The Dark Knight Action Figure SCOOP

WHOA!!! AWESOME!!!!

Is that the super detailed one or is that seperate??

Sweet MOTHER OF *HRIST!!!! K, honestly now methinks this 6-inch Batman movie line is just a friggin' thing that'll fall into the category of being 'too good to be true'.

PLEASE tell me that this is really happening and we aren't stuck with Mattels sucktacular 5-inch McDonalds 90s figures.....PLLLLEEEEAAAASSSEEE!!!

This movie (and Begins) is just too damn cool NOT to have detailed 6-inch figures based off of it.

Mattel you ARE capable, MORE than capable of doing these figures right in the 6-inch scale...make it happen stop kickin the fans in the balls:brucebat:

First of all ... that sneak peak is OUTSTANDING. I mean, that figure is a thing of beauty. So is the packages artwork ...

With that said, will someone tell this guy to chill out. These figures are being released. Mass produced. Calm the hell down. You think they're all of a sudden going to drop the line to spite you? LOL ...

Jesus, you get countless confirmations on the line, plus a picture and you still don't believe it? You truly might be nutz, man. Hahaha

Oh, and the BEGINS line was hardly "Happy Meal" toys. They were just as good as any other major motion picture toy line released in the past several years. The detail and authenticity was spot on, regardless if they were 5 inches. They sold very well, too. You'd have to be an idiot to have expected some ultra detailed collectors line, and that's it. Collectors aren't the majority of the market they are aiming for. However, they did throw us a bone this time around and make these as well to suppliment the 5 inch line.

Now, lets support it so we get more characters and maybe past movie lines. This collectors line should be great based off what I've heard, and now see. Can't wait to see more pics of TDK Batman and the Joker. What a treat. The 5 inch line should be great as well. Ahhh, what a time to be a bat-fan.

These should definetely "put a smile on my face."

I like how the box says "Movie Master". Maybe we'll get some other DC movie figures. A Christopher Reeves Superman would be a dream come true.

Man, I hope there's a demonbats from Begins figure at some point too. That was the best thing in the whole movie.

Hell yeah, "Bat Out of Hell" was awesome. A figure of that would be crazy. I'd cream my pants to have a Keaton Batman from B89 in the same size as a Bale Batman. And I'd even buy an accurate George Clooney Batman (With titty twisting action) if they made it ... Now THAT might be the only thing more freightning than the Demon Bats.

Haha, yeah perhaps I did get a little carried away, but I can assure you it's because I am soooo friggin' happy AND amazed I am waiting for someone to pinch me and I'll wake up. I mean you dont know how badly I have wanted 6-inch movie authentic action figures off of the Batman Begins and now the Dark Knight...just seems a little unreal that's all....but if that picture is any indication of what we'll be getting treated to then this is truly a dream come true!

And what do you work for Mattel or something LoL?! There was absolutely no excuse for the crap Mattel put out. If it was 1992 or something sure, but not 2005 sorry. Especially considering the work that Mattel has done with other figure lines prior to the release of the 'Begins' line

The ONLY figure that was somewhat decent was the Collectors Edition Batman figure (and even then a muuuch better job could have been done with deatailing and size etc)

See, look at the figures in the background behind the Collectors Batman...they SUCK! That Scarecrow, are you kidding me with those hands and glowing eyes/see-thru top of the head feature? Ras looks like a dummy and the articulation and overall quality of the plastic was something...well again, something out of a Happy Meal. Sorry, but that's a fact.

Either way, the Four Horseman have certainly come to the rescue on this and I LOVE THEM FOR IT!!!!! :woot:

Don't work for Mattel, I'm just being completely real, and intelligent. This isn't NECA or McFarlane. If you excpected Mattel to exclusively release 6 - 7 inch figures, you'd have been off your rocker.

W/ a 5 inch line, it caters to kids (the target market) and the playability factor is higher, the price is lower both to produce and for the consumer, and w/ a 5 inch line you can make accessories, play sets, and vehicles. Where they make a majority of their money off the line. Something you can't do for 6 - 7 inch figures. Seriously, think about the scale issues combined w/ cost. The 5 inch line had a Batmobile (the best mass released toy batmobile ever, btw) and it cost $30 bucks retail. If the line was 6 - 7 inches, the Batmobile would have to be significantly bigger. That thing would have cost in excess of $60. That wouldn't be flying off the shelves. That's why you don't understand what you're talking about. The playability factor for the line outweighs anything else. But this isn't like the Batman Returns line thru the Batman and Robin line. There was playability and the figures were accurate. The only one who was kind of askew was the Scarecrow figure. But they're releasing a new one w/ TDK 5 inch line.

