she flatly said, and curled her fists, raising her face to the sky, then to Kensei, sweetening her voice again, "Please protect me in my most vulnerable moments..."

The magic itself is mostly considered forbidden with the high mortality rate that came with it, and with that knowledge, extremely bright streams of white flowed from the Goddess' head, her eats, her mouth, her nose, and her previously darkened eyeholes of her masque, all of them rushed out and darted for the sky high above her for roughly ten seconds. The energy itself became an odd undistributed mass which simply hung as a blob in the sky, with Goddess coughing below.

"Step two..." her voice groggy, even crackling. Goddess thrust out her hands flat, pointed to one another, and the mass above her seemed to imitate the action with two streams of energy reaching out. She waved her right arm out, and the mass followed, her left, and the same with the mass. Up, and it did the same, down, and it mimicked. "Argh, I forgot how hard it was to flex it out..." she actually seemed tired. But finally, the mass seemed more controlled, and she slapped her hands together in front of her face, and then spread them to have only her fingertips and thumbs touching. The mass, in turn, simply became a perfect sphere of white energy itself, and the Goddess began mumbling to herself, as little tiny objects began to peel off of the sphere.

Little white butterflies, each one dancing and floating around the sphere, two, then five, then nine. Then thousands, as the sphere literally erupted into an entire swarm of butterflies, rushing down to their handler, the coughing Goddess. The Goddess herself, however, looked no better, as some blood trickled from her nose. The butterflies themselves though needed no overt commands, and upon reaching her at the ground, the rushed out along it, to meet her enemies head on.

"They require...a little more life energy than I provided..." Goddess' voice definitely decreasing in quality, as she coughed blood out into her hands, dribbling down her chin. The magic itself was life powered, her own, and the butterflies needed more. And so they obtained, peeling through the enemy army directly around her, drying them to husks, the butterflies glowing brighter. And after the field was temporarily cleared around them, they rushed back to the ailing Goddess.

Blood now oozing from the masque's eyes, and blow the masque itself, as well as her ears, she opened up her hands, spreading her arms wide as the butterflies swarmed around her, but not into her. The end result was the Goddess, brightened high, with large butterfly wings of her own, entirely out of magic, her eyes beaming in brightened energy, and she floated up towards the sky with it.

"This should be about enough," she rasped out, as she curled her fingers around each other, and her bloodied, crimson lips parted as she floated higher and higher into the clouds.

"Dammit! Why'd you use this?" her cat, clenched to her leg complained.

"You didn't have to come, pet, you could've stayed down there where you'll be safe," showing small concern.

Goddess finally reached just above the clouds, the air thin, her body in massive pain, her ability to reason fading. She once more pushed her hands out, and the spread her arms wide as a large circle began to form in front of her, and then grew and grew, at least ten times the length of her body in diameter. The circle began to shimmer, like water being disturbed by an earthquake, eventually becoming a tide of magic itself, glowing blue, silver, and white. The activation word was one only those blessed with the training could mutter, for when Goddess opened her mouth, it resembled what most would describe as a simple yell. However, those who listened closely could tell that it was more than such, but at any rate, it did achieve what she wanted.

From the circle exploded a large white light, rushing down like thick lightning, fanged and horned at it's head, a roar piercing like thunder across the landscape as it nailed the ground next to the massive object, and then ripped from the ground on the other side, repeating the process until it was surrounding the object completely. When finished, the head of the magic itself roared once again, cracking like thunder, and began to pull the object up towards the Goddess. The object itself was obviously buckling under the spells clinch. And when it reached up near the clouds, the head of the spell bit itself, unleashing its energy in a fierce coccoon around the object, like a tornado of magic localized to that small area. And then, nothing. It simply sparked out of existance, with no trace of anything behind it. Well, maybe a few scraps here and there. The Goddess was tired after all, and that was all she could support.

Indeed, the Goddess was very injured, her sealing spell on the alien slave going undone, and in one rare moment of bravery, Patches killed him. However, the concern was the slowly descending spell slinger, who simply corrected herself, and landed on her wobbly legs.

"Ha... To summon the butterfly dragons, one must sacrifice life magic for it..." And with that, she simply blacked out and collapsed.
