We should be thankful that filming was completed on TDK though...could you imagine if Heath had filmed about 25% of his scenes when he died. That would've been awful, a great performance probably never seen. Production would've been halted for who knows how long...and Nolan would've had to recast. I'm just so thankful we got his complete, legendary performance!

hey,

what about the scene in tv spot 6, i think its 27 seconds in, where there's a figure entering where bruce keeps the tumbler and it very much looks like the joker. this could also be connected to interviews ive read with michael caine where he says he had a scene with ledger where joker pays a visit to wayne's residence and he was stunned by ledger's performance.

any thoughts?

Here's a question my brother asks (he didn't like the film as much as I did) that I don't have an answer to:

if batman were to give up as he actually intends

how was gordon to capture the joker?

yet they already had the plan to fake gordon's death

so either batman never intended to turn himself in at that point

or gaping plot hole

left alone because its a cool reintroduction of gordon

well..1) that man that was entering that room with the tumbler, was alfred. it happened in the beginning of the movie when he went to go check up on bruce, and 2) the scene micheal caine was refering to with the joker was when the joker crashes bruces party. when he fires the shotgun afred was standing behind him.

What was the name of the Joker thug in the Cop outfit that Harvey took hostage in the ambulance? Batman said his name but I can't remember what it was.

In the jewel case of the Soundtrack, the pic behind the disc was Batman looking at his symbol in all HA HA HAs...Where was that in the movie? Did I miss something when he was looking for the bullet hole in the apartment?

Last question: When Dent took the shot (of alcohol) at the bar and he wiped his chin, did he wipe a piece of skin off? I don't recall noticing that small piece of exposed jaw bone before he drank. Maybe it was there and I just noticed it after he wiped.

It was never Batman's intention to give up to draw out and capture Joker. That was Dent's reason for telling everyone that he was Batman. Batman wanted to give up so the Joker would stop killing. Remember, the Joker said "Batman must take off his mask and turn himself in or else every day people will die." That's why Bruce said to Alfred, "People are dying, what would you have me do".

Also, Batman and Harvey didn't know Gordon faked his death. Batman looked sad when the cops told Gordon's wife that he died and she cursed at him and Dent was surprised to see Gordon rescue him.

I really hate the word "plot hole" thrown around here by posters when it was either because they weren't paying attention or didn't understand something upon first viewing.

Yes you did, He plays Louise's estraged Gay father who fancies Jonny.

I knew it!! He was also chief of Police in another comedy, maybe The Detectives, I can't be sure.

where was the girl from Hollyoaks? She was listed on IGN.

Mandy (sarah Jayne Dunn) i know my finace said the same thing, in the credits at the end she's listed as 'Moroni's mistress' but i never spotted her.

^^^

She was in the club with Maroni when Batman came looking for him. She had like two lines and it went something like this:

Maroni's mistress: The music's so loud in here I can't even hear myself talk.
Maroni: Like I wanna hear you talk anyway.
Maroni's mistress: Huh?

Then Batman shows up beating up Maroni's men.

Can anyone tell me what Gordon says when Batman escapes from the police near the end?

Yeah I couldn't hear it cos of the music

Here it is.

Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now...and so we'll hunt him, because he can take it. Because he's not a hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector...a dark knight.

Why do people keep saying it was too long!!??

I mean, The Titanic and Gone with the wind were twice as long, but no one was complaining about those! (except me).

grrr.

My favorite line of the movie.

Here's an easy one maybe.

If the ferries were transporting everyone in the city off the island because the bridges and tunnels were wired to explode...why were there only like 100 civilians on one ferry and 100 convicts on another? Wouldn't there be tons more people to transport?

And at what point to they explain where the criminals came from or how they decided to get them on their own boat?

No...you're not missing anything. There was definitely stuff cut out of the film, probably because of length. I know for a fact from someone who worked on production of the film there was a murder scene that involved a Joker card stuck to the wall by a knife, and that Batman pulls the card off the wall in anger. That is never in the final cut, neither was the Haha's shaped like a bat symbol.
