Well, that pic wouldn't suggest that. He looks like he's just.....well....standing there.

And if it gets destroyed.....then THIS isn't the new costume. We're not going to get the one in the official pic, then either....unless we believe the "change suit mid-film" thing.

I meant destroyed on set, while they're filming a stunt scene (maybe Batman jumping from there, etc.).

Take this for what you will...
A friend of mine lives in Chicago and last month WB contacted him and said that their film, RORY'S FIRST KISS, was going to shoot in the alley behind his apartment. He knew it was TDK, obviously.
Last night, they shot, what was BALE in full costume, crouched on the railing of his back porch. He said they poured rain over the scene and Batman sat there as some woman in tears yelled at him, "This is all your fault. You brought this on all of us."
Then, they reset the shot and Oldman was there, comforting the crying woman.
He tried to get pics but his pics sucked he said, due to the fact that the PAs were in his apartment and had eagle eyes.
Pretty cool.

My guess: Stuntman, rehearsal suit, temp suit to get positioning and lighting right for the real shoot which could be happening tonight (batman wont be in day), or it could just be a really bad angle, or the cameras fault.

Either way, they released a picture of how the suit will look the other day.

They use temp suits for blocking/light set ups because the real ones are pretty expensive. Besides, I have it on good word that the temp suits for his stand-ins look like ****.

And you forget, Nolan and his team come from indie cinema. Yes, this is a big budget blockbuster and yes it is his second, but he still knows where to cut corners to come in ahead of schedule and under budget so as to help him gain studio trust and eventual final cut.

Just to add to everyone flipping out about the ugly suit; How is it so implausible that there's a cheap costume for touchups? They don't have to drag out the suit that costs thousands of dollars and takes nearly an hour to put on for a couple of over the shoulder shots of Gordon speaking.

I don't think that there is a lot wrong with it. It isn't a flattering photo, but I would have thought that it should ease the worries of lots of people who disliked some of the technological elements of the design, or who worried that the insignia might be gold.

Maybe they used a looser suit for a scene where Bale is crouching down, becuase it pulls and tightens anyway, I just crouched down in my loose Levi's and they got tighter, just a stupid thought though lol
