I don't care for way-out-there theories either

Well, whatever creams your twinkie. I also loved that theory of yours with "look at me!" (but like someone mentioned, the unenthusiastic first 'Look at me' just debunks it for me :csad:)

What do you think they'd be talking about before Gordon arrived? Like Joker sitting in darkness talking to the presence in the room. Saying things like "You and I aren't so different....." Maybe without a response from Batman and Joker just speaking.
Just ideas to throw out, nothing certain though.

Cause Joker just doesn't seem at all surprised but has a look that is more like 'DOOD WTF" Almost like he knew Batman was there and wasn't expecting him to hit him so soon.

I agree about the "DOOD WTF" look but I interpreted it as confusion that someone was standing behind him. I really don't think he knew Batman was there.

Ya, I'm pretty sure that he thought gordan was leaving to bring batman in to be the bad cop to his good cop. ya know what I mean?

I don't think he knew Batman was coming at all. He was probably just suspecting some ordinary cop.

idk, the way I see it he knows gordan and batty are buddys. and that batman acts above the law and the gordan abides by the law. so I figure he's expecting batman to be the bad cop, while gordan tries to be nice. and than he get's surprised cause instead of getting batman, batman was there the whole time, and grodans just leaving him alone w/ batty.

Wow, that's such a stretch, what is it with you people and overanalyzing this movie

"Here I am"...As in literally, here I am.
because I was sitting there and saw it another way  Thought hmm that was interesting wonder if anyone else thought of it like that.
Nobody is arguing that THATS WHAT HAPPENED.

And that's fine, but I don't see it at all. Mine is more of a reactionary post at these theories put forth about TDK by some fans, don't get pissy :hehe:

Well my post was a theory...I'm a fan...it was a reactionary post to an accusation that I over analyze things

:lmao: Someone needs to take a screencap of that and caption it with "DOOD WTF."

He's still somewhat blinded by the sudden light, so some of it was figuring out what the heck just happened.

It's likely Joker knew that Gordon would get Batman into the room somehow, but I don't think Joker knew Batman was already there. When Batman says to him, "You wanted me, here I am," Joker responds with, "I wanted to see what you'd do. And you didn't disappoint." It means that Joker had no personal interaction with Batman up until that point, or else he would have known what Batman would have done upon first meeting him. Or talked about.

("Thanks for the tip about the black eye makeup, mine runs all the time." :funny: )

It is a huge leap and stretch in interpretation but look at it like this

You wanted me, here I am - You wanted me to rough to hit you, there you go.

I wanted to see what you'd do and you didn't disappoint - I didn't think you were going to even hit me but hey look you did it.

If you look at the exchange of dialogue from another point of view, it could be implied that they knew about each others presence before. When Joker also says "the good cop bad cop routine" it could be seen as, oh getting some coffee and going to leave me with batty over here I see what your doing.

With Gordon leaving it is almost like he is saying "ok batman you can hit him now"

The exchange before could have easily been "I bet you want to hit me" or "When you were on the floor I felt like a kid opening a christmas present, open you up real fast, or savor it and go nice and slow" batman could have been silent for the most part.

I didn't interpret their exchange that way at all. When Batman says, "You wanted me, here I am," I took that to mean "You've been baiting me and spoiling for a fight, so here I am." The Joker follows up with "I wanted to see what you'd do, and you didn't disappoint. You let five people die." That makes me think he's referring to their game of cat-and-mouse, not Batman's actions in the interrogation room.

I guess it's possible that the Joker was demanding to see Batman, but I thought he seemed really stunned to see Batman in the room with him, though maybe he was just stunned by the blow to the head. :hehe:

Take a look at this shot (the first shot after the bank robbery scene)

What the heck is that blue light? It CAN'T be the bat signal. It's blue, and it's shooting straight up. When we see the Bat-signal a few shots later, we see it's pointed at an angle.

The blue light reminds me a lot of the lights they shine where the World Trade Centers used to be:

Could this be subtle foreshadowing to the post-9/11 themes that are dealt with in the movie?

I may be over-analyzing. But, if so... what the heck is that blue light? Who said "you know, random blue light right there would look really cool"?

You know, it's possible that Gordon turned it on and then turned it at an angle, so it would shine on the clouds. :oldrazz:

And no duh, it's the batsignal. What else could it be?

(Sometimes, I'm starting to wonder if people are really being facetious....)

Why the heck is it blue?

But even if it is the bat-signal, it still could be Nolan trying to evoke that imagery.

Question: Why weren't Wertz & Ramirez arrested after it was found out they were the ones that picked up Dent & Rachael respectively?

Question: Why weren't Wertz & Ramirez arrested after it was found out they were the ones that picked up Dent & Rachael respectively?

Because The Joker was trying to turn Gotham into Baghdad, and Gordon had bigger fish to fry. And if I understand correctly, at the end when Gordon says "Five dead... two of them cops... you can't just sweep that under..." he could be thinking that Wuertz and Ramirez were dead. But then he may be talking about the two uniforms in Gotham General Hospital. So who knows?

Question: Why weren't Wertz & Ramirez arrested after it was found out they were the ones that picked up Dent & Rachael respectively?

Wuertz is dead, and who says anyone found out Ramirez picked up Rachel? Gordon obviously didn't know, considering he asked Harvey if he knew who picked up Rachel, and Harvey only finds out from Maroni.

So the only people who knew Ramirez was in on it were Ramirez, Rachel, Maroni, Harvey, and maybe The Joker, three of whom are dead.

Question: Why weren't Wertz & Ramirez arrested after it was found out they were the ones that picked up Dent & Rachael respectively?

I don't think Gordon knew about Wuertz and Ramirez. Remember he asks Harvey who picked him up and Harvey wouldn't tell, and Harvey only figured out that Ramirez was in on it when Maroni informed him.

I wonder what Batman was doing the entire time behind Joker and Gordon were talking in the interoggation room with the lights off?

He was probably bored, maybe sat on the floor, took a piss, etc.

Here's a question, what is on the Joker's hand any time you see them? Is that makeup? what is that stuff?

,
?
