I wonder what they are pairing with Supergirl and Riverdale?

Could it be the series "Valor"? and then the "Dynasty" wannabe paired with "Riverdale"?

Yes; according to Deadline.

Do you think Arrow will do better up against Gotham than Supergirl?

Would have been an interesting competition - since both these DC shows are on the dark side of things. But apparently, Arrow will be going up against The Orville (not Gotham) on Thursdays.

Why didn't they put Supergirl on Wednesdays instead of Mondays, now that Arrow is no longer occupying that spot?

And what Dynasty wannabe series is there?

Because Monday nights on the CW are doing better than they have in over 8 years, and on CBS Monday nights are down 20% from last year, so apparently they believe that she is doing just fine on the toughest night of the week.

Not a 'wannabe.' It's another modern remake of a classic series, in the vein of 90210, Melrose Place, Hawaii Five-0, and Dallas.

And out of all that you just mentioned except for Melrose Place, it was an off shoot of 90210 but has not been remade YET. But out of the ones you mentioned the only one that isn't a wannabe is Hawaii Five-0 the others were definite wannabes and their ratings showed it. So until proven otherwise this is a wannabe. :)

Glad Supergirl stays on Mondays.

As for Arrow, it's going up against plenty of shows including Gotham and TNA Impact.

Ummm...

Valor will be after Supergirl on Mondays and Dynasty will be after Riverdale on Wednesdays.

You mean there's a new Dynasty TV series?

I suppose this will have younger actors in the parts of Blake, Alexis and Crystal?

Dallas wasn't a remake though but a sequel. It still had some of the original cast, but was like Dallas the Next Generation.

Ok just watched the Dynasty trailer. That looks like a piece of crap. Crystal (instead of Krystle) seems to be much more conniving and a gold digger than the original, who loved Blake, but Fallon never trusted her motives. This time it seems like Fallon is right about her. The original Krystle would never have acted like that. And Blake doesn't seem to be quite distinguished enough.

And why are they repeating the plot of the entire first season again? That was boring. The series only took off when Joan Collins joined as Alexis in the beginning of season 2.

And they've made Heather Locklear's character Sammy Jo a male, who still gets together with Steven Carrington, this time as a gay lover instead of as his wife. I don't think Sammy Jo was even in the original first season, so if they're following it so closely, why bring her/ him in now? Should've just stuck with Steven's original gay lover, Ted Denard.

I don't think I'll be watching this series though. It's different from Dallas, where it has some of the original stars, and I wanted to see how the story continued. Here, I have no desire to watch it all over again right from the start with different actors.

I wonder if it will even have an updated version of the theme tune or something completely different.

:funny:

Consider yourself lucky, Kelly. I DO remember that Melrose Place remake, unfortunately.

Everything you are saying means absolutely zilch to me. When "Dynasty" was on I was in High School and far too busy for stupid TV. My days were full of school, tennis, homework and a guy named David. :cwink: "Dynasty", "Dallas", "that other tv show that was a spin off of Dallas", and pretty much anything else on TV was my mom's thing, I usually just rolled my eyes, went into the kitchen grabbed dinner and did homework. Aaaaaaahhhhh those were the days. :)

I ended up loving it lol. They were on the right track by the end of the season with dropping Ashlee Simpson. I think if it got a S2 it would've been great.

I was in high school too when it was on, but somehow I watched it. It was kind of a family show. :o

I remember watching the chick fight in, was it a fountain? That was kind of entertaining.

And I remember the whole Rock Hudson craziness.

I think there was a fountain cat fight.

Good point, because right now, Hawaii Five-0 is the most successful of all the revamped classic series, having just been renewed for an eighth season. (That's three-quarters of the way to the run of the original series, which was from 1968-1980.) The 90210 reboot ran for five seasons.

The revival of Dallas ran for two seasons (2012-14), but I think Larry Hagman's death near the mid-point of Season 2 had some impact.

Most others were cancelled after one season (Team Knight Rider, Heroes Reborn), while others were gone after just a few episodes (Charlie's Angels [2011]).

So this means that iZombie will once again not start up until Legends finishes its season?

Yep likely the same deal for Legends and iZombie.

Oh, and who could forget the Moldavian Massacre?

That was one of the high point of excesses, but only one or two characters died in the end and they weren't any of the main cast.

You'd think they would want to bring in Alexis as soon as possible though, like they might do if they were making a film. They really do seem to be repeating the first season of Dynasty, which was quite boring and before it really caught on with the public.

And making Crystal/ Krystle more of a ***** isn't really the right approach, because she needs to contrast with the true ***** in Alexis if she finally comes along. They also should've just kept Crystal as a blonde because now she looks too similar to Alexis as a brunette and also behaves too similarly as well.
