i couldnt wait for the MM figures to make it to canada so i just bought Batman on ebay, next up the joker

I've been calling around stores to see if the MM figures are in stock and every wal-mart, target and toys-r-us I called said they have been recalled...

If the figures have been recalled...Why?

They should give a statement so people know why they are being recalled and when they will be re-released.

The figures haven't been recalled. They had problems with the ventilation of the MM packages, and the design of the packaging cost too much to produce. They are re-releasing the MM in new packaging. Might want to check TRU this week cause they just put up the HUGE billboards and displays so they will have the product in mass force.

Oh yeah, here is the pic of THE DARK KNIGHT 5 inch Joker with automatic machine gun. Trust me yall should find a gun for your Joker figure, makes him more lethal looking, IMO.

The Movie Masters have indeed been recalled. Have no clue why that happened, but EVERY store around here had TONS of the Movie Masters version of Batman and the Gotham Thug...within the last couple of days they are no where to be found and there are empty shelves where they once sat. They are no longer available at the moment.

I disagree, and the reason is because stores didn't just stop getting them, they PULLED them from the shelf and quit selling the ones they already had in stock. That's a recall, not a change in packaging to reduce cost. Otherwise they would just switch over to the new packages, and this would be a normal business move. But the previous packaging has already been paid for and shipped, and now those aren't being sold off.

That joker looks odd:csad:

I'm definitely pre-ordering that TRU two-pack of The Joker and Batman. I'm still holding out for being able to find a Joker and Thug at Wizard World next week. I'm thinking since I get to go to preview night, I get the lay of the land.

good luck placing that pre-order for the two-pack of The Joker and Batman...i had placed my pre-order on may 25th and just now received a notice that it has been backordered...not to mention i can't even find the item on their page now....so much for getting a mm joker figure that way..

(my pre-order for the bb batman and scarecrow two-pack is still active, though)

Son of a *****, you're right. This is sabotage!

this is so frustrating and confusing...why can't mattel or tru or someone official tell us what is going on with these mm figures, particularly the joker one...its like they're trying to erase it from our memories, whatwith tru removing all their pages containing mm figures (besides the bats and scarecrow two-pack, but give it time, i'm sure)...too bad all one has to do is look on ebay and see what we could have had...

How much are those 2-packs?

The single Joker has become absolutely impossible to find...I've been going to Wal-Mart nearly every day for 4 weeks and the whole Batman section is picked clean.

Sorry if this was already addressed, but I thought I'd pass on this info about the Kmart TDK "Exclusive 3 Pack". Go to the link and read the review...

Says "temporarily out of stock for delivery". A.K.A. "This isn't happening anymore." And some guy on there said when he ordered it, he got a Joker and a repackaged Batman Begins Batman and Scarecrow instead of the TDK Movie Masters.

GUYS! im trying to get my hands on some of the joker masks that came with the MM goon. i know some guys already opened the figs and im trying to get a hold of just the masks..its a long story but i need them from work, any of you guys have just the masks laying around and have no use? im willing to pay if we can work something out..pm me

Where is the official explanation for a recall?

There hasn't been an official statement. So far it seems like everything has been based off of assumptions. The rumor going around is that Toys R Us and a few other stores are doing their own safety checks on select merchandise, including, you guessed it, the Movie Masters figures. Some people are saying it's a rumor that was spread to increase the hype while others really think there is a recall because of the disappearance of the figures. Your guess is just as good as mine.

Me? I call BS on Mattel's part if this paint issue is indeed true.

Why the Movie Masters line and not the Basic line, or the 4" line, or the 12" line? What a coincidence that the most popular items that they produce are no longer available. You would think that they would use the same paint for all the other lines, yet they still linger on the shelves and pegs.

I doubt they have any problems with the paint, and if they do they obviously haven't learned their lesson. As stated above this may be a rumor to increase the already excessive hype, or maybe the stores are doing their own safety checks, but one things for sure all my stores carry the deluxe electronic line, the role playing items, the masks, the 4" line, the basic line, the vehicles, and the Action Cape and 12" Batman figures, everything but the popular Movie Masters line. This was out for three weeks and then simply vanished. I'm really glad I was able to get a two complete set of the 4 and then some, but i'm sure others weren't as lucky.

Mattel seems to have trouble with quality and distribution, not just with their Batman merchandise but all of their lines. Maybe Hasbro should buy them out, or at least obtain the rights for Batman and DC Comics. In my opinion, the Kenner and Hasbro Batman lines were much better.

I might just put mine away in plastic bins for now just in case their is a problem with them instead of taking them back and having them get destroyed, or worse, put up for sale. I have no idea whether this is a hoax/marketing ploy (to make people want these things even more) or a true heads up from a legitimate source.

Collectors, fans, and scalpers alike aren't really helping either. I can't tell the difference between truth and hype. One thing I just don't understand. Everyone is having trouble obtaining these, correct? They have vanished from retail, not a single peg dedicated for them, right? Then where are all these [censored] getting them from to put up on ebay. Out of curiosity I watched dozens of each figure on there, and each one went for a considerable amount of cash (except the underrated Batman and Goon). If everyone interested ignored the "buy it now" option and bid the retail price ($9.99-12.99) everyone would be able to get one at retail price. Batman, The Joker, the Gotham City Goon, and the Unmasked Chase alike. It's always the same 7 or 8 people bidding to the death with the same outrageous amounts for each figure. I really hate the "ebay mentality" over there, but what are you going to do? The buyers are just as bad as the sellers.

And why, if the rumors are true, would these people go after these things now. Chemicals and lead paint is a big deal, not something to buy up and make money on (that would be great in a couple of months to learn that the 14 Movie Masters figure I bought can significally harm me, or others). Are they really worth it? And just the same, are these things that great to spread rumors to increase the hype?

If it is true, how is Mattel still in business. It's been one f*** up too many for them, in my opinion.

In other news has any one seen these new pics from Wave 2?

I'll take the Begins suit over the new one any day. I'll be all over these for custom fodder, the actual figures, and MOC specimens for display. Hopefully these will be easier to obtain (and not contain any lead paint) considering they are both heavily packed in their case ratios. Mattel better not [censored] these up. When I find a third Movie Master Unmasked Batman, I plan on switching the heads with this one so I have a Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins garb.

Good analysis DiFabio. You know my thoughts on this issue.

On the subject of the new figures, they look great. What happened to that Two Face prototype we saw? When is that one coming? It looked too detailed to be part of the basic line.

I really think they are in high demand, and nobody saw them selling out like they did. I think they'll be back, but people are so impatient these days. The reason why we haven't heard anything, is cause they probably made the amount they needed, noticed they have to make more, are going to do that, and they'll be out soon enough.

To them, it probably isn't a big deal, they're happy that they sold 'em all, so they feel no need to explain that they sold out, cause the numbers are doing the talking. They'll make more, and hope they sell again. I'm sure everyone will get their Joker figure soon, just have patience people. :cwink:

The 3-pack is bull crap. I went to the Kmart right up the street from me and, no, it's not MM figures. Another thing, the Joker that's in the 3-pack is wearing a green jacket. It's quite horrible, in my opinion.
there might be avarient.
also i am pissed that i ahev no money to buy any fot hese figures :cmad:

MM figure three pack is exclusive to on-line only, but you can never order them, even when they say they are in stock you try and add them to the cart and they won't go in it says unavailable at this time. I have tried like 5 times to order them, they are having a problem with this. :cmad:

there are 2 versions of the 3 pack from Kmart. The one with the green coat is the retail exclusive and the purple coat is the internet exclusive. Also both come with a different TDK Batman and the other is the same.