You just keep looking at the size and the quality. There are a lot of other factors at work then just that. Mattel has potential to make way more profit w/ the line they've established. And please, if the BEGINS line was a McD's toy line ... so was Pirates, Spiderman - Spiderman 3, Hulk, Star Wars, etc all Happy Meal toys as well? LOL .... The BEGINS line was just as good as any of those for a mass released toy line, and some of them better. I mean that Collectors Edition BEGINS Batman, w/ rubber suit, velvetposeable cape, w/ accurate design and shape is by all purposes the BEST and most accurate Batman movie figure ever released. The Battle Gear had the best and most movie accurate accessories, yet.
It wasn't meant for you in terms of collectors. You're complaining about something ridiculous. Like you went and bought a 6 pack of kids juice boxes and then complain that it isn't high quality german beer. They weren't setting out to appease the image of a toy line you created in your head. So don't put it down like it was a piece of crap. Obviously they got you to buy them ... must not have been too bad.

Praise be to god we have this line of "Movie Masters" ... I wonder what the "chase" figures they're speaking of ... Demon Bats, maybe? Maybe an alternate "Prologue" costumed Joker w/ removable frowning clown mask, Lituenet Jim Gordon? Alfred "Nevah" Pennyworth. A Rachel that we can repeatedly kill off for fun? Can't wait to see more come Toy Fair.

Who else is in love w/ that packaging?

I like the artwork. I hope to see Batman doing things like that in the actual movie. And the shoulders appear bigger on the action figure, but I kind of like that.

I like the detail of the figure but there's something odd about the head sculpt and the shoulder pads aren't attached to the body. My hope is that the Four Horsemen will see what looks off and go back and change it.

I like the art on the packaging. It looks really cool.

Can somebody please PM me a link of the image, or post it here... they seem to have taken it down:(.

Its nice looking, hate the suit design tho, nice paint app. I hope this is a mock up tho because I dont see any articulation at all on this piece. I so hope this line evolves into the past movies. We need updated versions of the original 4.

How did you get the pic?

SUBJECT TO CHANGE. The Hyper Assortment features higher-end 6" collectable versions of the heroes and villains of Batman™, The Dark Knight. Poseable joints, authentic costumes and realistic faces; you'll find these figures are accurate down to twist in the smile on The Joker™ . Featuring highly detailed sculpts and superior articulation, Batman™ truly has the moves to counter his foes' laughable attacks.

I understand the subject to change part but I am still kind of upset at the lack of SUPERIOR ARTICULATION

Grin---thanks for all the info (posted it twice even! Once was enough ;) ) might wanna come down off your high horse there man, I wasn't being UN intelligent about anything....I was just havin' fun, this is a message board talking about Batman movie products, not a message board discussing the Periodic Table of Elements :D

Basically in summation my 1st message was this--Angry at Mattel for producing crap (and nooo sir they didn't GET me to buy anything, the only thing I did buy was the Collectors figure which I knew was my only hope of ever owning a decent movie figure from Batman Begins) so unbelievably happy that there are going to be REAL movie figures coming out--the fact that it is (check above post) SUBJECT TO CHANGE might worry me. Who is to say that they could decide to just release the 5-inch figures and completely cancel this 6-inch wave? You can't tell me honestly that it would never happen...

And Mattel is a big company that wants to save as much money as possible. McFarlane and Neca are companies that are no where NEAR the size of Mattel..that's why they put great emphasis on creating detailed, quality figures that the fans will snatch up. Mattel can mass produce a cheapy 5-inch line, throw it out there in thousands of stores and get a profit. However to be honest I check most toy stores on a regular basis if not to purchase than just to look around at all the cool stuff and the Batman and Superman movie toys? Yeah, nothing but dust collectors for the most part.

I never said the figures had to be Neca or McFarlane quality no no no sir, the figures just didn't have to be what they where that's all. I mean for christ sakes man, when was the last time Batman was in a decent movie on the big screen before Begins? KIND of a big deal I think...just dont see why Mattel had to take the McDonalds route thats all. If Mattel had come out with better figures they WOULD have sold just as well if not better because collectors who give a crap what the figures look like would snatch them up too in addition to the kiddies. That's catering to both demographics which is a smart thing to do. Mattel has released very cool figures prior the release of Begins (which I say again!) and they are more than capable of doing some movie figures right, end of story.

Either way I'm hoping this line really takes off and we do get some secondary characters like Gordon and Lucius Fox that would be awesome!
