Ashley Tisdale has joined the cast of Hellcats.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the pilot is in development at The CW and is on track for a fall pickup by the network.

The plot is said to focus on the world of competitive college cheerleading. If Tisdale remains with the show, it will be the first time that she has taken on a character her own age since leaving the High School Musical films.

The programme is executive produced by Kevin Murphy and Smallville lead Tom Welling.

The dramedy is one of six shows in the works at The CW, including Betwxt, Nakita and an untitled Amy Holden James project about Harvard medical students

Ashley Tisdale is the only good thing about this show so far.

I accidently flipped to this show....and then wanted to stab my eyes out.

they had a CW fall tv preview special about a week ago and they showed a few clips from this show

some great candy, but the show itself sucks

The girls are hot but the show not so much. I lived in Memphis all my life and the scenery is more Oregon than Tennessee.

Sounds like a typical CW show. Dawn O just doesn't freakin get it!

I thought it was eh...I most likely won't be watching anymore of the episodes.

Aly Michalka is getting ****** ass reviews for her role in this. At least Tisdale can act.

Tisdale looks much better as a brunette. Aly might not be the greatest actress, but man can that girl dance.

Whenever Aly was on her bike riding I just couldnt help but laugh. She looked so serious and determined to get wherever she needed to be.

CW's 'Hellcats' is absolutely awful

"Hellcats," says Alessandra Stanley, "is basically a soft-porn music video for teenagers," with Aly Michalka miscast in the lead role. "Glee," she says, "has proved that there is plenty of room for innovation and wit in the youthful-angst genre, but 'Hellcats,' inspired by the 2000 movie 'Bring It On,' doesn’t even try.

It is any antonym for "Glee": Mean-spirited, painfully dumb, badly acted:

I hope there's nudity on film in Aly Michalka's future. :o

I cannot fully support this piece of crap. But my god there are some hot ass woman on this show. It is like a war between taste & sexual gravitation.
