The Cyclops/Scott Summers Thread

Ok the real question is who is going to be the biggest dilf? James marsden in this or Chris Evans in endgame

cool. But twitter's Grok can create really impressive and faithful work (Ive made quite a few already and Marsden looks amazing!)

Its going to be real moment when James Marsden finally walks in a superhero costume, that isn't in black leather! Its way overdue! :cyclops:

TLDR; Jack Champion was asked about playing cyclops but he knows nothing about it

Yeah to me he doesn’t quite have Slim’s stoicism but I guess if marvel likes him I’ll give him a go

I was thinking that too. It must be very intimidating for the new actors coming in.

But then again I suppose that sort of thing happens all the time on broadway

I thought it would have been easier after Dark Phoenix bombed and most of the OT cast felt like they were already done in their X-Men roles. After all Marvel Studios already rebooted Hulk and Spider-Man successfully. But all these comebacks in the MCU, post-Endgame, is going to remind that these actors more known for their X-Men roles after 25 years since the first movie came out. They have such a big legacy.

They aren't even going to recast the Wolverine and Deadpool to begin with. So with some characters, they are already hesistant to truly start from scratch.

Yeah I feel very sorry for the new Wolverine with the ghost of Hugh Jackman hovering just out of earshot.

But I suppose they recast the joker and Batman and Superman and lots of roles and there was a bit of anger and then people just moved on so time will tell

Thats because Dc movies are complete mess as a whole. I don't know why they need to do "elseworld" movies while they are establishing a new Superman in a new movie verse.

FoXverse wasn't a complete disaster and Kevin Feige found a way to integrate actors/movie characters that were under different movie studios/franchises.

Yeah but still, I hope people give the new cast a go. I reckon they will. I mean, it’s not like they could play the role forever.

Unless James wants to get super old and come back in the new franchise as Cable  Or stryfe :mindblown:

A lot of the ot cast would be in their 60s by the end of this decade. So they would need to recast eventually.

Few years after Secret Wars, though? The new cast would have to knock everyone's socks off and the movie should be amazing. Or it would be like the First Class era cast, completely under the shadows of the Ot cast (and to this day since none of them are returning for Doomsday).

Ah well it worked for Spider-Man so it’s not impossible. I reckon people will embrace a new cast especially if they make it relevant for today. If it’s just nostalgia that will run out eventually

Not only Spider-Man, but also Fantastic 4.

Yeah well…I don’t meant to be rude but the FF’s previous casts weren’t exactly beloved in the same way although I appreciated Chiklis, Evans, Alba and Gruffold

The cast of First Class, Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix aren't also beloved.

No, it’s interesting they didn’t get invited back.

Although fassbender and Macavoy are still well regarded. Fassbender a bit less, I’ve heard some rumours
